26/365 Welcome Katie

Today I reviewed the first azone doll in the Alvastaria series. Her name is Katie, she is a pure neemo XS, sort of an adventure steampunk story going on with the all Alvastaria series so I got Riam and Neilly to accompany her during the photo session. 

Those bricks in the back ground look so big in comparison with the dolls, it looks a bit funny.

Complete Doll Collection: Tour de Shelves (March 2017) (with video)

Today, I'm giving you a tour of my shelves. The big idea was to make this video only after opening all the boxes and tiding up things. I will be moving really soon, so I can't possibly open all the box and fix everything just to pack them up again. Instead, I wanted to have a sort of memory of the place as it is now. That way this video can serve as a "before" and when I'm done installing everything in my new place we'll have an "after".
So today in this video, you'll see, what's basically around me, work in progress, unopened dolls, the excute otogi no kuni shelve, the steampunk/old style shelve, the kikipop and sahra's a la mode shelves, the vocaloid/bjd shelve, the recently open doll shelve including the grail dolls, the lil'fairy table, the Alice's shelves and fairy tales dolls with vampires, the anime shelves and the rest of the dolls I guess. Oh and my MIO obviously.
That's basically it and that's quite a lot so enjoy the ride!

Steampunk dolls video series part 10 (Alice in Steampunk World)

I was up early this morning so I went out to take picture of Alice. I have been promising myself to make a video of her for a while so here we go. I went to a new location which is a park nearby but further away than the one where I took the other video. There were still a bit of people there despite the early hour. I think I managed to get used to the tripod and so I can take pictures in different location without worrying too much about where to put my camera and how to keep it steady. It was nice to have a bench to sit on instead of the usual rocks where I had to lower myself to make sure I was in the frame.

This Alice doll is the Alice of the last Alice series which came out last year. Since they made an other romantic Alice but that one didn't come out with a new series just an add to the romatic Alice series. The Alice in Steampunk World series contains 5 dolls: Pullip Alice, Pullip Mad-hatter, Dal Alice, Isul White Rabbit and Taeyang Dodo. So far I only have Pullip Alice and the Dodo. I'm hoping to get the other three some day but I'm waiting for a price drop which hasn't happened yet. 

The entire series has not only an Alice look with the blue color, the different characters from Alice in Wonderland but also a Steampunk touch, with a brown color and mechanical parts, gear and keys.

Steampunk dolls video series part 9 (Lil'fairies: Riam and Neilly)

Today, I finally went out for a photo session. I took Amane who I'll show you later and I also took my two Lil'fairies Riam and Neilly to take their video for the Steampunk dolls video series part 9. See, I get thinks done. I might not get them done super quickly but they do get done, somehow, at some point.

I also took my tripod to have a more stable video and I even managed a zoom. I'm still can't zoom efficiently while the camera is filming but at least that's something new and it's ok to edit the video with several parts anyway. So it works. You'll be able to see Riam and Neilly from closer up and also my hands a little bit more than expected but hey, someone has to manipulate the dolls.

Steampunk doll video series part 8 (Apollo)

Today, I managed to drag myself out for a photo session. I don't really like to go to the park with dolls when they are many people because it's a bit hard not to have people on the video or pictures. It's hard to find a place to put the camera for the video and because I didn't bring my tripod (again) there was only one place. At some point there was a crowed of kids and parents looking at me from the other side of the camera which was making it hard to focus on and find my words but hopefully, they go bored faster that the video was done. People can be so curious though and kids always come to say hello. 

Anyway, today I introduce my new little boy, the last of the steampunk series doll that I was missing, Isul Apollo. It took me a long time to get him and he came from America because the price is way to high for me in Japan. 

Which also mean that I have a full set of doll!!! So here is my complete group, aren't they incredible!

Steampunk doll video series part 7 (Gyro)

Today, I went to take pictures of Taeyang Gyro outside. I wasn't planning on taking a video when I went out to take pictures today, because I thought it would be colder than it actually was, so I was a bit unprepared and ended up talking a lot. I hope you'll enjoy it anyway. I hadn't been out for quite some time and I wanted to continue my steampunk series, so I decided to clear some brain space by finally doing it. I'm not so happy with the pictures I think I didn't really get his personality through them, I don't know. I also wanted to show the awesome red leaves in the video but that didn't work all that well.

Steampunk doll video series part 6 (Pluto)

Today is the last part of the Steampunk video series until I get a new doll or create something Steampunk for them. 

So it's time to take pictures of my big boy Taeyang Pluto. Taeyang Pluto was my second Taeyang so he has been with me for quite some times. He is supposed to be the counterpart of Pullip Aurora in the second Steampunk series Eclipse. 

I think he is also a very interesting character. He is apparently chasing the sound of the wave in the darkness to dominate the night. 

He has many particular features, he is the only Taeyang with intermittent eyebrows and with breaded hair as well as black nail polish. I think that makes him really unique and cool and I'm very happy to have him in my collection. The only thing a bit annoying is his hat. It isn't large enough to fit on his head and there is no clip to attach it to his wig like Aurora's.

Steampunk doll video series part 5 (Helios)

Yesterday, I went to the azone store to get Swan Lake Raili which I wanted for a long time. She was sold out again soon after so I was very lucky but in the process, I didn't have time to take a video and pictures for the Steampunk project before dust. 

Today, I shall catch up with the first boy doll of my steampunk collection, Isul Helios. It's a very sophisticated doll with a lot of part on his outfit, including a back pack, a hat and googles. 

I like how he looks and I think he is a great add to my steampunk team. It's nice to have boy dolls as well as girls.

Steampunk doll video series part 4 (Icarus)

Dal Icarus is my last female doll of the Steampunk series, tomorrow I'll have boy dolls to show you. She is also the last Steampunk doll who join my family. She has magnificent eyes that looks like the rays of sunshine around blue irises.

Today instead of telling you how beautiful she is, I'm talking about Mythology. In the Greek mythology, Icarus was the son of the craftsman Daedalus, he took the wings made by his father and flew to the sun, falling to his death before he reached it. I like that those dolls not only are beautiful but also have a story to go with them. 

I was lucky because there wasn't much wind today and I managed to take all my pictures and video before the rain. I hope I'll be that lucky tomorrow too.

Steampunk doll video series part 3 (Aurora)

Today, I took Aurora with me for the photo session. There were two steampunk series by groove and Aurora is part of the second one. I only had two dolls from the first series Eos and Ra Muw. So Aurora is not a limited doll because the second series wasn't limited but she is still a bit pricey. 

I think they really made an awesome effort with this doll, she has magnificent eyes and a very detailed outfit with a lot of stuff on it. I'm so sorry because I forgot to bring her wings for the photo session, they are the same as Eos's wings in shape but in black instead of gold. I totally love this doll.  

There was a lot of wind and it was difficult to get her to stand of sit still. Apparently it's the last bit of the typhoon that didn't pass on us but still close enough for the wind. So normally the wind will calm down soon. Hopefully I'll be able to take more daring pictures with the next doll tomorrow.

Steampunk doll video series part 2 (Ra Muw)

Here is the second psrt of my steampunk doll video project. Today I took Ra Muw with me. She was hard to take picture of too. Like Eos, she has really dark eyes so it's more difficult to catch their gaze. I seemed to be able to catch her eyes only when she was looking on the side and I was in a weird position with the camera. 

Talking about weird position, today was pretty acrobatic. I did a few shots from rocks in the middle of the stream so it was hard to get there with doll and camera and bag, I had to make sure nothing fell and that I didn't fell either.

I took some pictures of Ra Muw sitting in the middle of the water on the only dry rocks. That was a bit audacious but fun. 

Here is the video, I'm sorry because the camera focused on the background so me and Ra Muw are a bit blurry.

Steampunk doll video series part 1 (Eos)

It has been a while since I made a video, so I finally decided to get back to it. This is going to be a small project in six parts, one video for each of my six Steampunk dolls.

All the dolls are from the Steampunk Project made by Jun Planning and Groove. There were two Steampunk Projects each with 5 dolls. I'm only interested in 8 of this dolls and so far I still have two of them missing from the first project as they are difficult to find for a reasonable price. I will get them sometimes in the future (finger crossed), I'm also hoping for the dolls from the Alice in Steampunk World series, and the next lil'fairy from Azone which are also going to be Steampunk. That would be 7 more dolls so far. 

But for the moment, we will have this short video series with the 6 dolls I have, starting with the Pullip Eos.

 

Pullip Eos was one of my grail dolls and it took me a very long time to find her at a reasonable price. She is one of the first pullip I wanted (if not the first). She is limited at 2000 pieces worldwide. She has beautiful white hair and a pair of wings. I really like her outfit which is really creative for something so simple.
