Wednesday Snippet 427: Fairy World 68

Welcome back to Wednesday Snippet. This week, we continue with Fairy World unedited just where we left off last week. 

That was the side effect of the grounding with the diving into someone's mind. To ground her the person would have to see what she saw inside and to keep their mind on the present moment and surrounding.

"Better have a quiet place," the dark shadow said.

"No actually, better have a place where anything can happen to make sure she will stay right open and not interfere with my mind," Brownie said.

"She?" The dark shadow asked. "You're not thinking about taking that demon girl with you, are you?"

"Evalynn? For all hell sake are you crazy?" Brownie said walking toward the door of the library. The air in the corridor was chilly.

"Then who?" The dark shadow said sliding under the door Brownie had just closed.

She smirked and even from the shadow's insane demonic mind, that smirk had nothing reassuring.

Tuesday Travel 223: Witch Raising: The Book of Earth 70

Welcome to Tuesday Travel. This week we are following Brownie on her journey as she is going toward the second element: Earth.

 

About Witch Raising.

Witch Raising is a new series with Brownie, the heroine of Demon Soul as the main character. This series is part of the House at the Crossing Series and follows Demon Soul and Demon and Fairy but instead of being centered on the adventure of Sahel and his demon friends, it follows Brownie as she goes from being a normal girl to a bad ass witch. She has been practicing magick for a while now, saving people from difficult situations but the people at the house, including Sahel aren't happy with her new calling. Feeling that she doesn't have a choice and has to keep learning witchcraft, Brownie leaves to meet other witches.

The excerpt starts right where we left off last week.

A woman pulled her to the side and made her sit behind her.

“I don't know what those wirdoes want with you, but they are sure not going to get it,” the woman said pulling her sleeves up. Her hands were callous and tanned too. Brownie took that as a sign she was an experimental geologist who had probably been working outside recently. Brownie looked at the humans in the wagon astonished.

They were all standing up against the hunters for her but that was dangerous. The blood leaking from the inverted Christian crosses meant blood magic and they were definitely connected to central bad guys head quarter. Every body here was in danger because of her. She had to do something but she couldn't see why except for surrendering.

Mystery Monday 220: Murder at the Conference 117

Hello mystery lovers and welcome to a new Mystery Monday.
I hope you had a great week-end. Here is a new little part of Murder at the Conference. Murder at the Conference is a stand alone sequel to Harajuku Kiss. 

We start right were we left off last week:

There was no easy way to deal with it. I felt guilty for pushing her away, it was a bit selfish but I couldn't go on like this. It was a strange situation. I had never really dealt with this kind of choice before where I needed to place my well-being in front of someone's else. It felt wrong, quite the opposite of what I had been taught to do. But at the same time it was a bit like breaking up with Toshio. When I had told him pretty much what I had told Christa. That he wasn't good for me and that I wasn't happy with our relationship. I could avoid Toshio on a daily basis even if he sneaked around to be with Christa but I couldn't avoid Christa. We shared the same office. Even if I avoided talking to her as much as possible, there would always be things we had to do together for work.

I hadn't decided yet if I wanted her out of my life or not. It was difficult to deal with people like that. She was taking away all my energy and at the same time, I came coming back to her. I should have allowed her to treat me like that in the first place. She didn't change much, I couldn't really blame her for what happened. I had changed. I was taking action for myself, to stop people like Toshio to take advantage of my insecurity and if that meant I'll have to hurt Christa's feelings to keep mine safe maybe that was for the best. I never considered myself a nice person, despite what everybody kept on thinking about me, maybe it was time to let my bitch out for a bit.

Northern Ireland: Belfast, Walk along the Lagan and Sir Thomas and Lady Dixon park (with video)

I took a walk along the Lagan from near Shaw's Bridge through Clement Wilson Park to Sir Thomas and Lady Dixon park.  

You can enter Clement Wilson Park from Malone road, it goes down to Shaw's Bridge and Minnowburn along the river.

Sir Thomas and Lady Dixon park was bequeathed to the people of Belfast by Lady Edith Stewart Dixon  in memory of her husband Sir Thomas. It includes meadows, woodland, riverside fields, formal rose gardens, a walled garden, a Japanese garden, a children's playground, a coffee shop, an orienteering course and many walks. The park hosts international annual roses trials with a permanent panel of judges.
