Thursday Fiction 404: Parallel Slip 2: Rebel

Welcome back to a new Thursday Fiction, it's been a while. We continue with Parallel Slip 2: Rebel where we left of last time, following Isabelle as she figure out who she really is.

“Could you stop acting like a kid? I didn't go anywhere. Mum woke me up during a dream and then I had a headache and a bleeding nose. I think I'm sick and that might be contagious, you want to see if I have a fever?”

Malik stood away.

“You're not funny,” he said looking annoyed wondering if he should stay near her or not.

“I'm not trying to be, I feel faint, really, I lost a lot of blood. Be an angel and carry my clothes to the washing machine,” Isabelle said.

Malik looked toward the bathroom Isabelle was pointing at with her left hand.

“No, thanks, I'll go spying on the alliance alone, maybe they'll let me be heir instead of you for real this time.”

He smirked as if that was already granted. Isabelle still had one trip to make before her mother decide to do what ever she planned to her but she wouldn't really count on it. She needed to act fast if she wanted to stay her whole self and not finish like uncle Henry. She put it on her list that she needed to figure out what really happened to him too. There had to be a universe where he was alive and one where he had had the same disease and survived.

Wednesday Snippet 406: Fairy World 47

Welcome back to Wednesday Snippet. This week, we continue with Fairy World unedited just where we left off last week

"We are turning in circle," Sahel finally said, "And I'm hungry."

He had to stick his neighbor's several times with pine needles already and he himself had marks on his cheeks. Curiously, Azazel was the only one not getting hallucinations and Sahel was starting to become more and more suspicious.

"I agree, we need to stop and think," Odeon said. "I can't take it anymore I feel like a cattle going to his death."

"Seriously, you're a demon, where have you been living so far? How can a little walk get you so exhausted?" Azazel said.

"It's not the walk, it's the images," Odeon said. "How come you don't see anything?"

"I see them alright, I just ignore them," Azazel said.

"I can't ignore them," Sahel said. "How do you do it?"

"He is bluffing, he knows something we don't know," Isakael answered. "It's a demon thing, they are deceitful creatures."

Tuesday Travel 202: Witch Raising: The Book of Earth 49

Welcome to Tuesday Travel. This week we are following Brownie on her journey as she is going toward the second element: Earth.

About Witch Raising.

Witch Raising is a new series with Brownie, the heroine of Demon Soul as the main character. This series is part of the House at the Crossing Series and follows Demon Soul and Demon and Fairy but instead of being centered on the adventure of Sahel and his demon friends, it follows Brownie as she goes from being a normal girl to a bad ass witch. She has been practicing magick for a while now, saving people from difficult situations but the people at the house, including Sahel aren't happy with her new calling. Feeling that she doesn't have a choice and has to keep learning witchcraft, Brownie leaves to meet other witches.

The excerpt starts right where we left off last week.

Margarethe opened her eyes wide like saucers but didn't say anything. Her husband took her hand on the table. Brownie felt like she had given the wrong answer but it's the first that had come to her mind. She couldn't go around telling she wanted to be a witch. Being a witch wasn't really a thing you do as a profession at least not that she could think of, except if she was to have a shop or do spells for other people but she didn't know how good she would be at selling stuff and she was definitely not going to caste spells for anyone for money.

“And what attracts you in fashion?” Henry asked.

“The creativity, I like color theory, the pairing of different design,” Brownie said.

She wanted to add the fact that she would always look good, know what to wear at what event, travel the world and see all the glittery things but somehow that seemed to be too childish to add in a conversation with educated adults. It was best to keep it for when she discussed it with girls her age at the fashion club at school, except she wasn't even in the club any more.

This life had stolen fashion from her, had stolen her dreams and she didn't know if she would ever manage to get them back.

Mystery Monday 199: Murder at the Conference 96

Hello mystery lovers and welcome to a new Mystery Monday.
I hope you had a great week-end. Here is a new little part of Murder at the Conference. Murder at the Conference is a stand alone sequel to Harajuku Kiss.

We start right were we left off last week:

“This is not fat shaming Christa. An overweight person giving advice on dieting is like a ballerina trying to teach you how to solve the Schrödinger equation. Look, you eat like a rabbit for a month with no carbohydrates unless they are plant based, no sugar, no bread, no pasta, no rice, no egg, no meat except for chicken and no salmon because it's a fatty fish, then you binge at the tabehodai pizza and eat donuts for breakfast and diner for a week and then you're back at being a rabbit. Have you lost weight yet? No. So not wanting to take advice on what I eat from you, is not fat shaming, it's me doing whatever I want with my body.”

“It's you doing whatever you want with your body while still subtly mentioning that I'm fat. That's called fat shaming.”

I sighed in annoyance but I wasn't going to let it go this time.
