Vampire Friday: Vampire Heart 413

Welcome to a new part of Vampire Heart unedited. Have you been bitten yet? 

Summary of the previous episodes: Viorel has been tortured by his supposed family who wanted to have him burn in the sun. Strangely enough the sun didn't burn him as expected but Viorel has no memory of who he is. Following the advises of his supposed father, he left Sighișoara and is now traveling to the West. After some skirmish in a previous city, he found refuge on a boat. Viorel is now in Vienna. The little problem is that the guy at the inn was a bit of an asshole and helped capture Viorel thinking he was a vampire, which he is but nobody needs to know. Now there is a huge man (which I call the colossi) taking care of Viorel and a priest. They brought a girl. Torture my holy water... Fail. Viorel managed to confuse everyone, now he would like to get out of here. But the girl seems pretty useless. They still managed to escape and he left the girl to the care of the boat lady before going back to have two words with his captors but his power of persuasion were failing him. The priest wanted to crack a deal but Viorel is not really up to help his enemies. He finally got some blood but he can't risk to stay in Vienna. He travel to Linz were he stays a bit to learn German.

Viorel wanted to go to Praha but redirect himself toward Augsburg instead where he wants to get a horse, except that the horses are a bit scared of his vampirism and maybe something else. Viorel is really not a horse expert. Then he comes into an altercation with couple of people, he wants some fear in his blood. The girl Viorel has found seemed to enjoy the game. Viorel prepares for the nightmares that come with a feast of blood, in a rush to leave, he cross the dukedom of Lorrain.
We introduced Sorina, three weeks after the beginning of Viorel's escape.
Viorel dreamed of Sorina and woke up not really remembering anything. Traveling to Paris, he arrives at "La cour des miracles". He is rescued by a stranger who turned out to be Nicolas Flamel, the alchemist he was looking for. Nicolas does some strange experiment without Viorel's agreement. Some people are looking for Nicolas's secrets. On the other side of Europe, Sorina awakes and Viorel's past in haunting him. Viorel discovered that he can change into a wolf but that's not the easiest thing to handle. After finding out that a younger version of Nicolas might not be acting with his best interest at heart, Viorel decides to leave for the north. He is now traveling with two people, Alexej who needed to get out of Praha and Irina who he accidentally rescued.

 

 

Now, let's continue with Vampire Heart, right where we left off last time.

 

"What's your purpose on using these tools on me anyway, I'm in a pretty chatty mood, I would tell you everything you want," I said.

"But I don't trust you or anything you say and I want the truth and to make sure that you tell the truth I'll blow your mind with enough pain that you won't be trying any petty trick on me," Jorge said then turning to the Jäger with the tools. "I thought I told you to start already."

The man smiled and walked toward me tool in hand. I looked at him straight in the eyes. He knew what he was doing with that but his spirit was weak. I needed to get around him.

"Oh, I know this one, it is made to dislocate shoulder's isn't it?"

The man growled placing the tool on my shoulder. They had used it on Alexei too. It had been rubbed with alcohol and the smell was nauseating. He didn't even bother to open my shirt but place the tool on the top of it which I was already grateful for. He tightened it slowly trying to build some anticipation of pain.

"A little bit more, a little bit more," I said, "You need to make sure that it won't slip when you hit it."

Thursday Fiction 403: Parallel Slip 2: Rebel

Welcome back to a new Thursday Fiction, it's been a while. We continue with Parallel Slip 2: Rebel where we left of last time, following Isabelle as she figure out who she really is.

 

She opened her eyes trying to make sure her arms were still under the blanket. They were at least she didn't have to explain the gauze on her wrist to her younger brother, that was a plus.

“What are you still doing in bed? We are going to be late for school!”

Isabelle gave him a dead look.

“There is no school, that's what holidays are for, now just let me sleep,” she said turning back to her pillow.

“Damn!”

“Even half awake I know what day it is, just get the hell out of here before I make sure you can't move anymore,” she said.

“I'm not afraid of you, sis, they are having a new submit, just for you right now.”

“Malik, I don't care about whatever you say whether it's true or not, just get out of my room.”

“You went to a forbidden universe last night, one where mum couldn't even find you. What happened? Tell me! I want to know,” Malik said jumping on the bed.

Wednesday Snippet 405: Fairy World 46

Welcome back to Wednesday Snippet. This week, we continue with Fairy World unedited just where we left off last week. 

"But he is with her," Amarelis continued, "Can she... Is he easily controllable?" 

 

Deborah sighed.

"If we don't hurry, my queen, you won't have a country of reign on, that's all I'll say." 

 

"Humans can't be that powerful," Amarelis answered.

 

"I never said Yue was a human," Deborah answered.

 

"The demons are back?" 

 

"Back? I don't know about Yue coming here before but personally I would stay as far away as possible from anywhere with demons if I were you," Deborah said. "They are bad news."

"But he is still your friend, that Yue," Amarelis said.

 

"It's complicated," Deborah answered.

 

And here finishes this little part with Amarelis and Deborah. Next week we'll follow different characters.

Tuesday Travel 201: Witch Raising: The Book of Earth 48

Welcome to Tuesday Travel. This week we are following Brownie on her journey as she is going toward the second element: Earth.

 

 

About Witch Raising.

Witch Raising is a new series with Brownie, the heroine of Demon Soul as the main character. This series is part of the House at the Crossing Series and follows Demon Soul and Demon and Fairy but instead of being centered on the adventure of Sahel and his demon friends, it follows Brownie as she goes from being a normal girl to a bad ass witch. She has been practicing magick for a while now, saving people from difficult situations but the people at the house, including Sahel aren't happy with her new calling. Feeling that she doesn't have a choice and has to keep learning witchcraft, Brownie leaves to meet other witches.

The excerpt starts right where we left off last week.

The only other life she was dealing with were her past lives and that was more than enough. Thought there was a certain appeal to a novel, at least the story stopped and with it the madness stopped when you reached the last page. And most of the time, you knew the characters were going to be all right. In real life though, there was no guaranty anything was going to turn out well. Especially for her when demons were involved though curiously there were no demons on this train.

Margarethe threw her husband a stern look and turned back to Brownie.

“So what do you want to do... after high school?”

Brownie wasn't too sure how to answer that question. Once upon a time, she had known without a doubt but now things were so different.

“I want to be a fashion designer, I supposed,” she said.
