WeWriWar 335: The House at the Crossing 41

Hello everybody and welcome for a new Sunday of writing with Weekend Writing Warrior and Snippet Sunday!
I have been working on rebuilding my daily blog post and it's been working pretty well so far.

Let's continue with  "The House at the Crossing" and it's a prequel to Demon Soul and the demon series. It's a bit of a mix of Fantasy and Science-fiction.

It follows one of the books more obscure character as she first come into the House. It's suppose to explain why there are so many people is the house and sort of where they come from and at the same time be a first time adventure for the main character as she needs to adapt to her new role and the new version of who she is.

Let's start right at where we left off last week !

My other self rises an eyebrow and looks at me and I can feel I have the same expression on my face. It's quite strange to see yourself like this, it's like looking in a mirror while everything else is different. I never knew I actually looked like that.
“What realms?”
Malicia is done with her bottle and I place it on the table. She is so tiny. I took a sip of my mug and the tea has gone quite a bit colder, it's still good though.
“The doors to places where other creatures roam the earth,” Teresa said.
“She'll need to be changed,” I said.
It's not that I want to interrupt the conversation but realms, other creatures, if it didn't go crazy seeing other versions of me, this might actually do it.

Vampire Friday: Vampire Heart 291

Welcome to a new part of Vampire Heart unedited. Have you been bitten yet? Sign up to be part of our awesome Vampire Friday blog hop team! You know you want to!

Summary of the previous episodes: Viorel has been tortured by his supposed family who wanted to have him burn in the sun. Strangely enough the sun didn't burn him as expected but Viorel has no memory of who he is. Following the advises of his supposed father, he left Sighișoara and is now traveling to the West. After some skirmish in a previous city, he found refuge on a boat. Viorel is now in Vienna. The little problem is that the guy at the inn was a bit of an asshole and helped capture Viorel thinking he was a vampire, which he is but nobody needs to know. Now there is a huge man (which I call the colossi) taking care of Viorel and a priest. They brought a girl. Torture my holy water... Fail. Viorel managed to confuse everyone, now he would like to get out of here. But the girl seems pretty useless. They still managed to escape and he left the girl to the care of the boat lady before going back to have two words with his captors but his power of persuasion were failing him. The priest wanted to crack a deal but Viorel is not really up to help his enemies. He finally got some blood but he can't risk to stay in Vienna. He travel to Linz were he stays a bit to learn German.
Viorel wanted to go to Praha but redirect himself toward Augsburg instead where he wants to get a horse, except that the horses are a bit scared of his vampirism and maybe something else. Viorel is really not a horse expert. Then he comes into an altercation with couple of people, he wants some fear in his blood. The girl Viorel has found seemed to enjoy the game. Viorel prepares for the nightmares that come with a feast of blood, in a rush to leave, he cross the dukedom of Lorrain.
We introduced Sorina, three weeks after the beginning of Viorel's escape.
Viorel dreamed of Sorina and woke up not really remembering anything. Traveling to Paris, he arrives at "La cour des miracles". He is rescued by a stranger who turned out to be Nicolas Flamel, the alchemist he was looking for. Nicolas does some strange experiment without Viorel's agreement. Some people are looking for Nicolas's secrets. On the other side of Europe, Sorina awakes and Viorel's past in haunting him. Viorel discovered that he can change into a wolf but that's not the easiest thing to handle. After finding out that a younger version of Nicolas might not be acting with his best interest at heart, Viorel decides to leave for the north. He is now traveling with two people, Alexej who needed to get out of Praha and Irina who he accidentally rescued.

Now, let's continue with Vampire Heart, right where we left off last week.

“You can’t be serious, there are dragons nesting out there, guess where they are going to feed, in the city centre, where the people are, you can’t be serious about wanting to go there,” she said still with the same hysterically panicking voice.
“Dragons are tales for people, gossips, stories to scare people around, there are no dragons, I have never seen one and if there were dragons, I don’t think they would be out so easily, people would arm themselves with swords and go after them.”
Irina shook her head in disbelieve.
“Dragons exist, they are not tales and there are famous in this part of the country. They come from the North, in the snowy lands, the kingdom of Sweden, and Duchy of Finland, they cross the sea when summer come and go down to the South to find a place to nest, they need warm to breed, and it’s was hotter here than up there,” Irina said and paused.
She might have seen the disbelieve on my face because she continued with her eyes looking straight at my face.

Thursday Fiction 282: Parallel Slip

Welcome back to a new part of Parallel Slip, where we follow the adventures of Frederique through her slip in different parallel universes.

Let's start right where we left off last week.

"Do you know where we can check the easiness of university degree on a national level?" I asked.
"I don't think that exist," Alex answered.
"I'm sure it exist somewhere, " I said, wondering at the same time if Amy had been faking her sources.
"How would you classify that? By the achievement level, imagine comparing physics and history. They have almost no classes, like four a week which totally doesn't call for commitment so it's easy not to show up. If we are on campus early morning, it's a lot easier to stay there and go to classes. Then in the end it depends how much you want to work and get your degree. I don't think it has anything to do with the difficulty level if there is one. Some people always strive at history but can't even equalize a basic chemical equation and same, I can take care of a math problem and I'd rather do it than memorize the chronology of the French Kings," Alex said.
He had to be right. There was no way to quantify and compare how easy a degree was. For me too history would have been hell, and not for dragging myself to classes, just the all taking care about other people's life, especially dead people.
"So what did Billy say?" Alex asked.
"That I'm good with the dead cat that's alive and he'll take care of the dead people who are really dead," I said.
"You wanted to go into history?"

Wednesday Snippet 283: Blue Angel

Welcome to a new part of Blue Angel unedited, we start right where we left off last time

“The fairies, these little annoying things that always fly all around you making noised in your ears that tickle a lot and throwing powder that make you sneeze? These fairies?” he asked.
“Yes, this fairies,” the demon answered. He seemed to be starting to feel annoyed and Kamaril wished to finish things here as soon as possible.
“So what in the fairy world?” Kamaril asked not caring about hiding his impatience.
“I want you to go there, to reach the palace and to bring me an angel with blue wings,” the demon said.
“An angel, shouldn't I go to the angel world to get one?” Kamaril asked.
“This girl is particular, she had blue wings and I was informed that she had left the angel world with a letter for the fairy queen,” the demon said.
“So you want me to intercept the letter and to give it to you,” Kamaril said.
“No, I don't care about the letter, just bring me the girl,” the demon said.
“Well you are going to need to tell me what she looks like because there are a lot of angel girls out there,” Kamaril said.
“But only one in the fairy world and the moment and only one with blue wings,” the demon said him too getting impatient.
“Alright,” Kamaril said.
He started to walk away with his trident in hand, half expecting someone to stop him but noone did. In his back the demon seemed to have an interesting conversation with Lonan about the sea and the fairies.
“An angel with blue wings, you gotta be kidding me, where the hell am I going to find this?” Kamaril said walking out of the cave.
He heard foot steps behind him and planted the trident in the ground before turning around. His hands was still shacking with the electricity of the trident, damn that demon. The one in front of him was fat and stopped out of breath as if he had been running a marathon.
“What do you want?” Kamaril asked.
For all answer he took a little back made of tissues out of his pocket and present it to him. Kamaril seized it and the demon placed his hands on his knees bending in front of him. Kamaril was sure that this one either wasn't going to live too long. He opened the back, it was filled with white fairy dust. He placed his finger inside and took some out to make sure.
“You gotta be kidding me,” he said.
“You... will need this... to go to the... Fairy World...” the other demon said.
Kamaril dived the bag in his pocket and pulled on his sleeve before grabbing his trident trying to minimize the electric wave but there was no use. He sighed and turn around, nothing in this life came easy.
