Vampire Friday: Vampire Heart 412

Welcome to a new part of Vampire Heart unedited. Have you been bitten yet? 

Summary of the previous episodes: Viorel has been tortured by his supposed family who wanted to have him burn in the sun. Strangely enough the sun didn't burn him as expected but Viorel has no memory of who he is. Following the advises of his supposed father, he left Sighișoara and is now traveling to the West. After some skirmish in a previous city, he found refuge on a boat. Viorel is now in Vienna. The little problem is that the guy at the inn was a bit of an asshole and helped capture Viorel thinking he was a vampire, which he is but nobody needs to know. Now there is a huge man (which I call the colossi) taking care of Viorel and a priest. They brought a girl. Torture my holy water... Fail. Viorel managed to confuse everyone, now he would like to get out of here. But the girl seems pretty useless. They still managed to escape and he left the girl to the care of the boat lady before going back to have two words with his captors but his power of persuasion were failing him. The priest wanted to crack a deal but Viorel is not really up to help his enemies. He finally got some blood but he can't risk to stay in Vienna. He travel to Linz were he stays a bit to learn German.

Viorel wanted to go to Praha but redirect himself toward Augsburg instead where he wants to get a horse, except that the horses are a bit scared of his vampirism and maybe something else. Viorel is really not a horse expert. Then he comes into an altercation with couple of people, he wants some fear in his blood. The girl Viorel has found seemed to enjoy the game. Viorel prepares for the nightmares that come with a feast of blood, in a rush to leave, he cross the dukedom of Lorrain.
We introduced Sorina, three weeks after the beginning of Viorel's escape.
Viorel dreamed of Sorina and woke up not really remembering anything. Traveling to Paris, he arrives at "La cour des miracles". He is rescued by a stranger who turned out to be Nicolas Flamel, the alchemist he was looking for. Nicolas does some strange experiment without Viorel's agreement. Some people are looking for Nicolas's secrets. On the other side of Europe, Sorina awakes and Viorel's past in haunting him. Viorel discovered that he can change into a wolf but that's not the easiest thing to handle. After finding out that a younger version of Nicolas might not be acting with his best interest at heart, Viorel decides to leave for the north. He is now traveling with two people, Alexej who needed to get out of Praha and Irina who he accidentally rescued.

 

 

Now, let's continue with Vampire Heart, right where we left off last time.

 

"That's too bad, poisoning your own people," I answered.

"You were the one killing him," Jorge said.

"I left enough blood in him to make sure he wouldn't have the slightest heart failure, his blood was tasty and I wanted to ask him what he had done to make it that way," I said.

"His blood had nothing special," Jorge said.

"Special herbal treatment, pre-christian, if I recall," I said. "You are Christian priest so I wondered why..."

"Get started," Jorge said.

He was obviously not comfortable to talk about the herbal cocktail in the boy's blood. Sorcery was forbidden, even for the Jäger, they were still Christian. I was so troubled by what was going on here.

"Oh, I hit a sensitive cord it seems, I'm sorry," I said. "I have this vision of Christians, you know, all about being nice and avoiding the devil and burning it when it comes too close."

"So maybe you would prefer it if we burned you," Jorge said.

"Well, you kept that for the end, didn't you, tomorrow morning, at the mess, public execution, that is going to be a terrific sight that they won't be forgetting anytime soon."

"So, changing your mind?" Jorge said.

Thursday Fiction 402: Parallel Slip 2: Rebel

Welcome back to a new Thursday Fiction, it's been a while. We continue with Parallel Slip 2: Rebel where we left of last time, following Isabelle as she figure out who she really is.

 

She was tired but she couldn't leave the bathroom in a mess, if someone was to see all that blood, they would sure know what she had done. At least that's what her mind told her. She had to hide that this part of the plan went fine until she was to get to the second part: Meeting with the impostor. 

 

She threw the toilet paper covered in blood in the toilet. At least her nose had stopped bleeding in the process so there was no feeding the mess anymore. Then cleaned the sink and the floor and the side of the bathtub with the towel. Her pajama trousers also had stains. She spread cleaning product on every stain and decided to put them in the washing machine the next day.

She gave herself a quick hot shower, she was feeling cold with exhaustion and worried about losing too much blood. The aid-band on her wrist already felt funny as if she was still bleeding and taking a shower without wetting it was some kind of impossible mission. 

 

She didn't have trouble to fall asleep that night. 

 

“Isabelle, wake up, wake up,” Malik was shaking her.

Wednesday Snippet 404: Fairy World 45

Welcome back to Wednesday Snippet. This week, we continue with Fairy World unedited just where we left off last week.

One of the guys moved on the floor startling Amarelis. 

 "We better get out of here," she said walking to the door. "I think I know where your friend is, but.."

She let Deborah out and locked the door, passing the string of the key around her neck and hiding it.

 

"But?" Deborah said.

 

"But we can't go there just the two of us, she would kill us." Amarelis said avoiding to look at Deborah.

 

"How? She is just an old lady with..."

 

"She was the queen before me," Amarelis said. "She stole everything from me and she is probably the one who really stole the magic from this world, she might be the only person in this entire world who can still use magic."

She walked in the corridor. First they needed to find the surface without anyone noticing them and then, she needed to find Kordelius. Kordelius wouldn't be able to fight with his mother but he might have some friends who would like to help. Except for that, she had no idea.

 

"I'm sure Yue can use magic," Deborah said.

Tuesday Travel 200: Witch Raising: The Book of Earth 47

Welcome to Tuesday Travel. This week we are following Brownie on her journey as she is going toward the second element: Earth.

 

 

About Witch Raising.

Witch Raising is a new series with Brownie, the heroine of Demon Soul as the main character. This series is part of the House at the Crossing Series and follows Demon Soul and Demon and Fairy but instead of being centered on the adventure of Sahel and his demon friends, it follows Brownie as she goes from being a normal girl to a bad ass witch. She has been practicing magick for a while now, saving people from difficult situations but the people at the house, including Sahel aren't happy with her new calling. Feeling that she doesn't have a choice and has to keep learning witchcraft, Brownie leaves to meet other witches.

The excerpt starts right where we left off last week.

That was a lot more than Brownie had asked for but Margarethe sounded very passionate about the subject.

“Why not do both?” Brownie answered.

“Why not do both? she asked,” Margarethe said. “You see Henry, there are still people in this world who are interested in research.”

She turned to Brownie.

“Actually, I am currently looking for funding and people wouldn't be happy if I tried to do both but I still might, just they don't need to know about it before hand. That might require a few extra students though, am I'm not sure where I'll put them.”

“Let's not get ahead of ourselves,” professor Fliggerty answered.

Brownie didn't know if she was interested in research or if she just wanted to be polite. She didn't consider herself much of a reader, at least, not any more. She didn't read fiction, it seemed that her life was way to active and crazy for her to take a chance and dive into the life of someone else even fictional.
