Iceland : Whales, Mývatn

After breakfast it's time to go see the whales in the Arctic ocean, I'm so excited about it. Just writing about it makes me extremely excited again.
The night before there was a big storm so the sea was far from calm.
Our boat is called Sylvía, it's not a tiny boat but compare to the blue whales we are going to see it is. We were already dressed up with three trousers and I don't remember the count of top but the crew of the boat gave us a combination to wear on the top of it.
At the begining I wasn't really sure but after receiving my first wave, I really appreciated it. I was standing at the very front of the boat, trying to see the whales despite the big waves and the water that was coming to me.
Sebastien was a bit more in the back, completely green and cold and asking me if I was ok. Bet I was, I'm front Brittany, I didn't have time to feel the cold and the watter. :D
At the end of the trip, I got a little sick, I didn't have to look for the whales anymore, that's probably why.
In the end we saw some water jet and the back of a blue whales.

After changing our wet clothes we take out leave to Mývatn. That's a lake with several interesting things to see in the neighbourhood. I had hear that the fly there were unbearable, that's part of the name, Mý means midge. But we didn't see that much of them.
There we went to the lake Víti situated in an volcano's old crater, that was kind of cool. Again we were surprised by the color of the water. There we had a bit of snow. We took a walk in the snow at Leirhnjúkur around the volcanic hills.
On the way back we stop to Hrevir, also called Námafjall. We can see smoke going out of some small rocks and even boiling mud.

Iceland : Dettifoss, Ásbyrgi

The way to Dettifoss is really long, but that doesn't really matter because after that we can almost say that we have been on the moon.
Dettifoss is the most impressive waterfall in Europe. We can see the water at the bottom being projected up after the fall. Falling in there should be pretty painful, it's better not to try.
We then walked along the river Jökulsá á Fjöllum to go to the other waterfalls Selfoss and Hafragilsfoss. On the way we collect some volcanic red stones.

We decide to continue our travel to Ásbyrgi, it's a canyon with the form of a horse shoes, that's really impressive too. According to the legend it's the trace left on Earth by Odin's eight-legged horse.
We finally arrive to Húsavík where we will spend the night in the car due a storm.

Iceland : fjords, fishermen, waterfalls

In the morning, we decided to go to the swimming-pool.
That's always a good idea when you are in Iceland and I highly recommend it.
Going out of Höfn we took a tunnel during 1300m under a mountain that different from what we have seen so far.
We then drived along the fjords to reach Djúpivogur. It's a small village where we took a break before continuing our road to Stöðvarfjörður and then the "Iceland fishermen" harbour Fáskrúðsfjörður where we visited the museum about the French fishermen who were coming to fish in Iceland from Brittany.
That's part of my own history as I'm from Brittany.

Not to far from Hengifoss we meet some reindeer. Sebastien didn't notice them but I'm really good with that sort of things. I'll tell you about the seals latter on.
The first waterfall is called Litlanesfoss, we can see Basalt columns around it that remind of Giant causeway.
We then go to see a strange house called Skriðuklaustrur with grass on the roof. It is closed because it's late.
We then go back to Egilsstaðir for the night.

Iceland : the way to Höfn

On the way from Jökulsárlón to Höfn, we arrived at Mýrar where we decided to try to go to the glacier Skálafellsjökull.
We stopped near a mountain and walked for a while, we didn't manage to reach the glacier too far away but we found an lake.
We tried again later to take a road to the glacier Flaájökull, that we hoped will allow us to go near the glacier Vatnajökull.
But unfortunately again, we meet a river.
We finally arrived in Höfn and found a camping.

NaNoWriMo, NaNoFiMo, end of "Demon soul"

Today I really wanted to finish this story, I was feeling so close to the end I couldn't stop until it was done. I wrote more word than I ever wrote in a day. A total of 5790 words. Now I have a huge feeling of achievement. I know I still have to read everything again as I never did during the writing and that I will have to make a lot of correction but I'm glad I managed to finish it before Christmas as I had planed.
If you liked this story you will be pleased to know that I will start a new novel in January. I have still a lot of ideas for a lot of new novel.

Today I managed to reached the 30000 words goal for NaNoFiMo.
I still have a bit more to write to finish the story but I also reached a part that yesterday again seemed very far away.
I'm really happy about today's writing and if you have been following the story so far, a big surprise is waiting for you in this part but I won't tell you anything more and I'll let you enjoy part 27 of the story.

NaNoWriMo, NaNoFiMo, part 26 of "Demon soul"

Today I wrote a bit more than the 2500 words planed. I'm always writing more and I'm really happy about it. I can feel the end of the story coming. I'm a bit frustrated because I would like to finish it before Christmas and it's taking more time than I expected. Probably because that's my first novel and I didn't know or realize how ambitious in number of word it was when I planed it.
Anyway, I'm getting there and I'm proud of what has been achieved so far.
I tried to write a lot of stories before but never reached that far, and never came anywhere close to something I could call the end.
The NaNoWriMo experience was really great to show me that I could to it. When I started, I planned the 2500 words a day because I knew that I needed that much to be able to win the challenged.
I practiced a bit on an other story that I'm now planing to finish sometimes, but at that time I didn't have a dead line, that was just training and I didn't wrote regularly every day.
I found it very difficult to get to the 2500 words a day and wasn't sure to be able to make it in November.
But in November, I had friends trying with me, I had posted the story here and I had actually something to win, if not the challenge at least I would have beaten the length of the longest story I ever wrote. But I made it and now I'll finish that story soon.
I hope you are enjoying it even if the grammar and spelling of this first draft is not very good.

NaNoWriMo, NaNoFiMo, part 25 of "Demon soul"

I didn't wrote anything yesterday, so I had to catch up a little today.
I managed to write 4330 words which is pretty good for a day even if I managed to do more at some point. I really like that part as it's still in the demon world but different from the previous day. I'm also glad that Sahel is making friends with some demons of his age, living with human or even vampire or angel must not be easy for him everyday.
I think Taram and Torin are pretty cool, they made me laugh when I started to think about them. I also like how the things turned up today and how Sahel is learning a lot from them about the demon world. I also like that I managed to link some part with some flash back from the beginning. I'm happy of today's work and I hope you'll be happy reading it too.

Yesterday had been a bad writing day. For the first time I didn't reach my daily goal of 2500 words and only wrote 1500. However today I catch up the 1000 words missing and also added the 2500 of the day. So I'm pretty happy about the all thing. I must say that yesterday I was pretty tired so I didn't use my usual rule : "You won't go to bed until you have your word count done."
But anyway, what is done is done.
I'm also happy because I was pretty annoyed about making Sahel go through so much hardship but now it's going to get better.
So stats since last time : 5015 words written which had up to 77440 words in total and to 20760 for NaNoFiMo.

Getting their aether power is far from being easy for the young demons. I feel half bad for making them go through such hard ship. Poor Sahel, hopefully Brownie is here to take care of him. One power is tasted in this part of the story, three more to go.
Don't cry to much, Sahel will be fine in the end, I think.

NaNoWriMo, NaNoFiMo, part 22 of "Demon soul"

Today was an exceptional writing day. I never ever wrote that much in a single day, not even talking about writing that much in a single session. I was so inspired and so excited about that part of the story. Probably because I though about it so much during the past few days, I don't know.
I could probably have written more if I really wanted to but it's a bit late now and I don't want to push my luck to far at the risk of writing something bad.
Anyway, I'm really happy with my performance of the day and I hope you will enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it.

Stats of the day :
5083 words written, adding up to 69584 words for the story and 11264 words for NaNoFiMo.
Everything is going more than fine.

NaNoWriMo, NaNoFiMo, part 21 of "Demon soul"

A lot of things happened recently from a writing point of view.
First I won NaNoWriMo officially, having written 58320words of fiction by the 20th of November.
Now I have to finish the story and to edit it to be able to have it for sell on amazon by June.

I left to Peru on the 21th of November (more about the travel in the travel section of the blog coming soon) for 18 days. But during that time, I still continue to work on the story to be able to give you something to read when I come back. I typed it all yesterday, I ws thinking roughly at 5000 words but I wrote in fact 6181 words, so almost 12 pages more for you to enjoy.

I also register to a second challenge called NaNoFiMo (National Novel Finishing Month).
The normal goal is to finish a draft (possibly your NaNoWriMo draft) by adding 30000 words to it by the 31th of December.
It's not as well organized as NaNoWriMo, it doesn't have that many goodies and interesting prizes to win but I think that still can be interesting.

I don't know if I need that many words to finish the story, probably yes.
So here is my goal : finishing the story before the 23rd of December because that's the day when I'll be leaving for France and that I'm not sure how will be my computer access there.
I will give you day by day, as I did for NaNoWriMo, my word count of the day, the total word count and the word count for NaNoFiMo.
So here are the statistics :


6181 words written which bring the story to 64501 words.
The NaNoFiMo word count is obviously 6181 words.

베토벤 바이러스 Beethoven Virus

베토벤 바이러스 (Beethoven Virus) is a Korean drama by 이재규 (Lee Jae Kyu) (2008) in 18 episodes.

Du Ru Mi a young violinist working for the Governor need to organize a concert for the creation of an orchestra. Unfortunately, all the founding get stolen and the professional musicians refuse to play for free.
She then decide to make a casting to get unprofessional musician to form the orchestra. She hire her landlady to be the cello player, a retired Oboe player from the Seoul orchestra, a trumpet player from a cabaret and a young cops named Kang Gun Woo, a music genius. They practice waiting for the conductor to arrive. But he is Kang Gun Woo Maestro, the orchestra killer, he never stay in an orchestra for more than 6 months and is well know to interrupt concerts if he estimate that the players are not good enough.

That drama is so funny and so exciting, I couldn't stop watching it and was watching several episodes in a row.
I really wish there was more of it. And of course, as it's all about music, the music is excellent.
