Wednesday Snippet 360: Blue Angel

Welcome to a new part of Blue Angel unedited, we start right where we left off last week.

 This week,  we are with Kamaril under the sea.
 

“Yes,” she answered.

“And aren't you supposed to send me a bunch of messengers to ask me for an audience?” Kamaril asked.

“That would be nice indeed,” the queen said laughing while still turning into circle in front of him. Her flipper was glittering in the water, pink and purple and silver and as the color hit Kamaril's eyes, he remembered.

“You are slaves,” he said.

The mermaid stopped in front of him, her face just few centimeters away form his.

“Don't say it this way,” she complained moving an angry finger in front of his nose.

“But that's the way it is,” Kamaril continued. “I can do absolutely anything I want to you, absolutely anything.”

As he said it Kamaril wondered how Azazel would feel if he could see him now. He had the queen of the mermaid all for himself and she was here only to please him.

“You used to be a lot nicer,” the mermaid said turning around.

Kamaril place one arm around her shoulder and pulled her body towards his pressing her softly.

“I can be really nice again, but first, I need to take care of my trident,” he said.

Vampire Friday: Vampire Heart 369

Summary of the previous episodes: Viorel has been tortured by his supposed family who wanted to have him burn in the sun. Strangely enough the sun didn't burn him as expected but Viorel has no memory of who he is. Following the advises of his supposed father, he left Sighișoara and is now traveling to the West. After some skirmish in a previous city, he found refuge on a boat. Viorel is now in Vienna. The little problem is that the guy at the inn was a bit of an asshole and helped capture Viorel thinking he was a vampire, which he is but nobody needs to know. Now there is a huge man (which I call the colossi) taking care of Viorel and a priest. They brought a girl. Torture my holy water... Fail. Viorel managed to confuse everyone, now he would like to get out of here. But the girl seems pretty useless. They still managed to escape and he left the girl to the care of the boat lady before going back to have two words with his captors but his power of persuasion were failing him. The priest wanted to crack a deal but Viorel is not really up to help his enemies. He finally got some blood but he can't risk to stay in Vienna. He travel to Linz were he stays a bit to learn German.

Viorel wanted to go to Praha but redirect himself toward Augsburg instead where he wants to get a horse, except that the horses are a bit scared of his vampirism and maybe something else. Viorel is really not a horse expert. Then he comes into an altercation with couple of people, he wants some fear in his blood. The girl Viorel has found seemed to enjoy the game. Viorel prepares for the nightmares that come with a feast of blood, in a rush to leave, he cross the dukedom of Lorrain.
We introduced Sorina, three weeks after the beginning of Viorel's escape.
Viorel dreamed of Sorina and woke up not really remembering anything. Traveling to Paris, he arrives at "La cour des miracles". He is rescued by a stranger who turned out to be Nicolas Flamel, the alchemist he was looking for. Nicolas does some strange experiment without Viorel's agreement. Some people are looking for Nicolas's secrets. On the other side of Europe, Sorina awakes and Viorel's past in haunting him. Viorel discovered that he can change into a wolf but that's not the easiest thing to handle. After finding out that a younger version of Nicolas might not be acting with his best interest at heart, Viorel decides to leave for the north. He is now traveling with two people, Alexej who needed to get out of Praha and Irina who he accidentally rescued.

 

 Now, let's continue with Vampire Heart, right where we left off last time.

I looked at them as they loaded the body at the back of their carriage. It was an unusual carriage for hunters as it had a roof. Normally hunter carriage only had a back where to put the animals and tools and the hunter would sit at the front no matter the weather.

They still sat at the front. The animal was locked in the cage and I couldn't see it from where I stood. I lowered myself and jumped on the ground. I ran to the carriage from behind, making sure that they wouldn't see me. It was not easy, they seemed to be expecting the animal to break free any minute. I wonder what it was all about with the silver but I wasn't going to ask them. I could see the animal through the window. Its skin was smoking for sure. There was bloody holes in his fur and skin and white smoke was coming out from them. I wasn't sure what kind of reaction that was. I sat at the back of the carriage. I wanted to climb on the roof but it was too low and they would have notice me for sure by turning around. The trip was uncomfortable but as we reach the city, the streets were empty. I jumped down and rolled on the ground before we reached the church.

Thursday Fiction 357: Parallel Slip: Rebel

Welcome back to a new Thursday Fiction. We continue where we left of last week, following Isabelle as she figure out who she really is.

“I am,” Isabelle said.

She was, or at least she had convinced herself that she was but now that she had a secret message in her pocket she started to remember how she once felt about him. A childhood one sided crush, he would like her too if she was in his universe but nothing could happen in between universe and bla bla bla the forever repeated excuse that had finally sunk... But what if now that they were both adult he realized that there was no reason for not using the body of his awesome other self for more intimate purposes.

“You are or you wish you were? He is not real remember, the guy who talked to you tonight is not the one living in that body most of the time.”

“I know that and I am over it.”

“Good, because his father really wanted you married, in both universe,” Malik said.

Isabelle shrugged, she wasn't marrying anyone, at least not before at least ten years or thirty years or not before her mother died, her mother would never allow her to marry someone she liked and she will never say yes to someone her mother hand picked.

“It was such a delightful evening,” he mother said coming back.

She turned around to wave at Mike, making Isabelle feel nauseated. Her father was ten time the man Mike was and her mother had destroyed him for what? Power? It was insane.

Tuesday Travel 153: Witch Raising: The Book of Fire

Welcome to Tuesday Travel. Every Tuesday, I will be presenting an excerpt of Witch Raising: The Book of Fire, the book in which Brownie, the heroine of Demon Soul, is undertaking an initiatory journey.  

About Witch Raising: The Book of Fire

Witch Raising is a new series with Brownie, the heroine of Demon Soul as the main character. This series is part of the House at the Crossing Series and follows Demon Soul and Demon and Fairy but instead of being centered on the adventure of Sahel and his demon friends, it follows Brownie as she goes from being a normal girl to a bad ass witch. She has been practicing magick for a while now, saving people from difficult situations but the people at the house, including Sahel aren't happy with her new calling. Feeling that she doesn't have a choice and has to keep learning witchcraft, Brownie leaves to meet other witches.

The excerpt, we start where we left off last week

She had an image of the demons in her mind the wind blew toward the cave, stronger and stronger making the trees branches yell as it passed the leaves were falling down all around them, the wind was coming up but didn't touch them, the candles where shining brighter their flam more and more straight and elongated in the wind. The incense was burning in Brownie's hand but she didn't dare to put it down hence it might break the spell. The image of the demons was coming clearer and clearer to her mind as the wind reached the demons one by one and messed with their head. Every time they inhale, every time they breathed there was something coming inside them, something poisonous, almost lethal. She hadn't know what she wanted them to do but know she knew. They started fighting with each other. The humans in the distance were yelling, crying, running away. She didn't know if they were going to be safe but that wasn't her problem anymore, she had freed them now they had to do the rest and run for their lifes. Brownie was deep inside the battle, she was ridding the wind and it was taking her from demons to demons, all fourteen of them were here and all fourteen of them were under her spell she could almost control them if she wanted but she didn't, she wanted to let them self destruct, that was something they were good at and that was pretty impressive.
