Vampire Friday: Vampire Heart 174

Welcome to a new part of Vampire Heart unedited. Have you been bitten yet?Sign up to be part of our awesome Vampire Friday blog hop team! You know you want to!

Summary of the previous episodes: Viorel has been tortured by his supposed family who wanted to have him burn in the sun. Strangely enough the sun didn't burn him as expected but Viorel has no memory of who he is. Following the advises of his supposed father, he left Sighișoara and is now traveling to the West. After some skirmish in a previous city, he found refuge on a boat. Viorel is now in Vienna. The little problem is that the guy at the inn was a bit of an asshole and helped capture Viorel thinking he was a vampire, which he is but nobody needs to know. Now there is a huge man (which I call the colossi) taking care of Viorel and a priest. They brought a girl. Torture my holy water... Fail. Viorel managed to confuse everyone, now he would like to get out of here. But the girl seems pretty useless. They still managed to escape and he left the girl to the care of the boat lady before going back to have two words with his captors but his power of persuasion were failing him. The priest wanted to crack a deal but Viorel is not really up to help his enemies. He finally got some blood but he can't risk to stay in Vienna. He travel to Linz were he stays a bit to learn German.
Viorel wanted to go to Praha but redirect himself toward Augsburg instead where he wants to get a horse, except that the horses are a bit scared of his vampirism and maybe something else. Viorel is really not a horse expert. Then he comes into an altercation with couple of people, he wants some fear in his blood. The girl Viorel has found seemed to enjoy the game. Viorel prepares for the nightmares that come with a feast of blood, in a rush to leave, he cross the dukedom of Lorrain.
We introduced Sorina, three weeks after the beginning of Viorel's escape.
Viorel dreamed of Sorina and woke up not really remembering anything. Traveling to Paris, he arrives at "La cour des miracles". He is rescued by a stranger who turned out to be Nicolas Flamel, the alchemist he was looking for. Nicolas does some strange experiment without Viorel's agreement. Some people are looking for Nicolas's secrets. On the other side of Europe, Sorina awakes and Viorel's past in haunting him. Viorel discovered that he can change into a wolf but that's not the easiest thing to handle.

Now, let's continue with Vampire Heart, right where we left of last week

I startle to the ghostly apparition in the center of my room. Through the curtains of my bed I could only see a white figure walking toward me. I smiled recognizing the lavender smell. I closed my eyes and tried to go back to sleep. It was early morning and I still felt tired of the night out hunting with my dad. My mum pulled on the curtain softly, I felt her looking at me for a moment before lying herself next to me, her body was warm and soft in my back has her chest raised up and down. The way she was breathing I knew that she had been crying. She hated it when we were killing people during the hunt. Tonight we had been very far from the castle to a secluded village in the mountains and we had drunk to our heart content. The older vampire were always the first to drink because they knew exactly when to stop before killing, then it was my turn, just in case something turned bad they would generally stop me. But there were time when we couldn’t stop and when we really felt like drinking until the end we would go further away and had fun on people who didn’t pay the blood fees to keep there life. My father knew that my mum hated to see him kill humans and didn’t always join but at time he needed to be himself.

“You know Viorel, you need to learn to chose for yourself what is righteous and what isn’t. You can’t let people shame you for being who you are. You can’t let the rest of this coven decide if you want to be closer to what you mother believe in or if you want to be more like them, there is nothing wrong at choosing one side or the other but there is no incompatibility with being both. You have something rare, wolves and vampire have been enemies for century, the wolves have moved back in far away Grand duchy of Muscovy and come down here only to escape the terrible winter. You only have your mum here to teach you the values and the heritage from this side of your family. On the other side you have me to teach you the experience and the greatness and powers of the vampire but you have example all around you as well. Despite that you are the only one who can decide who you want to be,” my father said.

Thursday Fiction 168: Parallel Slip

Welcome back to a new part of Parallel Slip, where we follow the adventures of Frederique through her slip in different parallel universes.

Let's start right where we left off last week.

I blinked three times.
So far so good for a good night sleep, I had slipped into another parallel world as soon as I was ready for bed after writing my last black out. I was in the spaceship and lieutenant Fin was in front of me, passing. I looked around. We were in the corridor. I knew something was wrong and I wanted to go to him but I knew I couldn't. The last time I saw him I was mad at him and Michelle was still mad at him and as I looked at him I couldn't help thinking that maybe just maybe Alex was better. Which was sort of funny because when with Alex I wanted him to be Fin and when with Fin I wanted his to be Alex. Maybe because Fin hadn't said anything bad about Amy and maybe like Alex did to get on my nerve and maybe because Alex hadn't said anything bad about me.
"It's taking forever," Fin said stopping to look at me.
He passed his hand in his hair nervously, the same way Alex did. This wasn't helping. I was mad at him and somehow seeing him again made me realised that I was sort of mad at Alex because he was another version of Fin and maybe if I could patch things up here I would stop fighting with Alex in my head too. I almost wished I could go back to sleep with my other self from the fire universe.
But Fin walked toward me and placed his arms around me and hugged me tight and I didn't know how to react to that so I just put my hands on his back.
"It's all my fault," He said.

Wednesday Snippet 171: Blue Angel

Welcome to a new part of Blue Angel unedited, we start right where we left off last time.

A shadow passed on the face of the long-haired demon who found his serious look back, the kind of look that scared the guards. He made a sign of the head for them to get a hold on Kamaril again.
“Threw him in Lonan's cell, the kid might be bored,” he said turning around to walk away.
“Hey, wait a minute,” Kamaril said fighting with the guards to move forward but there was no use. He calmed down when the demon was out of sight. He was still breathing, he knew he had scored some points, at least for now.

* * *

“Are you sure it's a good idea? I mean I know your brother over did it and stuff but living in the Nephilim sanctuary which was just destroyed doesn't sound like the best idea your parents ever had, I'm just saying.” Taram said holding Samira's hand as if he was never to see her again.
It was a nice change, in front of anyone they knew he wouldn't even put a hand on her shoulder.
“I know, I don't like it much either, I can't even go to school anymore they think I'm gonna be adducted any minutes by the freaks they trusted about raising Seti,” Samira answered.

As I arrived home there was no light in the kitchen. Nicolas and Perenelle had probably gone to bed without even noticing that I was gone. If Nicolas didn’t work tonight it could mean two things, one that he was very tired which was the less likely seeing that he could work for four days straight with almost no sleep, two, that he had come to a very critical point on something and that his busy scientific mind refused to let him take anymore step toward the completion of his goal in which case he had recour to some trick for the mind during his sleep. I would have bet on the later. I walked to my room quickly making sure not to make noise and awake them. I was feeling tired. It had been a very busy night again and I needed to rest for the trip tomorrow. I hadn’t seen my horse in a while and I needed to buy a second one. I took of my clothes and fold them carefully before laying in bed. I would need to wash them before going, the smell of the dead body I had carried was still on them. I closed my eyes for a second and something stroked me. I hadn’t noticed it before but as I drunk the girl’s blood, there was nothing coming to my mind. Her blood was sweet and I felt the strength rushing inside of me but there wasn’t any thought linking my mind to hers. It was as if I had drunk something empty. I wonder how it was possible. I tried to convinced myself that it was due to drinking so much blood from men before having her as a sweet desert but it didn’t feel quite right. Why she hadn’t fought me was also puzzling me? I turned on my side and huddled in my blanket. I was already way to hot but I couldn’t bear to sleep without being cover, as if the blanket was protecting me from an invisible enemy. In this position I quickly fell asleep.
