Thursday Fiction 385: Parallel Slip 2: Rebel

Welcome back to a new Thursday Fiction, it's been a while. We continue with Parallel Slip 2: Rebel where we left of last time, following Isabelle as she figure out who she really is.

“She is mad because my brother got a voice on the first day and I still don't have mine. She loves him more than me, but not just because of the voice though, just because that's the way it is. When you said wrong, I thought you meant that I was wrong, that you believed like she does and were disappointed in me.”

“Oh, no, oh, no, definitely not, you're perfect, ok. She is wrong, you are awesome, I couldn't have dream better,” Isabelle said.

“Really?”

“Really!” Isabelle said and she realized that she meant it but at the same time, she had never been that nice to herself either. She had always in a side of her heart believed her mother.

“So you want to get rid of the tracker so that she doesn't follow you around?”

“Yes, otherwise she'll get into your mother soon and ruin everything for us.”

Wednesday Snippet 387: Fairy World 28

Welcome back to Wednesday Snippet. This week, we continue with Fairy World unedited just where we left off last week

"But you said he should go get a new soul in the Demon World," Deborah said.

The queen fairy laughed.

"Nobody can go anywhere from here," she said. "There is no magic left in this world, the one who are here are here to stay and I want this phoenix to work for me and take care of some very particular intruders."

"How can the magic be gone?" Deborah answered.

"If someone asks you, you'll say you don't know," the queen fairy answered. "Take her to Amarelis, she is as exasperating, they will enjoy each other very much."

The fairy dressed in blue pulled on Deborah's arm to make her stand up. She clung at Yue all she could but she was finally dragged out of the room and down the stairs. Always, always further down. After never seeing the sun in the Angel World, she felt like she would never see the sun in this world either.

Tuesday Travel 183: Witch Raising: The Book of Earth 30

Welcome to Tuesday Travel. This week we are following Brownie on her journey as she is going toward the second element: Earth.

About Witch Raising.

Witch Raising is a new series with Brownie, the heroine of Demon Soul as the main character. This series is part of the House at the Crossing Series and follows Demon Soul and Demon and Fairy but instead of being centered on the adventure of Sahel and his demon friends, it follows Brownie as she goes from being a normal girl to a bad ass witch. She has been practicing magick for a while now, saving people from difficult situations but the people at the house, including Sahel aren't happy with her new calling. Feeling that she doesn't have a choice and has to keep learning witchcraft, Brownie leaves to meet other witches.

The excerpt, we start right where we left off last time.

Brownie looked at her from above and rised an eyebrow. She had to be a magical one, just like Gideon, she had inner magic that she could use for daily manual task and there was nothing Brownie could do to stop that. Somehow, they had it easy. What ever they wanted they could go the magical way to get it, whether it was closing the curtains in the bedroom without getting up, cutting vegetables for diner without touching a knife, creating light in a dark room. She had seen Gideon spending his entire day using magic without any consequences and that drove her crazy, because everything she did required a high level of concentration and if she wasn't in the right state of mind, there was no way to tell if the spell was going to work. She needed the right ingredients, the right time of the month, damn sometimes even the right hour of the day. There was no way for her to do anything without actually doing it manually, she couldn't use her powers for triviality and no matter what she did, if the universe thought it was wrong, she was going to be punished for it.

That was so unfair and now this girl here, almost killed her and she was the bitch!

“You haven't seen bitch yet,” Brownie said. “And trust me, you don't want to see it.”

“Like you could possibly take me on, cake,” Daphy said. “You better not try anything.”

Brownie took a piece of cray out of her bag, draw a line on the side of her couch from head to toes and drew a small pentagram on it near the ladder with the point going out. That was at least going to keep Daphy's magic out, whatever it was. There was no way she was letting her guard down in front of that girl. She didn't even know how Daphy had thought it was ok to talk about magic to her without knowing her. Did she also have super powers that made her recognize witches when she saw them?

Mystery Monday 180: Murder at the Conference 77

Hello and welcome to a new Mystery Monday.

I hope you had a great week-end. Here is a new little part of Murder at the Conference. Murder at the Conference is a stand alone sequel to Harajuku Kiss.

We start right were we left off last week:

The music blasted in my ears.

“You're so fucking childish,” she yelled.

I increased to volume, not caring. I had never done that before. Seiji had told me many time that if I didn't want listen to Christa talking to the student or doing things I should do it, but I had never taken it to heart to actually do it. Maybe she was right, maybe it was childish but what was I supposed to do. Let her talk me into another panic attack. I couldn't stop the trembling of my hands and I was unable to take deep breath. I felt like no matter how hard I tried I just couldn't get enough air.

She was back at her desk, typing furiously, so I lowered the music and finally muted it. I kept the earphones in my ears, just to make sure the conversation wasn't going to start again and concentrated on my reading. It wasn't really easy. The conversation was over with her but it wasn't really over in my head.

About Harajuku Kiss

At times, life can be so depressing. She is walking her usual recovery tour in Harajuku, finishing with a crepe, tying to forget that her boyfriend dumped her once again for the week-end... When the unthinkable happens... A boy stops in front of her in the street and kisses her, in to discover more about him, she is dragged into a dangerous game of mystery. A biologist has been murdered and a deadly virus is on the loose. First suspect: the mysterious Harajuku's stranger.
