Thursday Fiction 444: Parallel Slip 2: Rebel

Welcome back to a new Thursday Fiction, it's been a while. We continue with Parallel Slip 2: Rebel where we left of last time, following Isabelle as she figure out who she really is.

 

“If soundproof so nobody can hear you from down there. There are glass panels on the side so that you always have light during the day and my grand-father stocked food for cases of emergency. He always believed that the war would come again. You have to pull on the string to close the door after going down and you better be careful with your head when it falls back. That's about it. Oh it can't be opened from the inside so if something happen when you're in there and I'm not back in half an hours, better let Romulus know in another universe. He told me he put the schedule of his trip on the table.”

Isabelle looked at the hole and the stairs going down. It wasn't like a typical basement, it smelled nice and it was well lit but she had some apprehension about being locked up in there, she had already been locked up in her bedroom so many times, she thought that at least being away from home she would have some freedom.

Wednesday Snippet 446: Fairy World 87

Welcome back to Wednesday Snippet. This week, we continue with Fairy World unedited. Last week, we were with Brownie as she dived deeper into Kallisto's mind, this week we get back to the real world with Evalynn and Viorel.

"That girl is just a pain! Really! She thinks she knows better than anyone else but seriously normal humans, hum, humans shouldn't use magic," Evalynn said. "You know that, I know that, just get it in her head once and for all. Let's go before she does something to hurt herself and everyone around."

"Why didn't you stop her by yourself?" Viorel asked shaking a little tube filled with blood without even looking at the demon.

"What do you mean?" Evalynn said feeling suddenly uncomfortable, she didn't have an answer to that question.

She was a demon, full of powers and she could have stopped the human girl pretty easily without making a big mess in the overly tidy living-room. Everything in here was too net. She needed to do something but...

"You know what I mean, demon, human, you're one step higher in the food chain," Viorel said.

Tuesday Travel 242: Witch Raising: The Book of Earth 89

Welcome to Tuesday Travel. This week we are following Brownie on her journey as she is going toward the second element: Earth.

About Witch Raising.

Witch Raising is a new series with Brownie, the heroine of Demon Soul as the main character. This series is part of the House at the Crossing Series and follows Demon Soul and Demon and Fairy but instead of being centered on the adventure of Sahel and his demon friends, it follows Brownie as she goes from being a normal girl to a bad ass witch. She has been practicing magick for a while now, saving people from difficult situations but the people at the house, including Sahel aren't happy with her new calling. Feeling that she doesn't have a choice and has to keep learning witchcraft, Brownie leaves to meet other witches.

The excerpt starts right where we left off last week.

“Just a little more efforts,” she said. “We are almost there.”

She placed the shoulder of the guy on the stairs and went back up to grab his feet. She took them both and bent him in two pushing on his ass to get him to fall. When he finally went down she almost went with him but managed to hold herself back on the door handle. The man made a loop and fell flat on his face. Brownie got her balance back and let go of the door that clicked and almost closed back on her. The train started moving with a startle.

“I can't believe it,” Daphy said. “It starts now, just when those guys are out? I can't believe our luck.”

“And I can't believe it either and that's what's worrying me,” Brownie said.

Mystery Monday 239: Murder at the Conference 136

Hello mystery lovers and welcome to a new Mystery Monday.
I hope you had a great week-end. Here is a new little part of Murder at the Conference. Murder at the Conference is a stand alone sequel to Harajuku Kiss.

We start right were we left off last week:

 

She finished her exam and joined my bunch of crazy foreign friends on our nights out. It was a lot of fun to have her around, she knew the place a lot better than most of us and we spend a lot of times in beer gardens.

“It's too bad the introduction wasn't last night, I'm so sleepy. Almost nobody managed to get up on time for breakfast, people are going to be noisy all morning. I hope they'll have cookies during the breaks.”

“And I hope they'll have Chinese food for lunch,” I said.

Christa threw me a dark stare but said nothing. She didn't need too, I could almost hear her thoughts about my diet, I was that used to them. I decided to ignore her and concentrate on Deborah.

“So where are you now?”
