About Harajuku Kiss

At times, life can be so depressing. She is walking her usual recovery tour in Harajuku, finishing with a crepe, trying to forget that her boyfriend dumped her once again for the week-end... When the unthinkable happens... A boy stops in front of her in the street and kisses her, in the middle of the street, before running away.

Trying to discover more about him, she is dragged into a dangerous game of mystery. A biologist has been murdered and a deadly virus is on the loose. First suspect: the mysterious Harajuku's stranger.

He had been suspicious for a while now. Something in his research and the high level of security has always made him uneasy. But recently, he had spotted a dark van in front of his house, and again the same van in the street when he walked to the convenient store, he had been followed for several days but his stalkers never made a move. They had been following his wife too, even if they lived separately now, she has called him, she was hysterical.

Something was off.

Kaji looked around listening, expecting someone to jump on him from the darkness. There was something frightening about this place, but he couldn’t really spit what.

WeWriWar 350: The House at The Crossing 58

 

Hello everybody and welcome for a new Sunday of writing with Weekend Writing Warrior and Snippet Sunday!

How are you doing? 

Let's continue with  "The House at the Crossing" and it's a prequel to Demon Soul and the demon series. It's a bit of a mix of Fantasy and Science-fiction.

It follows one of the books more obscure character as she first comes into the House. It's supposed to explain why there are so many people is the house and sort of where they come from and at the same time be a first time adventure for the main character as she needs to adapt to her new role and the new version of who she is. 

Let's start right at where we left off last time, let's meet Wendy.  

“I am human with a bit of dog and rat DNA, for the extra parts.”
Dog I would have guess, rat, not so much.
“I was born this way with a human mother and father,” Wendy says.
“So what univers are you from?” My other self ask. I busy myself trying to get the baby bottle ready and I'm just listening. I want to know stuff of course, what's going on and all but I don't really want to participate. I wonder how long Wendy is going to be here, somehow, she makes me feel uncomfortable.
“Universe?” Wendy looks at Teresa who decides to be the one answering.

Vampire Friday: Vampire Heart 315

Summary of the previous episodes: Viorel has been tortured by his supposed family who wanted to have him burn in the sun. Strangely enough the sun didn't burn him as expected but Viorel has no memory of who he is. Following the advises of his supposed father, he left Sighișoara and is now traveling to the West. After some skirmish in a previous city, he found refuge on a boat. Viorel is now in Vienna. The little problem is that the guy at the inn was a bit of an asshole and helped capture Viorel thinking he was a vampire, which he is but nobody needs to know. Now there is a huge man (which I call the colossi) taking care of Viorel and a priest. They brought a girl. Torture my holy water... Fail. Viorel managed to confuse everyone, now he would like to get out of here. But the girl seems pretty useless. They still managed to escape and he left the girl to the care of the boat lady before going back to have two words with his captors but his power of persuasion were failing him. The priest wanted to crack a deal but Viorel is not really up to help his enemies. He finally got some blood but he can't risk to stay in Vienna. He travel to Linz were he stays a bit to learn German.

Viorel wanted to go to Praha but redirect himself toward Augsburg instead where he wants to get a horse, except that the horses are a bit scared of his vampirism and maybe something else. Viorel is really not a horse expert. Then he comes into an altercation with couple of people, he wants some fear in his blood. The girl Viorel has found seemed to enjoy the game. Viorel prepares for the nightmares that come with a feast of blood, in a rush to leave, he cross the dukedom of Lorrain.

We introduced Sorina, three weeks after the beginning of Viorel's escape.

Viorel dreamed of Sorina and woke up not really remembering anything. Traveling to Paris, he arrives at "La cour des miracles". He is rescued by a stranger who turned out to be Nicolas Flamel, the alchemist he was looking for. Nicolas does some strange experiment without Viorel's agreement. Some people are looking for Nicolas's secrets. On the other side of Europe, Sorina awakes and Viorel's past in haunting him. Viorel discovered that he can change into a wolf but that's not the easiest thing to handle. After finding out that a younger version of Nicolas might not be acting with his best interest at heart, Viorel decides to leave for the north. He is now traveling with two people, Alexej who needed to get out of Praha and Irina who he accidentally rescued.

Now, let's continue with Vampire Heart, right where we left off last week.

I felt her muscle relax under my front legs but her face was still tense. I forced myself not to try to smile after I licked her face again. It was a really strange feeling that I didn’t remember having experienced before. I was trying to make friend with her, I had never tried to befriend someone before, I had only let people come close to me. It was really strange to be the first to make a move toward her. She turned her head slowly toward me and I licked her again. She brought her head toward me and I let her touch my face, stroke me between the ears and bellow the throat before letting go of her walking backward, I lay on the floor near her. She was still very cautious when she sat up. She stroked me again half smiling. I had tame my human. I started to think about becoming human again. If I had done it earlier, the time for me to recover she might have ran away. I didn’t remember how long it took to change back or if I was going to be able to do it at all. Last time I had transformed, I was asleep when I transformed back. Irina was friendlier and had been a lot easier to tame than Nicolas. I couldn’t believe he had stayed in front of my room waiting all night for the wolf to run out. I concentrated, human, human I need to become human was the thought turning in my head but it didn’t seem to work. As a wolf, my thoughts were a lot different than as a human, I knew that it was what I was telling me but it sounded so strange in my head, I didn’t recognise my voice. Irina started to talk. “There is a dragon near my inn, I didn’t so it because I was too scared to look but I heard the horses, it’s really dangerous. Are you scared of the dragon too, did they kill your family? Is that why you are so nice with me instead of eating me because you are lost too?” she said. I thought it was a bit crazy for her to speak to a wolf she didn’t know like that but it reminded me of Sorina, she always talked to me this way and I sat near her listening, yawning and putting my mussel on her legs. I put my muscle on Irina’s legs. Thinking that I didn’t understand what she said, might be the way for me to know what I needed to know about her. And at the same time, it gave me some times to figure out how to transform.

Thursday Fiction 305: Parallel Slip

Welcome back to a new part of Parallel Slip, where we follow the adventures of Frederique through her slip in different parallel universes.

Let's start right where we left off last week, with Frederique fainting into a different universe.  

"I guess I will have to meet with everyone Michelle has seen since I last time came here," I said.

"That's a lot of people," Clara said.
She was looking straight in front of herself and she didn't looked reassured. I could be gone before I found who did this to Michelle and there was no way to prevent it.
"As long as we know about the danger Michelle represent for us, we can take care of ourself," Debby said as if she had read my mind.
Clara looked at her a second before looking back at the road but said nothing.
"I'm going to go see Fanny," I said. "Michelle took her out of the responsibility I put her in, she has a motive."
"But she is your older friend, in this universe," Clara said.
"But she turned her back on me in mine," I said. "I'm not blaming her yet, it's just that I need to start somewhere and she was hurt and surrounded by doctors so, it can as well be one of them. It's worth checking it out."
I walked out of the control room. There was another way, to check the security camera, and see both what Michelle had been up too and with who but there was a possibility that they would have erased all their traces as well so I decided to act on my hunch first.

Fanny was in her quarter, reading some reports about, I wasn't really sure what but it looked official enough, some sort of A4 documents all typed, with a light blue sky cover, she didn't hide it when I arrived, didn't even bother closing it so I took it as something usual that I could check out if I wanted. I didn't want to bother though but something hit me, those were printed words, on paper, made of trees and in this world except for my father's book collection it was the first time I saw anything that looked so ancient. All the reports I had ever had had been light on glass, light a screen device, even in my father's room everything official had never been printed.
