Two days ago I made myself a Pikachu. It was on the I-can-do-it-later list for a very long time and I feel like it's time to empty it so more awesome delayed stuff will be coming up.

I used those eyes because I couldn't find nice beats and I can crochet with very thin thread but you can always find beats somewhere if you want.

Amigurumi Carotte : sewing
En français
Here is the last post of the tutorial, where you will learn how to sew all the different part to make your octopus.
First stuff the body and sew the bottom part as show in the pictures.
Then sew the legs around the body, trying to keep the same amount of space between each.
Use a thiner yarn with a different color to draw the eyes.
Here you go, you have a new octopus.
Carotte's friend's name is Sky. He is a bit bigger, but that's normal it's a boy.

Amigurumi Carotte, tutorial simple crochet
En français
This is the tutorial where you will learn to do simple crochet, simple crochet increase, and simple crochet decrease.
When you see sc, or sc in each sc around it the pattern, that means you need to do a simple crochet.
If you see 2 sc in the next sc, it means that you need to do 2 sc to increase in one chain.
If you see decrease, you need to make and sc decrease.
1) Simple crochet.
To do a simple crochet (sc), first you put the hook through the chain, then you throw the yarn on the hook, pull the yarn through the chain, throw the yarn on the hook, then pull through both yarn on the hook.
2) Simple crochet increase.
To increase you just need to do as much simple crochet in the chain as asked in the pattern. In the case of Carotte 2.
3) Simple crochet decrease.
To decrease you first put the hook in the first chain, throw the yarn on the hook and pull the yarn through the chain, then do that again it the second chain (if you need to decrease twice, do that again in the third chain.) then throw the yarn on the hook and pull through all yarn on the hook at once.

Amigurumi Carotte, tutorial two ways to begin
En français
There are two ways to begin to knit you can start with a chain or with and amigurumi ring depending to your needs.
When using a chain you there is a hole remaining, that good if you want to put something there like a teddy bear eye for example.
When using an amigurumi ring, there is no hole, that's the one I always use for the different parts of Carotte.
1) Start with a chain :
First put the yarn around your thumb as in the first picture.
Pull the yarn through the hole to form the first part of the chain (picture 2).
Put the yarn on the hook and pull it through the chain, you will obtain a chain of length 2, be careful not to flip it.
Then you will work your first row in the second chain from the hook, that is the first you've made.
2 ) Amigurumi ring :
With a piece of yarn, make a ring, be careful to have it long enough
Pull the yarn through the ring with the hook making sure you leave a tail, that's the first chain. Put the yarn on the hook and pull throught the first chain to attach the yarn to the ring. (picture 2)
Then you will start your first row.
At the end of the first row pull both side of the amigurumi ring and knot firmly so that it stay fixe.
Don't hesitate to ask question if I'm not clear enough.

Amigurumi Carotte, Tutorial introduction
En français
I made an octopus for Sébastien, from a photo. It's an octopus with only five legs. He called her Carotte because she is orange.
This post is the first of a serie which is going to teach you how to make your own Carotte. Don't hesitate to ask questions.
First you will need some materials :
1) A hook, I used a number 3.5, but you need to use one that suit you and the wool you are going to use.
2) Some wool. Carotte is made of 7 different parts, the head, 5 legs and the bottom. You can chose to make it in one or several colors. You can even make each part in several colors but that more difficult.
3) Some embroidery yarn to draw the eyes, or you can use teddy bear eyes if you prefer.
4) Something to put inside, and a needle big enough to be able to sew with the wool.
