Welcome to Tuesday Travel. Every Tuesday, I will be presenting an excerpt of Witch Raising: The Book of Fire, the book in which Brownie, the heroine of Demon Soul, is undertaking an initiatory journey.
Witch Raising is a new series with Brownie, the heroine of Demon Soul as the main character. This series is part of the House at the Crossing Series and follows Demon Soul and Demon and Fairy but instead of being centered on the adventure of Sahel and his demon friends, it follows Brownie as she goes from being a normal girl to a bad ass witch. She has been practicing magick for a while now, saving people from difficult situations but the people at the house, including Sahel aren't happy with her new calling. Feeling that she doesn't have a choice and has to keep learning witchcraft, Brownie leaves to meet other witches.
The excerpt, we start where we left off last week
Despite the small brise, the candles' flams were steady.
"I call on the moon, oh bright that shines, master of the wind for all eternity." She lit the green candle. "Rise the wind and let it blow."
The wind turned around the circle but didn't enter it, it was like a swirl around them and Brownie felt Josh shift a little bit but she didn't have time for him. The wind wsa also rising inside of her, she could feel the power of it blowing in her chest raging to get out. She took all the fourteen incense tick in her hands and lit them using the green candle, making sure she had all fourteen of them, at the same time and didn't forget any of them.
"Rise the wind and let it blow." She repeated, the last word half eaten but the wind growing now up from the circle ground toward the sky.
"Find the demons and mess with their mind for tonight and tomorrow they wouldn't know, where they start and end."
