Hello everybody and welcome for a new Sunday of writing with Weekend Writing Warrior and Snippet Sunday!

How are you doing? 

Let's continue with  "The House at the Crossing" and it's a prequel to Demon Soul and the demon series. It's a bit of a mix of Fantasy and Science-fiction.

It follows one of the books more obscure character as she first comes into the House. It's supposed to explain why there are so many people is the house and sort of where they come from and at the same time be a first time adventure for the main character as she needs to adapt to her new role and the new version of who she is. 

Let's start right at where we left off last time.

I try to figure that out. There are vague memories of me looking at travel books but that seems so far away, as if it's not real. Not in the way my other selves memories inside of me aren't feeling real but in the way that it never actually happened.
And looking at my other self, there is a part of me that know I wanted to travel but that part is gone inside of her and I somehow can see it.
We are the polar opposite of the same person but I'm not more myself that she actually is. Now, it's just a pain to look at her because it feels like I have lost a part of me and the fun part at that.
“So if I go out what will actually happen?” My other self says and damn, my stubborn part went to her because I don't feel like fighting and I know that I used to be stubborn just it's like a mirage. Was I?

Let's start right at where we left off last time.

 

I can image me being a house wife but that's probably what she already think I am. I can imagine a lot of things but maybe Teresa is right, maybe what makes her me is a part of me that I don't know about yet.

“At the moment, all that is the closer to you is with you and all that is the closer to her is with her. Which means not a single version of her is complete, not a single version of you is complete either. Every single little part of each version of you in the different universe split to come to the one person that was the closer to them. I bet you never wanted to have kids,” Teresa said pointing at my other self. “And I bet you never wanted to travel anywhere.” She says pointing at me.

Let's continue with  "The House at the Crossing" and it's a prequel to Demon Soul and the demon series. It's a bit of a mix of Fantasy and Science-fiction.

It follows one of the books more obscure character as she first comes into the House. It's supposed to explain why there are so many people is the house and sort of where they come from and at the same time be a first time adventure for the main character as she needs to adapt to her new role and the new version of who she is. 

Let's start right at where we left off last time.

 

And I know she is feeling stuck because I am feeling stuck too in this person that is me, and that at the same time is all the me I could have been but not really me anymore. I mean if you experience everything that you could have experienced, if you said yes and no to the seafood you still have the stomach ache when it turns bad but also not the stomach ache and it's a bit like hanging in between everything and never quite reaching who you think you are.

She wants to go out and I don't because there is two possibilities, like I can stay and I can leave and so in all probability, the probabilities are broken and we are going to be forced to do the same think and us going out is never going to happen.

“You can go out when you are fully yourself, when you are one,” Teresa says. “I don't know if you realized it but at the moment you are both exactly diametrically opposed. You are the penultimate versions of yourself, you couldn't me more different even if you tried.”

Oh I can imagine something different alright. I can imagine her with blue hair and I'm pretty sure she does too at this point but does that make us different or does that makes us more similar.

I never came here before even though from the outside the house seemed familiar. Or maybe I have. I'm not sure what is happening to me but I feel very confuse and dizzy and suddenly Teresa is next to me taking Hiroshi and telling me to have a seat.
“Your multiple self aren't fully yours yet, you shouldn't try to think about a memory too hard,” Teresa says.
“How do you...”
“My dear, I have been there, and it still happens to me from time to time,” Teresa says with a smile.
“But why can't I leave alone?” My other self says looking at me as if she is going to try and coerce me into going out with her, though I have no idea what to do if I go back to my own universe, leave alone that I don't even know which one it is anymore.
It's easy to see and believe that all the different memories are real but at the same time it's like nothing is real anymore.

Let's start right at where we left off last time, Teresa is trying to explain but Margo has trouble getting it.

 

She put the bottle on the table and takes Ryan up, his head against her shoulder. She does know a thing or two about babies.
“This place is a sanctuary,” Teresa says. “People from every Realm come when they need to and they can stay for as long as they need to.”
I guess I'm one of those people in need. I didn't have anywhere else to turn to when I got Teresa's letter. I'm still amazed at the timing. I can't remember the wording, I'm still half sure that I actually called her to ask to stay here but at the same time, I'm not sure I even knew she existed before today.

The vampire again... I can't wait to meet the guy, maybe he could explain things, to make them clearer even though I'm not sure it's possible. “And who would that be?”

“The local vampire,” I answer.

My other self looks at me. “I swear I'm not making it up.”

“So we have a non teleportation field on the house, that's what you're saying.”

“Yes, in here, I'm safe.” Wendy said.

Let's start right at where we left off last time, Teresa is trying to explain but Margo has trouble getting it.  

 

“Acorn can track people who are not where they should be and to put them back where they belong. Some people escaped before, they are always found, no matter what life they try to build for themselves and where. If I go out of the house, it wouldn't matter in which world I am, Acorn would bring me back. This is the only safe place, Acorn is dangerous.”
“And why don't they come get you here them?” my other self asks.
She has I smell bullshit written all over her face. I'm amazed she hasn't asked Wendy to prove her ears and tails are real. I wonder why I didn't but then, they twitch and I remember why all right.
“Because this place is a sanctuary and Viorel made sure I'm protected.”

I got a new, much bigger aquarium for Mozart. I was getting worried that he was going to get trapped under his rock with not even space to flip himself around and drown. Now he has a lot of space to swim and enjoy his turtle life.

“What's outside for you? Going out doesn't mean you go to Acorn, you can go to whatever Realm, right?” My other self says.
She is good at this, better than me. I haven't been questioning anything for a while but she seems to have kept her mind sharp. I miss that part of me. I wonder where it went. If I had kept suspicious, maybe Mikala or her father wouldn't be gone, he wouldn't have blind-sighted me.

Let's start right at where we left off last time, Teresa is trying to explain but Margo has trouble getting it.  

 

“But... in that case,” my other self says.
“If she was new, we'll see multiples but since she has been here a while...”
“No,” Teresa said. “If a new Wendy arrives here today and pass the barrier of the realms around this house, she would directly become this Wendy, no time lapse, not for normal people.”
It's funny to hear Teresa say normal people and to realize that Wendy is the normal person while I am the abnormal one.
“So if she goes out, everybody goes out,” my other self says crossing her arms in front of her and pushing her back to the chair. She does have some attitude and she is clearly not convinced.
I wonder if she is going to ask Wendy to go out for a while and verify. You know, as an experiment. But she doesn't.
“I can't go out,” Wendy says she seems a bit distraught.

Let's start right at where we left off last time, let's learn about the multiverse.  

 

“It's not really supposed to, it's just the way it is,” Teresa says.
“That would mean that in every single universe, no matter how far apart they are, all the Wendys made the decision to come here at the exact same time,” my other self says.
She definitely isn't having it and I can't say she is wrong.
“It could be only one of me, it probably is,” Wendy says “but if it's a lot of us, I wouldn't know.”
“It makes no sense,” my other self says.
“Yes it does,” I answer and I'm a bit surprised by that but I think I just managed to rack my brain around it.
“I think there are several Wendies here, just, we only see the one from the universe we originally come from,” I say.
“Which once again makes no sense because my Wendy is giving a baby bottle not to a kid from your universe or part of mine so... oh my..”
“Exactly! We see her because we are actually from multiple universe,” I say.

Hum there is a hole in this theory... can you see it? More about that next week. ;)

“Normal people are always integrated. Like I said before, my family only saw what they wanted and they were only one. In this house, all their self were here doing the same.” 

“That makes absolutely no sense,” my other self blurt a little too loud and Ryan starts to cry again. 

I'm about to give him a bottle but Wendy picks him up from his chair and he instantaneously stops. I swallow looking at her. She definitely doesn't look humans but she is one hell of a baby sitter. I gave her the bottle. She walks away to sit at the other end of the table and takes care of Ryan while I busy myself with Hiroshi.

Three months ago I found a turtle on the street. He wasn't looking too good so I decided to take him home. I had some technical difficulty with my blog so I couldn't add new pictures to show him to you earlier, but now it's fixed so let me introduce Mozart.

“You can't leave the house separately, I'm afraid.”
“What?” That's both of us, same reaction from all of my self, integrated with my current body and mind or not.
“Until you are one and only, you can only go out together,” Teresa says. “You'll be in your own world and probably you'll see echoes of each other from time to time as we stay at the same places but you can't be one in and one out, because you are the guardian.”
“Like I can go out, there only one of me,” Wendy says.
She is right, there is only one of her.
“Didn't you...” I start.
“Nope,” she answers. “I don't know about your universes, it's a guardian thing.”

“Except in this house,” my other self interrupts.
“Yes, except in this house, you see the realms also have parallel version so you need the one place to make everything smooth, like a point of origin. This is that place.”
“But how do we know in which universe we are when you leave this place,” my other self asks.
“Quite easily,” Teresa says, “You can only go out to one and only one universe, the one where you come from. You can bring ideas from others, thoughts but nothing material crosses from one universe to another.”
“So if I go out now with one of the kids for example..” My other self starts.
“Then you would go to your universe alone and the kid would be with his mother in his own.”
“But what if I go with him,” she says pointing at Hiroshi, “and she stays here.”

Let's start right at where we left off last time, let's meet Wendy.  

“Wendy comes from the Realms of Acorn.” Teresa says. “Just like the human realm, there are many universes in the Acorn. It's like another world.”
“So you can just change world which staying in the same universe and each of those worls has copies in other universes,” my other self say.
“Precisely,” Aunt Teresa says and she claps her hands together with a huge smile like a little girl.
From her baby chair, Malicia is looking at her. I'm not sure when those chairs appeared but there are three, attached to one side of the table and they are just the right one for the babies, so they can half lie down and have their head supported.
