"Script frenzy" fail

Do you remember how half a month ago I was Failing Script Frenzy ?
At that time I also said that it was going to get better and that I was going to win anyway. Well it didn't happen. I don't even feel bad about it, it was still a lot of fun.
I ended up with 44 pages on one script and 6 for the other, which is half of what I should have get for one script only. That's pretty much a epic fail.

I don't really know why I failed except for the fact that I was obviously not writing, or that when I was I was actually writing really slowly and really wanted to sleep. But it can be a link between a lot of things.

First my horror script turned into something really deep and psychological and it was really hard to combine that with blood spreading scenes. Ending up that my main character Charlie was looking for those creatures and ended up stuck with them in the train and I still don't have a clue how to get him out of there. Someone already suggested the window but 1) that's a subway train, 2) he has a time travel stone and 3) he still needs to follow them wherever it is they are going. I bet the only way is to rewrite the last part but at the same time that's the only really bloody part so far... see the problem.

Second my mood drastically changed in the middle, I mean I got a lot lighter so putting myself in Charlie's shoes and general randing about loosing his best friend and wanting revenge was kinda impossible.
But as a fighting depression story it's probably a master piece, just I'm not depressed enough to finish it... maybe.

Third, in the middle of the story I also started to think that Charlie could be the main character of "The flower" so that "The flower" became the sequel of "The unknown". That's what happens when you actually don't have names for your characters. I kind of got really attached to Charlie's way of thinking I guess, and it's better to have one character really depressed instead of two. But the thing is that "The flower" was to be a romantic story and travel to India and all... see the problem.

Fourth, I'm more of a novel writer than a script writer, seriously it was killing me not to give details about everything around and the smell and stuff. I find scripts really reductive.

Leeds to having 2 unfinished script that I don't have a clue how to finish right now and failing "Script Frenzy". But writing "The Unknown" was really fun and exciting so I guess I'll add what I have to the blog soon, so that you can also have fun reading it (and see how crazy my mind can get.)

2 weeks in Taiwan : 淡水

En français
The next day I went to 淡水 with my friends. We walked along the river before lunch and visited the 紅毛城 (Fort San Domingo). It was constructed by the Dutch in 1641 when they expelled the Spanish from Taiwan, apparently his owner at that time had red hair and that's where the name is coming from. Then it became a British Consulate in 19th and 20th centuries.
We then went to visit 淡江大學 university before diner and then went to 士林夜市 where I tried some more delicious food and where we saw some opera.

Origami : Roses

En français
With spring arriving and all my friends taking new classes and being very excited about learning new things, I decided that I should bring something new to my blog readers too. I'm not sure what and how much of it it's going to be but today I would like to start with some Origami.
For people who don't know Origami is the Japanese art of folding paper into something.
Some months ago my friend taught me how to make a rose. It's a very complicated process and with time I thought I had forgotten about it but apparently not.

2 weeks in Taiwan : Taipei 101

En français
The next day we went to visit Taipei 101. Taipei 101 used to be the highest building in the world, and is the first one which break the half-kilometer in height. We didn't took the elevator to the top because there was too many people. I will have to go back there another time.
Before going there we went to a exhibition on world cosmetic and tried a lot of products. That was rather fun. And of course I tried some more Taiwanese traditional food.

Failing Script Frenzy

So as the title says, I'm doing Script Frenzy this year again. And as the title says, I'm failing at it this year again.
For those who don't know what Script Frenzy is, let me explain a bit about it.
Script Frenzy is a writing contest taking place during the month of April, and during which you are supposed -I mean if you participate- you are supposed to write a 100-pages long movie script. 100 pages long because that's about the number of pages you need to obtain and average length movie. That being said you can also have a look at their website.
So question time.

What am I writing ?
Well actually nothing much taking my page count into account. More seriously I'm working on two scripts.
The first one is called "The flower". It's my personal script and it's about a guy who has a recurrent dream about this incredible flower and he is trying to find it but apparently he can't. Why would you ever want to see a movie like this or read the script, well I don't know. Just I like it because it's kind of mysterious.
The second one is called "The unknown". It's supposed to be a group script but I have been the only one writing is so far. I will never get how people can be that busy. Anyway I still enjoy writing it on my own. I generally enjoy stuff on my own, that way I don't have to put up with other people requirement. Anyway it's kind of an horror movie even though I have problem to actually create a real horror scene in it so far. That's probably because I'm not so far in the story. It's about a guy who is in this group to defeat vampires or something like that, it's not even properly determine yet if they are vampires or not that's why it's called "The unknown" I suppose.

Why am I failing at it?
Well I could say I started really late already 5 days behind because I was in Taiwan. Because I'm learning Chinese hard core (more about this later). Because I have an amazingly extended social life. Because of qq. Because I'm trying to write 200 pages in a month when most people trying "Script Frenzy" can't even have 100 pages.
Ok I'm stopping there, just giving those excuses to someone else who need them. I mean I just haven't been writing enough and didn't take the time to write. But the good thing is that's not going to last forever, I mean have you ever seen me fail at a writing contest anyway.

The finished script will be uploaded for you to read as soon as I hit the bottom line.
