Thursday Fiction 362: Parallel Slip 2: Rebel

Welcome back to a new Thursday Fiction, it's been a while. We continue with Parallel Slip 2: Rebel where we left of last time, following Isabelle as she figure out who she really is.

She was already running down the stairs so she let her other self get her downstairs and rushing out the door. She was wearing a white dress with intricate lace and very tiny white shoes. She wondered for a second why her other selves always seemed to be happy and full of energy when she was mostly feeling sad and depleted.

She wanted to keep on observing what it was to be happy from someone else's eyes but she remembered that Romulus was waiting and she had to get to him as quickly as possible before her mother could find her. He was standing a few meters away in a suit that probably predated the first word war, something from very old time, but not so old, other from that he was looking exactly the same as the Romulus version in her universe. Isabelle was about to take over her other self when she threw herself as Romulus. He made her spin for a bit in his arms. Isabelle was too surprised to react.

Wednesday Snippet 364: Fairy World 5

Welcome back to Wednesday Snippet. This week, we continue with Fairy World unedited just where we left off last week

"I don't know what you are talking about," Isakael said.

"She had the same problem," Kelpie answered. "Her wings changed color and she became someone else."

"My wings change colors when I'm upset, just like you," Isakael said pointing at Sahel's wings which were changing colors uncontrollably. He knew exactly what they meant but he was far from ready to let them know. He had no idea what kind of god was inside of him and he had no intention to find out. With magic disappearing, there was a chance that the process would stop, at least he hoped so, he was not in the rush to bring magic back even if he needed to get to Jezabel.

"Not just like me and you know it, Isa," Sahel said. "I can't let you get near Seti and go bonkers. The gods have a tendency to hate each other."

"And you think that you can stop me if I change?" Isakael asked.

Sahel formed a ball of fire in his hand.

"I can do everything I want," he said smiling.

"Wait, you still have magic?" Kelpie said not believing his eyes. The other demons had all started to taste their magic too. It seemed intact.

Tuesday Travel 161: Witch Raising: The Book of Earth 8

Welcome to Tuesday Travel. This week we are following Brownie on her journey as she is going toward the second element: Earth.

About Witch Raising.

Witch Raising is a new series with Brownie, the heroine of Demon Soul as the main character. This series is part of the House at the Crossing Series and follows Demon Soul and Demon and Fairy but instead of being centered on the adventure of Sahel and his demon friends, it follows Brownie as she goes from being a normal girl to a bad ass witch. She has been practicing magick for a while now, saving people from difficult situations but the people at the house, including Sahel aren't happy with her new calling. Feeling that she doesn't have a choice and has to keep learning witchcraft, Brownie leaves to meet other witches.

The excerpt, we start right where we left off last week.

She had a few books on the seat next to her but nothing too suspicious, she didn't think Daphy could read the titles from the other side of the compartment. She decided to pilled them up anyway with the spin facing the seat. She had enough talk about magic with stranger at her last stop for a life time. Thinking about it again, Josh could have been killed following her and once there he didn't really do anything either, he had been more of a nuisance than anything else. Still she was sort of happy that he had come and he didn't give her a hard time about using magic either even if he didn't seem to like the way she was doing it. But what could he know?

Mystery Monday 157: Murder at the Conference 54

Hello and welcome to a new Mystery Monday.

I hope you had a great week-end. Here is a new little part of Murder at the Conference. Murder at the Conference is a stand alone sequel to Harajuku Kiss.

We start right were we left off last time:

“You always have rice and miso soup,” I said.

“No, today I'm having okonomiyaki,” he said very proud to prove me wrong.

I shook my head with a smile.

“That's way too heavy for breakfast, my stomach would never allow it,” I said.

My stomach didn't allow much for breakfast. Fruits were generally all right and viennoiseries. Nothing creamy except yoghurt in small amount and even sometimes the yoghurt was hard to finish. Then if I was to wake up later like on the week-end, somehow, I could eat something English style, even an Ulster fry would be ok if it was close to lunch time. When I was younger, I would wake up for lunch at the weekend and I was force to eat whatever my parents had prepared for lunch and it was terrible. That sinking feeling of nausea that overcame me just with the smell and the difficulty with every single pieces of chicken or french fries. I was glad since I moved out I never had to go through that again. I could eat what I pleased whenever I pleased, which hadn't been too good for my weight but I was going to take care of that soon. Maybe after China, maybe during China when Seiji wasn't around to feed me. Yes, that could be the start of it.

“I don't know why your stomach is so picky only for breakfast,” Seiji said.

About Harajuku Kiss

At times, life can be so depressing. She is walking her usual recovery tour in Harajuku, finishing with a crepe, tying to forget that her boyfriend dumped her once again for the week-end... When the unthinkable happens... A boy stops in front of her in the street and kisses her, in to discover more about him, she is dragged into a dangerous game of mystery. A biologist has been murdered and a deadly virus is on the loose. First suspect: the mysterious Harajuku's stranger.
