About Witch Raising.
Witch Raising is a new series with Brownie, the heroine of Demon Soul as
the main character. This series is part of the House at the Crossing
Series and follows Demon Soul and Demon and Fairy but instead of being
centered on the adventure of Sahel and his demon friends, it follows
Brownie as she goes from being a normal girl to a bad ass witch. She has
been practicing magick for a while now, saving people from difficult
situations but the people at the house, including Sahel aren't happy
with her new calling. Feeling that she doesn't have a choice and has to
keep learning witchcraft, Brownie leaves to meet other witches.
The excerpt starts right where we left off last week.
“The changes in criminal investigation as a comparative study of novels by British writers in the 19th and 20th century,” Margarethe said.
Brownie had no idea what that meant. She might have read a few detective novels in the past but she wouldn't even have thought that comparing them could be a thing.
“I'm sorry, I'm still in high school,” Brownie said. “How does it work? What do you have to do?”
“I read the novel, compare the criminal mind at work in the characters as well as the mind of the detective to trace psychological portrait of them and see if there is a correlation between the criminals and the people trying to stop them. It's at the border between literature and psychology, it requires knowledge in both fields. I see if there is an evolution on how the criminal mind was perceived and if it can lead to some clues about the evolution of crime today. I still haven't decided if I will pursue the study toward more contemporary novels or if I want to dig into historical account of crime in the 19th and 20th century to see how accurate the description by the authors were,” Margarethe answered.
