Wednesday Snippet 296: Blue Angel

Welcome to a new part of Blue Angel unedited, we start right where we left off last week.

This week we are going back to Kelpie and Jezabel.

“Where are we going?” Jezabel asked.

“To the Tweegs' village, my grand-father has a house there.” Kelpie answered. “He always said that someday I would have to hide there, I guess he meant today.”

“Nobody can know the future except for God of course, because he knows everything,” Jezabel answered yawning.

“You should try explaining that to the people of light someday, they would probably be very interested,” Kelpie answered.

Jezabel felt a little bit heavier on his back, he walked a little bit slower, making sure not to shake her too much in case she would fall while sleeping. This angel seemed afraid of nothing while being so weak. How could she fall asleep in the middle of a conversation in a place like this. Her body felt hot on his back and with the rain pouring over them, she might as well catch a cold. Kelpie wondered again if it was possible for angels to get sick. She was sick after curing him because her stupid God had decided that she needed to be punished for it, what a joke really. He wondered how girls could always fall in love with people hurting them, it was typical. Was Kallisto going to fall in love with Kordelius now that they were married? He had tried his best to be nice to her and to make her happy, he would have given her everything she wanted but there was no use, she never accepted him even at the last moment and now it was too late.

Kelpie took a deep breath, it was nice to finally be able to breath comfortably. He didn't even thank the angel for it. But since he was carrying her now that would do for it. Damn reduced to behave like a vulgar horse in his own forest. Things were really getting worse and worse. At least at the Tweegs he would be able to take a break and think a bit more deeply about what he was supposed to do with his life now that his plans had been crushed. He wondered if it had all been written in the stars all along and if his grand-father had made a mistake. Kallisto had married Kordelius but nothing seemed to have change. The crazy queen was still in charge and throwing innocent people in cages while the rest of the forest was polluted and dying. Was it the end his grand-father had trying to avoid? Was everybody going to die soon?

Kelpie needed some answers but with the pouring rain, the forest around him was mute and Fern was nowhere to be found. He had expected the faun to jump on him calling him young master again and telling him everything he could about the wedding but strangely the faun wasn't here. At least nobody else than the Tweegs were going to see him carrying somebody on his back and as they were pretty secretive, his honor would be safe.
