Wednesday Snippet 264: Blue Angel

Welcome to a new part of Blue Angel unedited, we start right where we left off last time.

He placed his hands on the wall again and started to climb, making sure that his feet were in the right position and stabilized before using them to propel himself higher. He moved higher than before, breathing heavily, his hair sticking to his sweaty forehead forbidding the sweat to drip in his eyes. The window was still too far. He looked up once again trying to see how far but the unusual movement made him lost his balance and he fell back on his feet. He wasn't even high enough to fall on his ass. He was feeling ridiculous and angry, he turned around to look at the angel.
Jezabel was kneeling on the floor, her hands joined as if praying she was looking at him with a sweet smile on her lips.
“What the hell are you doing?” Kelpie said.
Jezabel frowned at the word but didn't let him notice.
“I'm praying to help you, of course,” she answered.
“Praying to help me,” Kelpie said.
“Yes, help you to do what ever you are doing,” she answered still smiling.
It was as if she was impermeable to anything around her and it was annoying Kelpie even more. She was so calm and smiling in the uncomfortable prison and he couldn't understand why, it was her first day, she should have been crying, yelling, hitting the door until her fist burst. But here she was, smiling, looking at him and praying.
“Well, you can stop right now, it's not helping and it's very disturbing,” Kelpie said, “and while you're at it, stop looking at me like I'm a clown that you have to save.”
“Praying is helping, praying is always helping,” Jezabel said.

Tuesday Travel 53: Witch Raising: The Book of Fire

Welcome to Tuesday Travel. Every Tuesday, I will be presenting an excerpt of Witch Raising: The Book of Fire, the book in which Brownie, the heroine of Demon Soul, is undertaking an initiatory journey.

About Witch Raising: The Book of Fire

Witch Raising is a new series with Brownie, the heroine of Demon Soul as the main character. This series is part of the House at the Crossing Series and follows Demon Soul and Demon and Fairy but instead of being centered on the adventure of Sahel and his demon friends, it follows Brownie as she goes from being a normal girl to a bad ass witch. She has been practicing magick for a while now, saving people from difficult situations but the people at the house, including Sahel aren't happy with her new calling. Feeling that she doesn't have a choice and has to keep learning witchcraft, Brownie leaves to meet other witches.

The excerpt, we start where we left off last week

They took one more fly of stairs and turned right at the top. The woman pushed the door open.
"Here is the light, here is the key, lock when you go out. We haven't had anything stolen in a while but with the festival it gets crowded and people from outside sometimes manage to find their way in in front of me and Rori. So please be careful, there is also a safe if you have something more valuable you don't want to carry around with you when you explore the city. It's also safer to use it if you share the room just in case you're not in when your roommate is and vise versa." The woman said without taking a breath. It was as if she had said it so many times that she didn't even need to think anymore to say it.
"I understand," Brownie said. She placed her bag on the bed near the window.
"Now, has anyone read your palm before?" the woman asked.
Apparently, that's what she had been looking for because her face light up asking the question.
"I don't think so," Brownie said.
There had been some sort of attempt but nothing she considered like real palm reading from anyone.
"All right, let's sit down and see if I'm able to teach you how to use the cards, because if you don't have any abilities, it would be quite useless to try," the woman said. "Show me your hands."
Brownie looked at her as they both sat on the bed. What if something was clearly wrong, what if that woman saw something bad and demon related.
"Maybe that's not such a good idea," Brownie said after all.
The woman laugh.
"I don't see dead or disease of things like that," she said. "Only very practical magic."

Mystery Monday 56: Harajuku Kiss

Welcome Mystery Monday. For this weekly writing blog post, I will be presenting snippets of my novel Harajuku Kiss, a mystery romance in Japan.
I hope you'll enjoy following our heroine through her thoughts and adventures.

About Harajuku Kiss

At times, life can be so depressing. She is walking her usual recovery tour in Harajuku, finishing with a crepe, trying to forget that her boyfriend dumped her once again for the week-end... When the unthinkable happens... A boy stops in front of her in the street and kisses her, in the middle of the street, before running away.
Trying to discover more about him, she is dragged into a dangerous game of mystery. A biologist has been murdered and a deadly virus is on the loose. First suspect: the mysterious Harajuku's stranger.

Here is the snippet for this week

I opened on laptop with was always turned on, playing around with the memory stick waiting to the screen to light up so that I could log in. So many information could be stored in such a little device, it could be an entire library in my fingers, with pictures, movies... research maybe, a life long project. My life wouldn’t fit in, I have tones of storage disks on my shelves, but I know a lot of people who have a life that would only fill half of this memory stick. However I had the feeling that his guy’s life would somehow not be summarized so easily.
“Let’s see,” I told myself out loud.

WeWriWar 326: The House at the Crossing 32

Hello everybody and welcome for a new Sunday of writing with Weekend Writing Warrior and Snippet Sunday!
Let's continue with  "The House at the Crossing" and it's a prequel to Demon Soul and the demon series. It's a bit of a mix of Fantasy and Science-fiction.
It follows one of the books more obscure character as she first come into the House. It's suppose to explain why there are so many people is the house and sort of where they come from and at the same time be a first time adventure for the main character as she needs to adapt to her new role and the new version of who she is.

There is the memoir challenge starting tomorrow at Shut up and Write. Anyone else doing it?

Let's start right at where we left off last week !

I'm suddenly wondering if I'll be next and where I will be when it happens. Then I see the exact same scene as before, me getting the tea from a different angle in the room, and then another, and then another. They are not gone, they are inside of me and I don't feel different, I still feel like myself.
“You will do what you have to in your respective reality, you might even go out while some of you remain here, why not?” Teresa said. “But while you are here, you will experience everything, always. It just takes a bit of time to adjust.”
There is only three of us left, the three originals, from the moment we arrived. Though, the room is still as big as when all of us were here.
“You see only what you need to see, the house provides, for everything, I haven't been shopping in years but if you feel like you need to... a lot of the inhabitant still can't shake some of their habits.”
