We introduced Sorina, three weeks after the beginning of Viorel's escape.
Viorel dreamed of Sorina and woke up not really remembering anything. Traveling to Paris, he arrives at "La cour des miracles". He is rescued by a stranger who turned out to be Nicolas Flamel, the alchemist he was looking for. Nicolas does some strange experiment without Viorel's agreement. Some people are looking for Nicolas's secrets. On the other side of Europe, Sorina awakes and Viorel's past in haunting him. Viorel discovered that he can change into a wolf but that's not the easiest thing to handle. After finding out that a younger version of Nicolas might not be acting with his best interest at heart, Viorel decides to leave for the north. He is now traveling with two people, Alexej who needed to get out of Praha and Irina who he accidentally rescued.
He didn’t really answered, just growled and kept on chewing on a piece of meat that seemed way to big for one single human. I wondered why he didn’t use his fork and knife but the inn keeper took me out of the thought and I didn’t pay any more attention to Alexei who had disappeared the time for me to order something to eat.
I had a light diner, I wasn’t in the mood to eat anything human, I was in the mood for adventure. I was in the mood for getting things done. And why not killing some Jaggers on the way. I even felt like messing with the dragons if needed, at least alone I didn’t risk to stay stuck under people running in every direction to escape while it was almost impossible.
I wanted Alexei to drive me to the city and to take a closer look at the church. I was feeling good enough to take it down, all the madness inside. I wanted to know what they wanted to do with the dragon's egg. I felt like protecting the dragons, somehow, they reminded me of myself. Alone in an hostile environment, just like when I had left Sighisohara. But there was a part of me that wanted to fight them, to discover what kind of power the Jäger wanted from the dragon and to make that power mine. Irina's blood was flowing inside of me and I felt indestructible. But Alexei was nowhere to be see when I went down to see the horses. He used to spend the night down there even after I had given him a room, he would stand up during the night and come here to sleep. The horses were more and more agitated, whenever he was around and I could have noticed his smell everywhere. Something was telling me that I had to follow him. I concentrated on his smell. His shirt was on the floor in the corner of the stable. He really didn't care about anything else than the horses but why would he have gone out without his shirt?
