Welcome to Tuesday Travel. Every Tuesday, I will be presenting an excerpt of Witch Raising: The Book of Fire, the book in which Brownie, the heroine of Demon Soul, is undertaking an initiatory journey.
Witch Raising is a new series with Brownie, the heroine of Demon Soul as the main character. This series is part of the House at the Crossing Series and follows Demon Soul and Demon and Fairy but instead of being centered on the adventure of Sahel and his demon friends, it follows Brownie as she goes from being a normal girl to a bad ass witch. She has been practicing magick for a while now, saving people from difficult situations but the people at the house, including Sahel aren't happy with her new calling. Feeling that she doesn't have a choice and has to keep learning witchcraft, Brownie leaves to meet other witches.
The excerpt, we start where we left off last week
She had an image of the demons in her mind the wind blew toward the cave, stronger and stronger making the trees branches yell as it passed the leaves were falling down all around them, the wind was coming up but didn't touch them, the candles where shining brighter their flam more and more straight and elongated in the wind. The incense was burning in Brownie's hand but she didn't dare to put it down hence it might break the spell. The image of the demons was coming clearer and clearer to her mind as the wind reached the demons one by one and messed with their head. Every time they inhale, every time they breathed there was something coming inside them, something poisonous, almost lethal. She hadn't know what she wanted them to do but know she knew. They started fighting with each other. The humans in the distance were yelling, crying, running away. She didn't know if they were going to be safe but that wasn't her problem anymore, she had freed them now they had to do the rest and run for their lifes. Brownie was deep inside the battle, she was ridding the wind and it was taking her from demons to demons, all fourteen of them were here and all fourteen of them were under her spell she could almost control them if she wanted but she didn't, she wanted to let them self destruct, that was something they were good at and that was pretty impressive.
