Wednesday Snippet 293: Blue Angel

Welcome to a new part of Blue Angel unedited, we start right where we left off last week.

This week, we are with Torsti and Odeon.

“I'm sorry,” he muttered as he had fought here and participated to this trauma of the ground and the earth invited him to get even deeper inside of her as if she needed to share her pain and tragedy with someone. But it wasn't all pain, the image of hope flew threw Odeon's mind quickly and he saw the ground collapse, the earth wanted to capture the pain and the one who had made the cave collapse knew it. He was the one Odeon needed to find if he wanted an answer to his question. The earth was taking him back up to the ground level.

“Wait, tell me where my brother is, please,” Odeon begged but it was over, the earth had broken the connection between them and he had no way to get it back. He sighed and sat back his hands bellow his back.

“So any news from under-ground,” Torsti asked.

Odeon turned around to look at him.

“We need to find the guy who made the cave collapse,” Odeon said sighing.

“Good idea, I thought about it too, no need diving for that,” Torsti said. “ I have better, a entrance to a tunnel, I don't know where it leads but it still worth exploring.”

“Let's get done with it,” Odeon said.

The entrance of the cave was only few hundreds meter from here, down hill. It was half hidden by wooden branches and bushes.

“How did you manage to find that?” Odeon asked impressed.

“Call it my brother instinct,” Torsti answered laughing, “Truth is, I don't have any idea really.”

“Hum, brother instinct,” Odeon said. “I hope we'll find traces of Lonan soon enough.”

“Knowing him he probably didn't let them take him away without making a mess,” Torsti answered.

“He still looked pretty scared,” Odeon said

“But you know that never last long,” Torsti answered.

Tuesday Travel 83: Witch Raising: The Book of Fire

Welcome to Tuesday Travel. Every Tuesday, I will be presenting an excerpt of Witch Raising: The Book of Fire, the book in which Brownie, the heroine of Demon Soul, is undertaking an initiatory journey.

About Witch Raising: The Book of Fire

Witch Raising is a new series with Brownie, the heroine of Demon Soul as the main character. This series is part of the House at the Crossing Series and follows Demon Soul and Demon and Fairy but instead of being centered on the adventure of Sahel and his demon friends, it follows Brownie as she goes from being a normal girl to a bad ass witch. She has been practicing magick for a while now, saving people from difficult situations but the people at the house, including Sahel aren't happy with her new calling. Feeling that she doesn't have a choice and has to keep learning witchcraft, Brownie leaves to meet other witches.

The excerpt, we start where we left off last week

She had a lot of siblings and there was always one prone to be a pain and stay behind but they still never really ditched anyone, at least not on purpose.

"Come on, he isn't going to climb to the next temple anyway, we just have to go on ahead and we'll meet him tonight at the hotel, I'm tired of not moving, if he wanted to go shopping, he should have stayed with Marri and Sandy," Samantha said.

Brownie looked back at Josh who was looking at postcards. Samantha had a point, there would be a lot of time to catch up on shopping later in the evening or the next day, the parade was only today and she wanted to see what happened when it arrived at the cave. It would take her longer to get there as they had planned to go to the mountain temple so they had to get ahead.

"Ok," Brownie said. "Let's go."

"We can always pretend that we just lost him in the crowd," Samantha said winking.

Brownie wasn't too sure about that, because as soon as they started to walk faster, Josh came jogging behind them. It was as if he didn't care about the stands around anymore. Something in the energy around had also shifted. Somehow it seemed that Josh really wanted to stay with them, but something more that Brownie didn't understand was happening too. Because under her T-shirt, her aquamarine stone had started to spin against her skin. It was a strange feeling and somehow it seemed to be related to Josh being around even though it was the first time it started to spin today. Brownie tried to test for magic around but she found nothing. The crowd was moving too fast, it was too noisy, ever changing. She wasn't in a great place to concentrate on magic right now. She just followed Samantha and tried to pay more attention to the surrounding and especially the lion statues and the lion dancers who emerged out of nowhere around her. If she was ever to recall to anyone that she had been in Fireden for the Autumn Lion Fire Festival, she needed to remember what those lions looked like even if until now, they had seemed very elusive.

Mystery Monday 86: Harajuku Kiss

Welcome Mystery Monday. For this weekly writing blog post, I will be presenting snippets of my novel Harajuku Kiss, a mystery romance in Japan.

I hope you'll enjoy following our heroine through her thoughts and adventures.

About Harajuku Kiss

At times, life can be so depressing. She is walking her usual recovery tour in Harajuku, finishing with a crepe, trying to forget that her boyfriend dumped her once again for the week-end... When the unthinkable happens... A boy stops in front of her in the street and kisses her, in the middle of the street, before running away.
Trying to discover more about him, she is dragged into a dangerous game of mystery. A biologist has been murdered and a deadly virus is on the loose. First suspect: the mysterious Harajuku's stranger.

Here is the snippet for this week (Check out the previous snippet here)

So here was the dilemma in my mind. What did I really want? Did I want to help Seiji or not? Did I want to help a complete stranger who probably already forgot about me and has another copy of everything so that he could dispose of that one so easily? Did I want to spend my entire Sunday trying to understand something which could possibly lead me nowhere? These were the questions indeed. But the true real question, the deep and meaningful and only real question here was the one which had been haunting me for weeks and even months.

Is there anything you want?”

WeWriWar 342: The House at the Crossing 48

Hello everybody and welcome for a new Sunday of writing with Weekend Writing Warrior and Snippet Sunday!

How are you doing?
We had a huge earthquake a few days ago but everything is fine.

Let's continue with  "The House at the Crossing" and it's a prequel to Demon Soul and the demon series. It's a bit of a mix of Fantasy and Science-fiction.

It follows one of the books more obscure character as she first comes into the House. It's supposed to explain why there are so many people is the house and sort of where they come from and at the same time be a first time adventure for the main character as she needs to adapt to her new role and the new version of who she is.

Let's start right at where we left off last week, can you see the changes in Margo's memories?

I put the crib on the floor and Malicia on the changing table. I'm glad the others aren't awake yet but I know that Hiroshi should wake up soon, he has a pretty regular schedule. Ryan has a tendency to sleep through meal time, even if his sister is crying but he would cry and wake her up in the middle of her nap. Mikala and Hiroshi were so much in sink that I could sleep the night. With Ryan and Malicia, that will not be happening.
“This place is good for kids to grow up in, they won't know unless you decide to show them,” Aunt Teresa says.
“With a vampire, really?” I ask.
“Viorel is harmless, at least in this house and to the guardian,” Aunt Teresa says.
