Europe tour Interail 2006 : Introduction

En français
If you remember, more than two years ago I posted a series of travel post about two weeks of interail travel in center Europe. The introduction to this series can be found here.
As we really enjoyed our trip, the following year, in 2006, we decided to restart the experiment by doing a complete Europe tour for a full month. By complete I mean that the western point was Rennes in France where we took our first train from, the southern was Salerno in Italy by accident, the eastern was Bucharest in Romania and the top north was Narvik in Norway.
We spend the 2 first week in western and eastern Europe discovering the Slavic countries for the first time (except for Poland which I already visited) and the last 2 in the northern countries, Scandinavian countries and Finland.

My first plan was to make one post a day about this travel for a month but I had been advised by a very wise person to write a post on it every two days to make it last two months. And I think I will follow the advise, not to have posts appearing only every two days but because that way I will be able to post something else in between so that my reader who don't like the travel section don't have to wait for ever before having something to read. I also have a lot of other things to say.
The map below have been taken form Seb travelling, the travel website of my fiancé.

Travel in Republic of Ireland : Connemara, Galway and end

En francais
We saw more of the beautiful Connemara landscape before arriving in Galway which is one of the most famous city in this part of Ireland. To get there we took a road called "the sky road" which offer one of the best scenery in Ireland. We then visited Galway and a castle north of it before starting on our way back stopping in Ashford Castle and to see a waterfall.

Travel in Republic of Ireland : From Achill Island to Connemara

En français
After our visit to the Achill Island we decided to go to Galway through the Connemara.
Here are some pictures of what we saw on the road between Achill Island and Westport as well as pictures of our visit of the Kylemore Abey (Mainistir na Coille Móire in Irish) which was a private home and castle before becoming an Abey.

Travel in Republic of Ireland : Achill Island

En français
We decided to go spend the night in a camping on the Achill island. It is the largest island of the coast of Ireland situated in county Mayo. The next day we went to visit Baile Treigthe, the deserted village. I was kind of hoping to see ghosts but we didn't, maybe next time we should go there at night. If you wondered how we could go to the island by car there is a bridge between the villages of Gob an Choire and Poll Raithní.

Travel in Republic of Ireland : Sligo–Mayo

En français
After crossing Northern Ireland we arrived on the west coast of Ireland in County Donegal, Sligo and then Mayo. We drove alone the coast which allowed us to see the beautiful landscape. We first saw Bundoran, one of Ireland's most popular seaside resorts and the Sligo's coast before going to see
Downpatrick Head. Downpatrick Head is a huge rock in the Atlantic ocean that is cut from the cliff.

Travel in Republic of Ireland : Not yet

En français
So as I told you so long ago in the introduction in Avril 2009, we decided to rent a car and to leave Belfast for a long week-end to visit the Republic of Ireland. But to get there from Belfast by car, we obviously had to cross Northern Ireland. So here is a little bit of what we have seen in Castle Archdale, north of Enniskillen, at the border of Lough Erne (Loch Éirne in Irish) and Lough Erne.
Lough Erne are two lakes that are in fact a larger section of the river Erne.

Demon and fairy part 7

This blog hasn't been pretty quite for the last few weeks, but it seems that it's going to get a bit better.
I recently moved to the US for two months so you can expect to see a bit of things about that in the section travel. I haven't been seeing around much for the moment but you will get something to read when I find something interesting to write about. I'm also planing to finish the travel part about Ireland before the end of the month.

About this month challenge : I'm late with my word count, 16323 words when I should be at 21930, but I'm not too worried about it. I'll catch up as soon as I stop suffering of the jet lag. I could probably get back on track before the end of the week. At least that's the plan.
Also here is what I wrote so far for AugNoWriMo, I hope you will enjoy it.

I also would like to thank Yonefendi for his nice comment that's the type of encouragement that help me to want writing this blog every day.
