Wednesday Snippet 246: Blue Angel

Welcome to a new part of Blue Angel unedited, we start right where we left off last time.

He arrived to the stairs the demons had taken him through. He stopped in front of them looking up and started to climb slowly. There were still noise in the room he had just left and it came up to him and the stairs was stiffly going up at taking turns. He was trying to distinguish any noises coming from above, ready to fight anyone deciding to go down.
Lonan ran through the corridor after Kamaril, laughing like a devil and didn't think twice before climbing the stairs. Using his wings to go even faster he collided into Kamaril who turned around suddenly ready to blow his head of.
“You could have waited for me and play with the others, you're so bad,” Lonan said pulling out his tongue again and kicking him in the tibia.
“I told you, as a demon you are on your own, get that, no if you do anything like that again, I'll make sure to drown you before taking one step further,” Kamaril said angrily.
“You won't do that,” Lonan said pouting.
“Oh sure I will,” Kamaril said menacing. “Wait!”
Noise were coming from the bottom of the stairs.
“You didn't kill those guys?” Kamaril asked.
“No, I didn't Odeon said I cannot kill people all the time because if I do I won't have anyone to play with,” Lonan said.
“Damn you, really, and damn you're brothers too you better find new one cause they can't seem to be able to raise you properly,” Kamaril said pushing him up the stairs to put himself behind him.
“Hey,” Lonan started to complain but he stopped short looking at the resolution and concentration on Kamaril's face. His mouth was closed tight and his eyes were fixed on an invisible point down the stairs.

About Witch Raising: The Book of Fire
Witch Raising is a new series with Brownie, the heroine of Demon Soul as the main character. This series is part of the House at the Crossing Series and follows Demon Soul and Demon and Fairy but instead of being centered on the adventure of Sahel and his demon friends, it follows Brownie as she goes from being a normal girl to a bad ass witch. She has been practicing magick for a while now, saving people from difficult situations but the people at the house, including Sahel aren't happy with her new calling. Feeling that she doesn't have a choice and has to keep learning witchcraft, Brownie leaves to meet other witches.

The excerpt, we start where we left off last week

“I think you have time, Antoine isn't back yet, I haven't seem him all day,” Grenadine said.
“Antoine is not taking me,” Brownie answered.
Grenadine looked at her suspiciously as Brownie to her back the the adjacent bathroom. She followed her sister but stayed at the door.
“And where are you going really?” Grenadine asked.
“It's better if you don't know,” Brownie said, “Actually I'm not telling anyone.”
“So you're going to the Demon World again,” Grenadine said crossing her arm on her chest.
“No, I'm not, I'll stay right with the humans,” Brownie said.
“Swear it!”
“Swear criss-cross my heart if I lie I'll burst on fire, that I'm not going anywhere near the Demon World. Actually, I'll be much further away from it,” Brownie answered.
“Ok, but then why? What are you going to do?” Grenadine said.
“Hopefully, I'll be learning magic.”
She finished by packing up her tooth brush and push past Grenadine back into her bedroom.
“You could go learn magic with Gideon and come back here every night, you could even camp in Sedana's library,” Grenadine said.
“The magic I'm talking about is a bit different,” Brownie said.
“He has all the books and if he doesn't there is still places the library leads to that have them, I have never seen so much books in my life, I swear,” Grenadine said.
Brownie wanted to answer that coming from Grenadine who never really saw that many books before that wasn't much help but instead she simply said.
“I need life practice, a teacher, and it has to be at a special place,” Brownie said. “I can't really explain why but they are some people I need to find and they will help me with my problem.”
“I still believe someone should know where you are going, it's not safe out there most of the time for a girl all alone,” Grenadine said.
It used to be safe once, or maybe she just didn't see the danger and so believed it wasn't there because there had always been demons, there had always been fairies and dark things and crazy creepy humans too, oh those were maybe the worse because you wouldn't see them coming. But there had been one time when she felt like she could just walk from home to school and come back without looking over her shoulder.

Mystery Monday 35: Harajuku Kiss

Welcome Mystery Monday. For this weekly writing blog post, I will be presenting snippets of my novel Harajuku Kiss, a mystery romance in Japan.
I hope you'll enjoy following our heroine through her thoughts and adventures.

About Harajuku Kiss

At times, life can be so depressing. She is walking her usual recovery tour in Harajuku, finishing with a crepe, trying to forget that her boyfriend dumped her once again for the week-end... When the unthinkable happens... A boy stops in front of her in the street and kisses her, in the middle of the street, before running away.
Trying to discover more about him, she is dragged into a dangerous game of mystery. A biologist has been murdered and a deadly virus is on the loose. First suspect: the mysterious Harajuku's stranger.

Here is the snippet for this week, we start a new chapter.

Present, at home

The strangest thing of all, one moment only, but it had been enough to erase all my grieves or at least so I thought until they caught up with me. Memory is one very extraordinary thing. We select unconsciously what we are going to remember, the tiny little moments of perfection in my relationships stuck to my mind. As much as I knew it wouldn't improve, I still hoped. I wonder if it wasn't a attempt to protect myself which ultimately backfired. An unknown, different kind of pain scared me. When I woke up one more time crying in the middle of the night, everything had been mixed up in my brain. The new guy seemed a lot different in the dream and my ex-boyfriend had been the one asking me to save him, with the strange idea that he always left because I repeatedly failed.

WeWriWar 306: The House at the Crossing 11

Hello everybody and welcome for a new Sunday of writing with Weekend Writing Warrior and Snippet Sunday!

I decided to change things a little bit so for the next few months, I'm going to present you my new WIP. It's called "The House at the Crossing" and it's a prequel to Demon Soul and the demon series. It's a bit of a mix of Fantasy and Science-fiction.
It follows one of the books more obscure character as she first come into the House. It's suppose to explain why there are so many people is the house and sort of where they come from and at the same time be a first time adventure for the main character as she needs to adapt to her new role and the new version of who she is.

Since it's a WIP, and I still haven't finished the first draft, it's still really row. Hopefully, we'll see some improvement as it goes.

Let's start right at where we left off last week!

“We're not going to turn on the heating in September, damn it.”
Yes, the years have been getting colder and colder early on but they still maintain that the heating should only be turn on and off at some specific date. It never made much sense to me, I mean if your cold just turn it on already. I remember being cold when living with my mother, until right in the middle of November and sometimes she would still pretend it was too early for heating and March was way too late to turn it off. I don't want Hiroshi to be cold.
“Just breath,” Aunt Teresa says. “This house, only has whatever you need. Not whatever you want, but whatever you truly need.”
