Attic Mirror(Published)
Hitomi pushes one more door. This is the part of the attic where nobody
ever comes. She feels the cold air coming out of the dark room. It
smells like dust and old things. She pushes the door a little more and
enters...
Her curiosity becomes slowly stronger than her fear of darkness and she starts to explore. She finally starts to enjoy
herself, uncovers a strange looking mirror and puts an old dress in
front of herself. "Really, really nice", she hears a voice say. She startles, turns around in the room, she is all alone...
Here are all the snippets of Attic Mirror as they appeared on the blog for various blog hops and events. There were some changes between the publication on the blog and the book publication so some scenes might differ.
Hi everyone, here is a list of all my novels: some are published, some have finished drafts, some are work in progress...
Every part that has been published on this blog will be listed in individual blog posts for each novel so you can follow the story in order more easily than if you have to scroll with the title label to the end and go backward. I know that previous sentence of instructions barely makes sense to me and I know where to find the blog posts, oops. No worries, everything is now going to be here and hopefully a lot easier for you guys!
The state of the novel is specified for each title as well as its placement in the series but don't hesitate to ask me any question.
When more snippets are added to the blog every week, the lists will be updated too.

Book of Fire (finished draft)
Book One Witch Raising Series, Book 5.1 in the Demon Series
Brownie has had enough. Enough of not knowing what her future holds, enough of being told not to use magick even when her magick saves the day, enough of dealing with Sahel being worried and overbearing, enough of being told that everything she knows about herself is wrong. She doesn't say goodbye to anyone, and she leaves as if she is running for her life, and maybe she is. She takes the train across the country to go meet a witches' coven who she hope might help her with the half baked spell she still feels hanging above her head. But the trip isn't peaceful, in the first city, demons are waiting...
Book of Earth(WIP)
Book Two of the Witch Raising series, Book 5.2 in the Demon Series
Brownie is back on the train, leaving Fireden behind to pursue
her trip to find a witch coven willing to help her. She hopes for a
peaceful journey but the demons have another idea. On top of that, she
has to deal with a reckless witch who doesn't mind casting spells in
every directions and damn the consequences.
Seti likes to fly to the beach and to look into that magical tidal pool,
to see her. She is the only one, removing his pain and almost making
him forget the Chaos inhabiting him and escaping the Demon World where
he comes from and where he can't have physical contact with anyone.
But
one day, just looking isn't enough anymore... from one world to the
next, Seti fights again the darkness inside and the darkness outside.
Darkness can take unexpected forms.
She had seen his soul, a purple light, dancing, vacillating in his grey
eyes and she had felt in love with him. They would have gone anywhere
for each other, there seemed to be no end to their happiness. But now it is gone, his body has become an empty moving shell and he is forgetting about her, about himself, about everything....
Desperate, crying for help, Brownie can only let him walk away under the
rain which can't hide her tears. But there is more to her than that. She
is determined to bring him back and she would go to hell for it. Diving
in the darkness of demonic Magick, she will following the only path she
knows to help him get better. She will steal his soul back from the
demons...
But there are things she wasn't prepare to answer
to... How do you raise a baby demon? Especially when this one seems to
be growing unbelievably fast.
Brownie's repetitive missed attempts to recall Yue's soul are like a Damocles sword hanging above her head. She has released way to much uncontrolled dark Magick in her world and now she must pay the price for it.
In an attempt to help her, Sahel decided that she needs to give up Magick all together but once you start, there is no coming back. One spell at a time, Brownie is trying to fix the damage she has created to protect herself and the house but she is dragged into the knowledge of her past life by a powerful potion.
The demons, hunting for souls, are still waiting in the dark. They want the witch and her past knowledge. They have other mischievous plans for the demons falling into their hands and dangerous weapons: rebellious Nephilim, uncontrollable demons coming from the North, a key to the future and Yue Brownie's soulless ex-boyfriend.
If things can go wrong, they will. Especially when demons are involved
and they are busy with their own thing in a world they don't in. Why did
Seti go back to the Fairy World when he knew how dangerous that was?
Why did magic suddenly disappear? How are they ever going to get back?
Back home, Brownie does the only thing she knows how, take charge with
whatever knowledge she has about the situation, when everybody else is
panicking. Let's hope it will be enough.
At time, life can be so depressing. She is walking her usual recovery tour in Harajuku, finishing with a crepe, trying to forget that her boyfriend dumped her once again for the week-end... when the unthinkable happens... A boy stops in front of her in the street and kisses her, in the middle of the street, before running away.
Trying to discover more about him, she is dragged into a dangerous game of mystery. A biologist has been murdered and a deadly virus is on the loose. First suspect: the mysterious Harajuku's stranger.
Kamaril is ready to get what he wants, he knew he was special too. He has Poseidon's memories now. It's time for him to go take his righteous place as the king of his own kingdom, no matter how wet and how much it smells like fish down there. Quite better even if he swims under the see, the Hunters will live him alone, or so he thinks.
Nerissa is waiting for Poseidon to come back but going to his temple in ruins is forbidden. Betrayed, captured, Nerissa is facing the Mermaids council.
Snippets unavailable.
Murder at the Conference (WIP)
There
is a conference in China. I'm planning to go around and do some sight
seeing at the same time. I wanted Christa to come with me but the more
it goes, the more she is getting on my nerves.
China is strange,
very different than anything else, yet in the conference room, there is
this guy again. He is wearing short, looking like he is on holidays, but
I saw him before. I can't shake the feeling that he had something to do
with Kaji's death...
And then, during the first presentation, someone dies.
Frederique
faints and her mother freaks out and get her to the hospital for more
and more test that leads nowhere. Her mother is trying to dictate her
life and stop her to go to university, where she wants to try and learn
more to figure out what is wrong with her. This is the girl's daily routine seen from the outside.
On
the inside, Frederique is traveling to places she could never dream of
reaching. Yet, the more she faints, the more complicated her world gets.
Isabelle
is stuck. She wants to be able to travel from universes to universes
but her mother believes her younger brother is more fit for the
succession than she is. She doesn't know what she is doing wrong,
everything she does pisses her mother off, nothing is ever good enough
while her brother can do no wrong even when he breaks the rules.
But
it seems that she has some allies, some directly in front of her, who
might want to hurt her mother more than they want to help her. Others,
unexpected, met through the randomness of parallel slipping.
Being a wizzard boy isn't all what it's cracked up to be. Sedana is trying his best but families in the Magic World want to make alliances and if they can't have him or his sister, they are more than happy to see nobody will. The teachers are lame, he is bored to death at school which isn't improved by the never ending weird incidents that keep on following him around. Then there is his best friend's sister. She is different. She isn't part of his world and yet she shows up when he needs someone the most.
In Polysky city, the rainbows rule. People with money to by them can survive, others have no medicine to go on. Clarissa needs a rare purple rainbow to get on a dangerous heart surgery. Her sweet brother Jason has been gathering money and finally managed to get a deal for her rainbow, but things turn to nightmare and Jason needs to get in the deep desert to catch the rainbow himself.
On a powerful motorbike, using the mysterious power of the Mooncatcher a devise allowing to drive kilometers without seeing time pass, Jason seeks his sister's rainbow. He will meet friends, but people can be deceiving and many would give anything to put their hands on the Mooncatcher.
Jane
is driven. The only thing she can think about is studying, making
herself better, achieving her goals, even if she isn't sure what those
goals are. She has no time for foolishness and that includes sleeping.
Yet, when something crash in her window, she drops everything to
investigate and is transported in the world of darkness of the creatures
she is sharing her house with. She lands in the middle of a war between
vampires and vampire hunters while the veil between Human World and the
Demon World gets thinner and thinner endangering all the unsuspecting
humans around, including her friends.
The House At The Crossing (Finished Draft)
There is a house in the middle of everything. That is the place where people go when there is nowhere else's left. That is a place of travel, change and rebirth. At this crossing all the worlds and realms meet and so do all the versions of Margo.
Margo needed a break from her chaotic life so she answered and invitation from aunt Teresa and arrived in her mysterious house. But she didn't arrive alone. The forces at work brought a lot more of her than she expected.
In a house where the wall and rooms change depending on your need and where walls are gateway to different world, Margo is up for a few surprises.
They tried to kill him. That's the only conclusion coming to Viorel's mind as he untied the ropes and starts running toward the deep forest surrounding the castle of the Transylvanian vampires.
They tired to kill him and he needs to run, but where? How? He doesn't even remember his own name. All he knows is that he is one of them even if the pain of his heart newly beating in his chest seems to say otherwise.
He runs away to the west, in quest of the best alchemist of all time Nicholas Flamel, he needs knowledge to understand what happened to him and to learn how to take revenge because there is one thing he knows for sure, they have taken Sorina from him and they will pay for it.
Arman has a mysterious power, he can travel into other people's dreams and does it even when they complain that it disrespects their privacy. But one day someone manages to reach his dreams reversing the process all together. Arman becomes obsessed about finding her but she seems a little bit blurry... and she has another secret.
It finally arrived. In August, I had been working on the preparation of Attic Mirror hardcover and it's finally here. I'm not usinglulu for publishing yet. I'm just considering the option but it's really nice to have one more of my books in a different format. I'm also happy with the result.
Today is day Y for the A-to-Z challenge, Yes, the one before the last, this all challenge business will end up so quickly, the time really flies. Today's word is Yearning, something about the past, Hitomi is readying through old aunt Teresa's diary, there is thing there about a Yloc.

**********
Hitomi
started to think about her best friend. She often wanted to have
someone to who she could have said everything but had never felt that
comfortable with anyone. Grenadine was probably the closest thing she
has to a best friend except for Demian but as he was her boyfriend
now so it was a bit different. She continued to read.
So
I looked at them go away, I was feeling so miserable looking at the
cake which hadn’t been eaten and at the presents
which hadn’t been opened. I ran to my room to cry. I
heard them come back few hours ago and as they started to climb the
stairs I decided that I still wanted to be alone. They would probably
have asked me to forgive them. My brother always does that, pretend
to be sorry when he is not and I’m forced to forgive him. I
guess it’s a Christian thing, if someone says sorry
you should forgive them so that God can forgive you and let you go to
Heaven. I really want to go to Heaven, because Hell is very scary,
but today I really didn’t feel that I could face it
so I ran to the attic stairs. The attic always scared me
too, as dark as Hell, it’s the creepiest place
of the house but I was sure that nobody would ever come to look for
me there. So I climbed the stairs, entered the first
room I found unlocked, and decided to feel even sorrier
for myself than I already was.
But
what happened then was incredible. I heard a voice coming from the
deep darkness of the attic and I didn’t understand what it said
but it was kind of soft and not scary at all. The exact words
were:
“Stop
crying like that you are going to make my Yloc depressed.”
When
she read these words, Hitomi’s heart missed a beat. It was sure
now, this was Teresa’s diary. They had almost given up the idea
that she could have one after not finding it in the chest or anywhere
in the attic but now it was here in her hands. She liked the style
much better than the one of the old man, probably because it was
written by a girl, maybe also because she was trying to escape as
well when she had climbed to the attic the first time.
I
didn’t know that there was someone in the attic and the shock made
me suddenly stop sweeping. Then I hear some kind of plaintive cry and
then the voice again.
“See
what I meant, my Yloc always get depressed when girl are crying
around, she is very sensitive.”
Again
the strange word, I got up and started to walk deeper into
the darkness not really reassured but I could see
nobody.
“Where
are you?” I remember saying.
“Here”,
the voice answered on my left. But there was only a mirror. When I
was little I always had mum read me the snow-white fairy tale,
it was my favourite, so I knew about speaking
mirrors and looked at it.What
I saw inside was so incredible that I’m still
wondering if it’s true or just a dream.
There was a boy inside the mirror holding the strangest animal I had
ever seen and he was looking straight back at me.
“Now
tell her everything is fine because she doesn’t believe me” he
said.
And
curiously I started to talk to the strange animal and the boy called
David made me promise to come back tomorrow. It’s
surely the strangest birthday I ever had in my entire life. When I
get back down it was really late and everybody was really worried, my
brother got scolded again but I didn’t find it
rejoicing at all as I would have expected.
The only thing I can think about now is the strange boy
on the opposite side of the mirror which makes me
remember I didn’t open my presents yet.
It
was the end of the first day. Hitomi sighed and took an empty
notebook in a drawer. She wanted to write a diary too. Compiling day
by day the information she was learning about Teneria seemed to be a
good idea. Teresa seemed to have started writing hers the day she had
met David, probably because it was the most exciting thing ever
happening in her life or maybe because she didn’t have a best
friend to share it with anymore. Hitomi started to remember what she
had done and felt since the first day she had met Demian and wrote
down everything. Then as she was way too excited to go to sleep
despite the late hour, she started to read again and finally felt
asleep on Teresa’s diary, dreaming about Teneria and about the
strange boy on the other side of the mirror.
