WeWriWar 331: The House at the Crossing 37

Hello everybody and welcome for a new Sunday of writing with Weekend Writing Warrior and Snippet Sunday!
Let's continue with  "The House at the Crossing" and it's a prequel to Demon Soul and the demon series. It's a bit of a mix of Fantasy and Science-fiction.
It follows one of the books more obscure character as she first come into the House. It's suppose to explain why there are so many people is the house and sort of where they come from and at the same time be a first time adventure for the main character as she needs to adapt to her new role and the new version of who she is.
Does anyone else find those changes in blogger very annoying. It's like everything is still there and the same but all different and confusing!

Let's start right at where we left off last week !

The other version of me pass me the bottle being careful not to touch me. There is only two of us now. I don't know if it's going to last but we seem to be on the same page with being ourselves. She doesn't want to be assimilated to me and I don't want to be assimilated to her. She is me but she looks so different. I would never have cut my hair like this. Something terrible must have happen. I don't know anything about her and every time I think I do I push it away as much as I can. Not because I'm rejecting her or maybe we are just rejecting each other but because if someone so different from me can be me, I'm not sure who I would be anymore.

“So what is it being a guardian? What does a guardian do? What are we supposed to guard?” My other self asked.

Vampire Friday: Vampire Heart 276

Welcome to a new part of Vampire Heart unedited. Have you been bitten yet? Sign up to be part of our awesome Vampire Friday blog hop team! You know you want to!

Summary of the previous episodes: Viorel has been tortured by his supposed family who wanted to have him burn in the sun. Strangely enough the sun didn't burn him as expected but Viorel has no memory of who he is. Following the advises of his supposed father, he left Sighișoara and is now traveling to the West. After some skirmish in a previous city, he found refuge on a boat. Viorel is now in Vienna. The little problem is that the guy at the inn was a bit of an asshole and helped capture Viorel thinking he was a vampire, which he is but nobody needs to know. Now there is a huge man (which I call the colossi) taking care of Viorel and a priest. They brought a girl. Torture my holy water... Fail. Viorel managed to confuse everyone, now he would like to get out of here. But the girl seems pretty useless. They still managed to escape and he left the girl to the care of the boat lady before going back to have two words with his captors but his power of persuasion were failing him. The priest wanted to crack a deal but Viorel is not really up to help his enemies. He finally got some blood but he can't risk to stay in Vienna. He travel to Linz were he stays a bit to learn German.
Viorel wanted to go to Praha but redirect himself toward Augsburg instead where he wants to get a horse, except that the horses are a bit scared of his vampirism and maybe something else. Viorel is really not a horse expert. Then he comes into an altercation with couple of people, he wants some fear in his blood. The girl Viorel has found seemed to enjoy the game. Viorel prepares for the nightmares that come with a feast of blood, in a rush to leave, he cross the dukedom of Lorrain.
We introduced Sorina, three weeks after the beginning of Viorel's escape.
Viorel dreamed of Sorina and woke up not really remembering anything. Traveling to Paris, he arrives at "La cour des miracles". He is rescued by a stranger who turned out to be Nicolas Flamel, the alchemist he was looking for. Nicolas does some strange experiment without Viorel's agreement. Some people are looking for Nicolas's secrets. On the other side of Europe, Sorina awakes and Viorel's past in haunting him. Viorel discovered that he can change into a wolf but that's not the easiest thing to handle. After finding out that a younger version of Nicolas might not be acting with his best interest at heart, Viorel decides to leave for the north. He is now traveling with two people, Alexej who needed to get out of Praha and Irina who he accidentally rescued.

Now, let's continue with Vampire Heart, right where we left off last week.

“What are you waiting for?” Alexej asked. Irina was already sitting in the carriage with her cat on her laps trying to make the poor animal lay down while it wanted to have a taste of the warm food she had brought with her.
“Nothing,” I reply sitting in the carriage.
I had barely time to close the door that Alexej was already driving the carriage out of the village with good speed.
Through the window, the wood around the village were deep and dark. I could imagine why the villagers were scared of any wild animal coming out and had checked the carriage.
“So do you want me to tell you about the things you made me read,” Irina said.
“Don’t you want to go to church?” I answered.
Irina looked outside with guild on her face, I had seen that expression on Sorina’s face before. I knew that it was what their god did to human. “I feel bad for not going, really, really bad but I know that if I go, I will feel even worth, I want to go there to get absolution for having been bitten by you and at the same time I want you to bite me again. I feel helpless when I think about the church and I don’t know what I should do. I think everything will be better when we arrive and I can go to a real church…” she sighed deeply as if she had been carrying a heavy burden in her chest.
“What do you mean, go to a real church?” I asked.
“The church is not the same everywhere, we are Christian but believes differ a lot. My mum always wanted to go to church, no matter where she said that gods house is always gods house and that he will listen but I never liked what they said in the catholic church in Praha, they were so hard and you couldn’t really cry, nobody cried, they all had extremely tensed face, especially when praying, as if it needed to be painful. When I cried the first time, they looked at me as if I was crazy, so I stopped. I need to cry in church it is my way to feel god entering me, I need to pray until I can’t feel anything anymore and everything is released out of me with my tears. My tears are the sorrow and joy that god is taking away from me to make me feel good and myself again.”
I didn’t understand what she meant and I didn’t ask more. She seems to be so tormented, as if she was going to start crying now and I wasn’t sure that I could handle it even if she had said it made her feel better. I couldn’t never handle it when Sorina cried.

Thursday Fiction 266: Parallel Slip

Welcome back to a new part of Parallel Slip, where we follow the adventures of Frederique through her slip in different parallel universes.

Let's start right where we left off last week.

"I'm not sure," Alex said, "even my sister can't be that stupid in two different universes."
The water had been boiling for a while. I went over it and poured pasta for two.
"Let's eat something first and deal with it later, I can't think after a black out unless I eat something," I said.
I wasn't hungry anymore. Amy had turned my appetite away. I wanted nothing more than to sleep now. She had also taken away my determination to get the stat of my black out done or at least started tonight. I couldn't let that happen. I moved the pasta in the water looking at the bubbles. I had messed up in the other universe. I wonder if it was the first time or if I had already taken drastic changes that messed up my other selves life. I wanted to believe I was a champion who was going there to help them and to make better decisions than they could but I had no proof that was true.
Maybe I messed up everything and that would make sense. How would I feel if someone was to jump in my body and take important decision instead of me probably opposite one.
On the night of the party, I had made the decision for Amy, of course she seemed happy at the time but she always seemed happy, even when lying to me.
My mother had tried to decide what my life should be for me and I hated it and in the end I had been doing it for others. And I always thought myself better than my other selves because I was the one traveling but that was wrong because we were the same person, all of us and I was just playing games but it was their lifes at stack on the other side. And then there was my father. If it was true that Michelle's father had been the one jumping in his body to take care of me, he had also been the one jumping on his body and making him think he was crazy and leaving me and my mum. If he had left us alone, maybe everything would be different and...

Wednesday Snippet 268: Blue Angel

Welcome to a new part of Blue Angel unedited, we start right where we left off last time.

“The stronger the better, we will get out of here more quickly,” Kelpie said.
“I'm not sure I can stay like that too long,” Jezabel answered.
“Be a good angel, ok, I promise it will totally worse the effort."
The first drop of water felt on the ground. Kelpie placed himself below Jezabel trying to catch the next one. It felt on his forehead. That's what he needed. A second drop, a third drop, he was getting wet slowly. He didn't know how many drop it would take so he stopped counting them. He started to feel the power of the water inside of him. It was warmed up by Jezabel's arm, she was unaware that she contributed in making it stronger but Kelpie could feel it. He close his eyes letting more and more water come to him. There was no need to rush the water was soon going to flow in his vein, just a little more time, just a little more.
The meal trap opened and Jezabel startle making more water fell on Kelpie's face.
“What the hell are you doing?” the voice of a male fairy said.
Kelpie choose that moment to change and rise up through the dripping water catching Jezabel on his horse's back, few minutes later they emerges at his usual spot way far down the river.
Kelpie walked out of the water carrying the angel. She was clinging at his back, probably scared she weighted like a feather, very light, that wasn't a disagreeable sensation.
“Could you get down? You're pulling on my mane,” he said shacking himself a bit.
Jezabel seemed to realise what had just happen. She fell of his back on her bottom.
“You're a horse and you can speak and where are we?” She looked around a bit confused.
