Wednesday Snippet 451: Fairy World 92

Welcome back to Wednesday Snippet. This week, we continue with Fairy World unedited just where we left off last week. 

"So it's all about you, isn't it?" Viorel asked. "It's not about hurting others, or what could happen to them, it's all about what will happen to your relationship with your boyfriend if the surrounding people change."

Viorel had an amused smile on his face that didn't look good to Evalynn.

"Yes, I'm that selfish and it's all about me," she said. "What were you expecting? I'm a demon."

The last remark had the vampire burst into laughter.

"Yes, that's for sure you are a demon, with wings like yours, I was nowhere near forgetting about it."

"So what am I supposed to do?" She asked again.

"What about starting to learn to make your own choices and your own decision for yourself regardless of what happens around you?" The vampire said turning back to his work.

"I know how to do that," Evalynn said.

Wednesday Snippet 450: Fairy World 91

Welcome back to Wednesday Snippet. This week, we continue with Fairy World unedited just where we left off last week. 

If they fought at the sanctuary that would get the wrath of the teacher on them. If they fought in this house, there were a lot of little humans who could get hurt and get them in trouble. But in the Fairy World, they didn't have anyone to watch over them. They could let their powers go as far as they wanted and there would be no real consequences. That was the reason why they went to the Fairy World, Kelpie had just been an excuse. That was also the reason why they didn't want girls around, not to protect them from whatever was over there, but more to be sure that there wouldn't be anyone to stop them. So now, there was nothing Evalynn could do to stop the boys from hurting themselves and others, but she could still stop the silly little human girl.

"What if she gets stuck in the fairy's mind? What if she makes everything worse than it already is?" Evalynn said.

"And why do you care so much?" Viorel said. "You can still go back to your own life no matter what happens to Brownie and Kallisto."

"But if something happens to the fairy, then something will change about Seti and so Azazel will be hurt and if he is hurt..."

Wednesday Snippet 449: Fairy World 90

Welcome back to Wednesday Snippet. This week, we continue with Fairy World unedited just where we left off last week.  

"You need a lot more than that for the world to fall apart, trust me on that one. But yes, you can sit back and relax, why not? That's the reason why you didn't go to the Fairy World in the first place."

"Everything to find that Kelpie," Evalynn answered shaking her head.

"It seems that people in this house can't be at rest until every single one of them is in a safe place, and this includes you. It's a nice feeling isn't it, knowing they have your back no matter what and no matter which crazy place you got yourself into."

Evalynn considered what the vampire said for a moment but it didn't hit home. There was nobody having her back, only Azazel could be partially trusted. They didn't go to the Fairy World because they had Kelpie's back, they just wanted to enjoy themselves in a place where there would be no real consequences.

Wednesday Snippet 448: Fairy World 89

Welcome back to Wednesday Snippet. This week, we continue with Fairy World unedited just where we left off last week. 

"Because she is putting everyone in danger and she doesn't even realises it," Evalynn said. "You told her yourself not to do anything stupid. Now she wants to dive into the fairy's mind."

"Well, that's not stupid," Viorel said with a smile. He had other things to care about, the night's hunt had made Dylan sick with bad blood and there was a lot going on in the city's underground that didn't seem too healthy for vampires. He had a blood virus to take care of and that was his immediate worry.

"That's stupid, I thought at least you would help. This is not my house. What am I supposed to do?" Evalynn said.

"That's the whole point of this house, you go around and do as you please," Viorel said. "But don't get in Brownie's way if she is diving, entering her circle would disturb her and be dangerous."

"So I'm just supposed to sit back and relax while the rest of the world is about to fall apart?"

Her last comment made the vampire laugh.

Wednesday Snippet 447: Fairy World 88

Welcome back to Wednesday Snippet. This week, we continue with Fairy World unedited just where we left off last week. 

 

"The food chain, that's what you call it?" Evalynn asked. "I never ate humans."

"Maybe you should try," the vampire said turning to her and passing his tongue on his lips.

"Very funny, but we don't have time for that. We need to stop her," Evalynn said.

"Why?" Viorel asked amused.

As always, it was a question of power. The demon girl in front of him was full of powers she wouldn't care to use. She could have done what Brownie was doing a lot more easily, who better than a demon could go find another demon is someone else's mind. But this girl was scared of her own power, as if it repulsed her, as if there was something within her that disgusted her so much that she couldn't even allow herself to be everything she owed to be. Brownie, on the other side, was the complete opposite. She would try and fail and stand back up at every fall until she obtained what she wanted and damn the consequences. Of course, that was dangerous and her recklessness was a scary things to watch but Viorel knew that there was not stopping her with good thought arguments. The only thing that would stop her would be a good debilitating bite but he couldn't sink his fangs in anyone in this house and he didn't want to either. He liked to watch the show.

Wednesday Snippet 446: Fairy World 87

Welcome back to Wednesday Snippet. This week, we continue with Fairy World unedited. Last week, we were with Brownie as she dived deeper into Kallisto's mind, this week we get back to the real world with Evalynn and Viorel.

"That girl is just a pain! Really! She thinks she knows better than anyone else but seriously normal humans, hum, humans shouldn't use magic," Evalynn said. "You know that, I know that, just get it in her head once and for all. Let's go before she does something to hurt herself and everyone around."

"Why didn't you stop her by yourself?" Viorel asked shaking a little tube filled with blood without even looking at the demon.

"What do you mean?" Evalynn said feeling suddenly uncomfortable, she didn't have an answer to that question.

She was a demon, full of powers and she could have stopped the human girl pretty easily without making a big mess in the overly tidy living-room. Everything in here was too net. She needed to do something but...

"You know what I mean, demon, human, you're one step higher in the food chain," Viorel said.

Wednesday Snippet 445: Fairy World 86

Welcome back to Wednesday Snippet. This week, we continue with Fairy World unedited just where we left off last week. 

She sighed and kept walking straight, for the moment, the worse that could happen was that she didn't manage to find Kallisto. But Kallisto could still manage out by herself. So the worse that could happen would be for Samira to break the connection and for Brownie to have to find her way back alone before Kallisto woke up. 

So she concentrated on her love for Sahel again. They didn't have many dates so far, their worlds were too complicated and there was always someone who needed help. She promised herself that once he was back from the Fairy World they would take some holidays, maybe in the Caribbeans or somewhere where there was no demons and no magic. The sky cleared up again. 

She tried not to think of all the reasons that made her dream holidays impossible and tried to visualize them instead. The wind rushes and the trees colored leaf feel all around her. Fall was not her favorite season, going back to school were she didn't have anymore friends while she used to be so popular was too depressing. 

As the clouds reappeared she tried to keep her thoughts in check. She wondered why they were always drifting to something dark. Wasn't she happy with her life? What more did she really need? What more did she really want?

Wednesday Snippet 444: Fairy World 85

Welcome back to Wednesday Snippet. This week, we continue with Fairy World unedited just where we left off last week. 

For all answer, the clouds turned black and light flickered.

"I guess not," Brownie said. So the ring was feeling betrayed because Seti was the one who left. Then there was only one choice left. Brownie gathered all the strength she could master and all the love in her heart .

"Sahel!" She called. "Sahel!" She called even louder.

The clouds split, in one direction with a ray of sunshine. That was her sign to find her way out of this maze. She hoped Kallisto and Seti would see it too and follow it. She only needed patience now. She started walking again.

The sky was becoming clearer the further she walked and the trees gained red and yellow leaves. It was like going back in time, the seasons were reversed. It started in the winter and then it was fall. It was like going back to the beginning, before everything was broken. Brownie wondered if that was the right thing to do, to get back to the point where things had turned wrong. 

She was scared. Things had turned wrong for her when Yue's soul had been stolen and he had left her. Somehow everything had changed but if she reached that point where Yue's soul wasn't stolen, Sahel wouldn't exist, everything would be different. The fear gripped on her heart and the sky darkened again.

Wednesday Snippet 443: Fairy World 84

Welcome back to Wednesday Snippet. This week, we continue with Fairy World unedited just where we left off last week. 

This was different, Kallisto wasn't hiding anywhere. She wasn't really in Kallisto's mind, she was in the ring's mind, the same place where Kallisto should have been. Walking seemed to help her think. If that was the ring's mind, then what was the ring's purpose? Why was it such a bad winter in here?

Seti and Kallisto had used the rings to get out of the Fairy World and to link each other. Then when Seti had gone back, the link between the two rings had been severed. If she was to get the weather to change in here, she needed to find the break. But where to find a break in this never ending forest of identical trees. There was nobody, only a ever ending crossroad and she was always in the middle of it in any direction she walked. And trees, she was also always in the middle of those and she couldn't reach them, if she walked toward the trees, the trees didn't move but she didn't get closer either. The clouds in the sky were changing but they were also the same repeating pattern. 

Who had created the rings? Morgane! 

What did she want with them? To form a vow with her lover. 

Why? Because there was no love allowed in the Fairy World. 

Why does that matter? Because... because... 

Brownie sat again and scratched her head. Was that gonna do? She had no idea. Did she need to call for Seti instead?

"Seti? Are you in here?"

Wednesday Snippet 442: Fairy World 83

Welcome back to Wednesday Snippet. This week, we continue with Fairy World unedited just where we left off last week. 

"Cinnamon," Brownie called. "Cinnamon, I need some help in here."

In the real world, she couldn't see the pixie, unless they were trapped. It had something to do with her eyes not being fast enough, but in here, she hoped her perception would be slightly different.

"Cinnamon, Gentiane," She called again.

Those were the only two she knew by name. Cinnamon she had never seen but she was the nice helpful one. Gentiane was a pain, literally and she would probably be mad at Brownie for being in here in the first place but Brownie didn't care so much she needed something random and unique to figure out in which direction to walk. She couldn't stay here much longer. Even in someone else's mind being outside with a coming storm was not a good idea.

"Girls come on! Kallisto needs you!"

She turned around, but there was nothing in sight. The clouds came from all direction. Brownie started to walk, there was no point staying there even if there was no point to walk either. She wondered what she had done wrong. Where was the corridor with the different rooms filled with Kallisto's memories where she was supposed to find her hiding?

Wednesday Snippet 441: Fairy World 82

 Welcome back to Wednesday Snippet. This week, we continue with Fairy World unedited just where we left off last week. 

Being in the middle of identical nowhere land in the mind of someone else was not really what Brownie had expected. It was all in all very disturbing. She sat in the middle of the street in meditation position, her legs under herself like a Buddha, trying to forget that it was cold and that the ground was wet and that she was feeling extremely uncomfortable. 

She never thought it would be easy but she had thought that at least it would be fairy like. Not what Sahel had described when coming back from the Fairy World with the terrible food and the giant insects looking for breeding partners but more like fairy tales or Kallisto's bedroom with the little fairies flying all around.

Wait where did the pixie go? Kallisto was always surrounded by pixies. There should be a pixie here somewhere that could help Brownie find her. There was always someone in your mind to help the visitor going through the maze, or loose the visitor, but Brownie refused that possibility. She opened her eyes. She was still in the middle of the street with the identical leafless tree all around but the sky had changed. There were grey clouds all over the place, really menacing.

Wednesday Snippet 440: Fairy World 81

Welcome back to Wednesday Snippet. This week, we continue with Fairy World unedited just where we left off last week. 

"All right," Samira took a deep breath. She needed to stay here, she needed to stay here. Why didn't Brownie ask Evalynn instead of her? Evalynn would be so much better, all she could do was creating storms when getting mad, she was not good at this.

"I trust you," Brownie said in her mind. "Now, I'll be getting further and further away. I know you won't break the link."

It was winter in there. Brownie felt the cold chill on her bare skin. She should have worn a jumper, the dress she usually used for ritual despite the long sleeves was not thick enough for this weather.

"At least it's not snowing yet," Brownie said.

"Kallisto, are you in here?" She called but the only answer she got was a stronger wind blowing toward her, not very friendly.

In every mind, there is a pattern. The only places you can see are places where you have been the one you imagine always have flaws. Brownie didn't remember where she had read that but she was sure Kallisto was imagining this place or maybe she was because the trees were all identical repeated to what seemed to be infinity in every direction.

Wednesday Snippet 439: Fairy World 80

Welcome back to Wednesday Snippet. This week, we continue with Fairy World unedited just where we left off last week. 

"I'm going to dive," Brownie said. "No matter what you see, you stay here and thing about this room, that you are in this room and safe."

"I know," Samira said taking a deep breathe. She wanted to ask if Brownie thought that her brother was in the same state if he was going to die. Everybody in the Demon World was fighting, she had lost everything, her parents were ghosts of themselves living with the Nephilims because Seti said it was safe but they couldn't even protect their sanctuary.

"Focus," Brownie said and Samira snapped out of her train of thoughts. "I can't get into her mind if you are nudging me with your thoughts and worries about your world."

"Sorry," Samira said. She didn't know that Brownie could do that, read minds.

"I can't read minds. The connection between the three of us is getting stronger, I'm supposed to get Kallisto's thoughts and to transfer them to you until I want to come back. Then I will grip your mind to help me resurface, hopefully with hers accompanying me. So please if you don't know what to do to calm down, stare at the wall and count slowly, that will probably do."
