We introduced Sorina, three weeks after the beginning of Viorel's escape.
Viorel dreamed of Sorina and woke up not really remembering anything. Traveling to Paris, he arrives at "La cour des miracles". He is rescued by a stranger who turned out to be Nicolas Flamel, the alchemist he was looking for. Nicolas does some strange experiment without Viorel's agreement. Some people are looking for Nicolas's secrets. On the other side of Europe, Sorina awakes and Viorel's past in haunting him. Viorel discovered that he can change into a wolf but that's not the easiest thing to handle. After finding out that a younger version of Nicolas might not be acting with his best interest at heart, Viorel decides to leave for the north. He is now traveling with two people, Alexej who needed to get out of Praha and Irina who he accidentally rescued.
Now, let's continue with Vampire Heart, right where we left off last week.
Irina and Alexej were already sitting at the breakfast table when I woke up the next morning. I had decided to go to the city. I had the most restful night I had in a while but wild dreams seemed to have invaded my mind. I couldn’t clearly recall them but I couldn’t either keep them out of my mind, they were images of places where I had never been, I didn’t remember my entire life yet but I felt those places were both unknown and familiar at the same time. I needed to snap out of it to face my problem with Irina.
“Good morning,” I said trying to be joyful.
“Goo’orning,” Alexej growled with mouth filled of bread or meat.
Irina threw him a bad look but didn’t answer. Something was still bothering her. I wonder if it was the dragons or our little adventure in the wood. Seeing that she was still not talking or even looking at me, I opted for the second. She could have a really hard head when she wanted to.
The inn keeper’s wife brought me a bowl of bouillon and some bread. She was smiling and seemed a lot happier than her husband. She also knew better how to serve guests.
“I had a strange dream last night,” Irina started.
“Really? I have strange dreams all the time, I like to look for meaning in them,” the inn keeper’s wife said.
“Maybe you can help me find the meaning of this one,” Irina’s asked. For the first time she rolled her eyes up above her bowl to look at me. “I was running in the forest and I met a wolf. I was scared but the wolf approached me and sat near me. Then he seemed to want to take me somewhere but instead in transformed into a man.”
“Then what happened,” the inn keeper’s wife said.
She seemed extremely interested; I kept on eating as if it was nothing.
“Then I woke up coughing in my bed,” Irina said not taking her eyes away from me. She was still looking at me from the corner of her eyes, expecting a reaction that I wouldn’t give her.
