Thursday Fiction 137: Parallel Slip

Welcome back to a new part of Parallel Slip, where we follow the adventure of Frederique through her slip in different parallel universes.

Let's start right where we left off last week.

"I might black out more than usual today," I said matter of factly.

"You mean take a nap in the middle of class," Alex answer laughing pouring himself some coffee.

I hated the smell of coffee in the morning, it made me nauseated.

"I wish," I said walking out with my toasts.

Amy walked after me.

"Anything special about today? You didn't black out even once yesterday evening," she said.

"That's the point I didn't black out in my sleep either so I might have to catch up on it, sorta," I said.

"Really? Is this how it works?"

She followed me in my room and we sat at my desk with the rest of our breakfast.

"Well, I'm not sure. My mother gave me pills once to stop the black out, just after a while they stopped working and the black out came back all at once," I said.

"So did you take the pills to go to the party?" Amy asked.

"No, I'll never take one of those again, that was awful," I said.

"You drunk alcohol last night could that have the same effect," Amy asked.

"I wouldn't know, that was a first," I said, "Don't worry too much, at worse I'll just have to copy my notes from Alex."

"Oh, he is going to enjoy that and he will never leave you alone about the party after that," she said.

"I can leave with that," I answered, "I can also punch him in the nose. I was two fingers away to kick Mike-nick somewhere last night."

"I'm not the only one who didn't catch his name," Amy said laughing.

"It was terrible," I said.

"It was," she answered.

"How are you going to deal with it today?" I asked.

"They are all second year so I don't have to see them and Tamara won't be coming to class anyway, after party hangover."

"Are you sure?" I asked.

"Yeah, the others are probably going to want to know about it so I might tell them it was boring and that I came home early, that might get me more interesting and safe friends," Amy said.

"I sure hope so."

Alex knocked at the open door. I wondered how long he had been standing there.

"So how was the party," he asked.

"Awesome!" I said, "really good music and not too loud, nice guys to dance with, pretty fruity drinks. Nice ride back. You should have come really."

Amy opened big eyes at me. I pretended not to notice and dive in my last toast to avoid a guilty smile. If it was true that Alex was the good kid with her parents, there were things he didn't need to know. What he didn't know couldn't hurt him.

Wednesday Snippet: Demon World 141

Welcome to a new part of Demon World unedited, we start right where we left off last time.

 

The fight started again. There was no way demons would leave themselves be punished guilty or not. If one had died, he had probably asked for it, and if not, he should have fought better. They knew that if one of them had managed to get out, even for a little bit, it was possible for them to do the same. And now that they had what they had come for, none of them wanted to rest here any longer than necessary. The demons in robes were trying to retreat but they were under attack.

“What if one of them dies again?” one of the three demons asked.

“Yue killed some, nothing happened”, another answered.

“We will get the formula soon enough”, the other answered. “The witch must be awaken and ready to talk now.”

Yue stopped playing with his adversary and burned him to ashes, the black fire was leaking out of his hand more easily than ever, he didn’t bother to turn around, he just followed the three of them down the corridor, they were going to lead him to the witch. He had been waiting for that forever.

“Let’s go out of here”, Torsti said turning around to Odeon. Lonan was already playing with a demon in robe, jumping on his stomach, making him spit blood every time he was landing, water and fire was getting out of the hand of the demon alternatively, he was unable to control his powers anymore.

“I want to know where Yue went”, Odeon said.

“We don’t have time for that”, Torsti answered grabbing his arm.

“Tell me what happened?”

“You were the one telling me that I was going to put this family in danger for revenge. No it’s my turn to tell that to you, we got to get out of here as soon as possible, trust me, just this once”, Torsti said.

Odeon turned to Lonan one second, he seemed to be having fun but Odeon knew that it wasn’t going to last too long before he was bored again.

“Let’s play some game outside”, he said.

Torsti smiled, now it was his turn to cut their way out.

Doll Box Opening and Review: Mia Siamese Cat Doll Show Limited (with video)

Today, I'm opening Mia Siamese Cat limited version from the Doll Show 51.

She is an excute but at the same time, she is part of the Meow Meow a la mode series. I know it's a bit confusing but hopefully, she will be the last character in this series.

She has a very classical beauty look to her and I like her style. She comes with very little cat things on her outfit so you don't have to always make her a cat, though she has cat ears and tail and shoes and some cat style on her shirt and cardigan. She also comes with a body pillow which I found adorable for our little sleepy cat.

Nightmare Realisation by Carol Riggs (Book Review) #Spookathon (with video)

Today, I have for you the first review of Spookathon: Junction 2020 Nightmare Realisation.
This book is the second book in the series. I read it as an ARC but it's actually out now so you can go and grab it here.

In Junction 2020 a group of five adolescent go through a portal made to triangle to reach what is called a landscape.
The landscape is build of the nightmare and favorite things of one of them.
In this book, we are in Tony's landscape so we learn about Tony's past, his likes and dislike and the reasons behind all of his nightmare.
At the same time, our little group of friends, Mainworlders, also have to fight against the Shifters, people jumping from landscape to landscapes to catch the Mainworlders and get out of the landscape with them.
Tony is a very particular character because all of his fears are actually lethal which makes this landscape very dangerous. He is very different from Marie in multiple ways, including the fact that he is not really as brave and as smart. This book is interesting because it pushes the understanding of the landscape and Shifters a lot further.
It was an interesting read.
