Vampire Friday: Vampire Heart 105

Welcome to a new part of Vampire Heart unedited. Have you been bitten yet?
Sign up to be part of our awesome Vampire Friday blog hop team! You know you want to!

Summary of the previous episodes: Viorel has been tortured by his supposed family who wanted to have him burn in the sun. Strangely enough the sun didn't burn him as expected but Viorel has no memory of who he is. Following the advises of his supposed father, he left Sighișoara and is now traveling to the West. After some skirmish in a previous city, he found refuge on a boat. Viorel is now in Vienna. The little problem is that the guy at the inn was a bit of an asshole and helped capture Viorel thinking he was a vampire, which he is but nobody needs to know. Now there is a huge man (which I call the colossi) taking care of Viorel and a priest. They brought a girl. Torture my holy water... Fail. Viorel managed to confuse everyone, now he would like to get out of here. But the girl seems pretty useless. They still managed to escape and he left the girl to the care of the boat lady before going back to have two words with his captors but his power of persuasion were failing him. The priest wanted to crack a deal but Viorel is not really up to help his enemies. He finally got some blood but he can't risk to stay in Vienna. He travel to Linz were he stays a bit to learn German.
Viorel wanted to go to Praha but redirect himself toward Augsburg instead where he wants to get a horse, except that the horses are a bit scared of his vampirism and maybe something else. Viorel is really not a horse expert. Then he comes into an altercation with couple of people, he wants some fear in his blood. The girl Viorel has found seemed to enjoy the game. Viorel prepares for the nightmares that come with a feast of blood, in a rush to leave, he cross the dukedom of Lorrain.
We introduced Sorina, three weeks after the beginning of Viorel's escape.
Viorel dreamed of Sorina and woke up not really remembering anything. Traveling to Paris, he arrives at "La cour des miracles". He is rescued by a stranger who turned out to be Nicolas Flamel, the alchemist he was looking for. Nicolas does some strange experiment without Viorel's agreement. Some people are looking for Nicolas's secrets. On the other side of Europe, Sorina awakes and Viorel's past in haunting him.

Now, let's continue with Vampire Heart, right where we left of last week

I have an appointment to go see the bodies tomorrow morning. They were looking for witnesses”, Nicolas said. “Two of them only are strangely mutilated.”
I knew that I could just walk back to inside and take a rest for tonight but if he had calmed down, I was still not ready to work with him again. There was something in his behavior that I couldn’t trust.
I’m going out”, I said.
There is no need”, he answered throwing me a suspicious look.
I didn’t answered an walked away. I needed time for myself away from him. I needed to think. I decided to go have a look on the scene of the crime to see if I could find anything referring to vampire. They hadn’t bothered to move the body after the hunt, it was likely that they wouldn’t have erased other traces. Now I just have to hope that the humans discovering the body hadn’t been too messy around them. There was nothing else I could think of. If it was just me I would have flown away from the city in the morning and I would have taken Nicolas and Perenelle with me, dropped them in a house in the country side and continued my journey alone but there was nothing I could really do to convince them to leave. Leaving Paris had taken us almost three years, I knew we didn’t have that much time. If there were Transylvanian vampire in the city they were my responsibility. Not taking care of the body last night after feeding had been my second mistake and I refused to make a third one. I first walked to the river, the air of midsummer was carrying the smell of the river and the trees late blooming around it. I had never really noticed the smell of Praha before tonight. Humans couldn’t distinguish smells so easily, the new blood flowing in my veins made me more sensitive to my surrounding and so I found it easily, the track of the murder, the smell of blood was still hanging in the air becoming stronger as I walked closer to the place. It was subtle and light mixed with the polen and the sand the fishermen had moved from the bottom of the river but it was still there for me to follow. It could have been a trap but I was too confident to even think about it. According to the newspaper the body had been found near a bridge, the bridge was now in sight. The street lamps were being turned on but it didn’t matter to me much, the blood I had taken had restored my ability to see in the dark. No matter what Nicolas would say, I would go to hunt every night from now on, I couldn’t take a chance to be weak if vampire were around. I needed the strength and comfort of my vampire powers and most of all I wanted to train myself on thinking straight while filled with blood. My instincts were developed when I released the beast but I couldn’t keep on acting rashly. The smell of blood intensified. That was really peculiar because after a straight kill like the one from last night, there was nothing left, not a drop of blood. Either those vampires had a lot of fun with the men before either he had been fighting back, either he wasn’t alone and in that case. I took a deep breath, it felt a bit alien to me with the blood still propagating in me on his own but that was an human habit I had take up to calm myself down or to stop myself from thinking too much.

Pullip Grail Doll Review: Isolde (with video)

Here is a new review video for you. This time it's a grail doll video about Pullip Isolde. Isolde is a doll collaboration with H. Naoto. She is limited at 600 world wide and she is from 2008's doll carnival, which makes her pretty hard to find. She also has a twin called Adsildia which basically has complete opposite coloring.
Isolde is absolutely perfect. She was made with great care. She has a very original wig easy to take care of despite the fact that it's very wavy. She is wearing clothes in a blue and white theme which totally fit her face up. She has a sort of sweet rock-and-roll look to her with a sort of jeans jacket on top of her lacy and complex dress. She also comes with a bag and a hat and super hard to put on shoes.

Here are some pictures.

Thursday Taster 131: Parallel Slip

Hello and welcome to a new Thursday Taster, the day when awesome writers all over the blogosphere come together to give you tasty bits of their last fiction. You can find the list here.

We start right where we left off last week

"I'm not so smart you know," Amy said.
I figured I wanted to tell her. A part of me really wanted to yell at her for dragging me into this but I had sorta dragged myself in wanting to play the super hero when I knew what would happen. Maybe I wasn't too smart either on this one. It could have turned out really bad. I didn't know if Mike-nick and Jimmy were the type of guy who could understand "no" when they heard it but I was glad I wouldn't have to find out.
"The only reason I graduated high-school is because Alex was always explaining me everything and letting me copy on his homework when he couldn't bother," Amy said. "He is the smart one of the two. He is the best one and I'm just my parents big disappointment. He could always get whatever he wanted and I just had to pretend it was ok."
"What do you mean by that?"
I had seen her shoes closet, there was no way her parents had been flavoring Alex over her, at least not with stuff.
"There was a competition between us, always. I guess that's what happened with siblings. My mother wanted a boy and she had Alex, I was just the extra thing that came with. We always stayed in his room for bedtime story and then I had to move back to mine. He could chose the program on TV, he received all the praise. And then, there was the grad, he is smarter than me obviously so I had no choice but to play best second. Alex works so hard and I'm not, Alex is the best at math because he is a boy, Alex is the best at language because he likes book so much. So I thought, if I was top of my classes here, if I could pull that of. I mean they already said that biology is way easier than physics so I'm not going to get praised even if I'm valedictorian but I thought if I could do that at least I wouldn't have to believe them anymore, at least I wouldn't have to see myself as a failure anymore because I could do something that my brother couldn't do. And the truth is that I don't know how to get there so when every one ran away from Tamara's big plan on how to be top of the year, I stuck around. I mean I don't know what I thought it was really it was just something I was desperate for."

Wednesday Snippet: Demon World 108

Welcome to a new part of Demon World unedited, we start right where we left off last time.
Yue was lying on his bed looking at the ceiling, he had put his long pillow between his wings to be more comfortable, he could have been lying on his stomach but it was generally giving him huge lower back ache and he needed to think anyway. He brought his arms behind his head a spread his wings. The motive on the ceiling were rather distracting, he could see shape in the uneven rocks building it. But tonight, he wasn’t thinking arbitrary things coming back from a past he didn’t remember himself, he was thinking about what the strange boy had said. When they had told him they had the witch, his witch the one who had taken away from him who he was, he had only half believed them, but in the end, if they truly had hoped for him to die their while fighting with the others, he could only think that they had the witch for a more personal reason. There was something unclear about the witch and there was many things unclear about them. The boy was rather enigmatic. When they had brought him in, first he had thought that he might be the witch but for some reasons he had the feeling that his witch was a girl and not a demon, something else, something scary. They were all bloody and hurt, hungry and tired, they needed a shower. As much as demons loved to pretend that hygiene didn’t matter much to them he had never really though anyone staying dirty and bloody for too long. They loved the fresh blood of their victim on their skin, old blood was of no appeal to them, and there was a lot of old blood everywhere in this room, enough to bore the most enduring demon. They had brought the boy to them and the first thought which had came to Yue’s mind was that it was an easy prey to kill and he had expected him to die in half the time it took to breath in, he knew that the thought was in the mind of every demon still standing, Lonan was smiling maliciously and if that wasn’t for Odeon controlling him somehow, he would have been the first one to jump on him. But curiously that didn’t happen, the boy had been threw in the middle of the crowed and the dark robe guys throwing him had flown away as soon as possible as if they were worried about getting killed themselves. He had sat in the middle of the room not paying attention to anyone around in particular, tracing circle on the crust of the blood that surface had already drown, balancing himself from front to back again and again.
