Wednesday Snippet 260: Blue Angel

Welcome to a new part of Blue Angel unedited, we start right where we left off last time.

He flew down to the demon holding the metallic jaws and hit the lower one with his hammer. A sound of broken metal resonated in the air as the shock wave propagated through the deadly instrument shaking the demon holding it until he felt on the floor. Torsti landed near him with a feet on the rest of the jaw and hit it with his hammer. The shock wave didn't seem to bother him but the arms of the demons dislocated as he yelled out of pain.
Odeon landed next to the other demon placing a large bubble of water around him, the demon struggled for a while then seemed to calm down and a fireball escaped the water. Odeon dropped the bubble to stop the hit and he turned to place his face straight near the face of the demon and blow in his face. A white smoke surrounded the demon's head and he rose in the air as Torsti smashed the head of the other with his hammer.
“Damn those guys, my hammer needs cleaning now,” he said looking at the demon floating near his brothers head.
“And I thought you wanted to play it nice and follow them home before making a mess,” Torsti said.
“That guy tried to swallow me with jaws in the middle of a freaking parking lot,” Odeon said as if it was a good excuse.
I touched the shoulder of the demon and yellow sparks came out of his fingertips.
The demon started to speak.

Tuesday Travel 49: Witch Raising: The Book of Fire

Welcome to Tuesday Travel. Every Tuesday, I will be presenting an excerpt of Witch Raising: The Book of Fire, the book in which Brownie, the heroine of Demon Soul, is undertaking an initiatory journey.

About Witch Raising: The Book of Fire

Witch Raising is a new series with Brownie, the heroine of Demon Soul as the main character. This series is part of the House at the Crossing Series and follows Demon Soul and Demon and Fairy but instead of being centered on the adventure of Sahel and his demon friends, it follows Brownie as she goes from being a normal girl to a bad ass witch. She has been practicing magick for a while now, saving people from difficult situations but the people at the house, including Sahel aren't happy with her new calling. Feeling that she doesn't have a choice and has to keep learning witchcraft, Brownie leaves to meet other witches.

The excerpt, we start where we left off last time

Brownie turned around feeling lucky to be young enough and to still have all her memories, wondering what Yue felt with his memory gone, if he was just recreating the past like Katherina seemed to be doing or if he was just lost with nothing left but a vague purpose of finding her and have her restore his memory.
The more she though about it, the more her heart broke. She had loved Sahel because of his soul only, they had had good time but because she saw Yue inside of him. She never really considered the fact that she might not love Sahel for himself but only because of what he represented. He had qualities but what was it really to love someone? She wasn't too sure anymore.
She was a bit defeated when she walked to the next inn. It was a covered with greenery and she wondered why it was so different from the rest. There was nothing there mentioning fire and she hope she would finally get a room here.
The inside was clean and smelled like the inside of a bakery store. It was so good that it brought early memories back to Brownie's mind, when she was just a little girl and her mother would be home a bit more often and bake on the Sunday mornings. Or when they would go the bakery with her father and he would buy her a candy. It was rather strange because that was before she was five and she had never recalled any memories of it before. It was before she entered the house at the crossing, before her parents died. It was an intense memory, too much to take and she almost walked out but a male voice called from the back.
"How can I help you?"

Mystery Monday 52: Harajuku Kiss

Welcome Mystery Monday. For this weekly writing blog post, I will be presenting snippets of my novel Harajuku Kiss, a mystery romance in Japan.
I hope you'll enjoy following our heroine through her thoughts and adventures.

About Harajuku Kiss

At times, life can be so depressing. She is walking her usual recovery tour in Harajuku, finishing with a crepe, trying to forget that her boyfriend dumped her once again for the week-end... When the unthinkable happens... A boy stops in front of her in the street and kisses her, in the middle of the street, before running away.
Trying to discover more about him, she is dragged into a dangerous game of mystery. A biologist has been murdered and a deadly virus is on the loose. First suspect: the mysterious Harajuku's stranger.

Here is the snippet for this week

“Nothing,” I answered. “There is nothing I want anymore, just leave me alone.”
But I knew deep inside my heart - and my subconscious knew it as well - this wasn’t true. Just, I couldn’t formulate what I wanted. I was looking for answers about myself and it seemed they lay in front of me, blurry and unreachable as always.
Don’t look at the memory stick, be a good girl for once and just sleep, you’ll have time tomorrow,” the little voice of reason in my head told me.
I closed my eyes. I knew it was right. The little voice of reason is always right. I could hear it. I just had a hard time listening to it.

WeWriWar 322: The House at the Crossing 28

Hello everybody and welcome for a new Sunday of writing with Weekend Writing Warrior and Snippet Sunday!
Let's continue with  "The House at the Crossing" and it's a prequel to Demon Soul and the demon series. It's a bit of a mix of Fantasy and Science-fiction.
It follows one of the books more obscure character as she first come into the House. It's suppose to explain why there are so many people is the house and sort of where they come from and at the same time be a first time adventure for the main character as she needs to adapt to her new role and the new version of who she is.

Is anyone participating to Camp NaNoWriMo? I probably should but I haven't started yet. I have been crocheting like crazy on a blanket project for a CAL.

Stay home people, stay safe. Lots of books to write anyway!

Let's start right at where we left off last week !

“Normal people, like the rest of my family, my friends... they only see one of themselves and only the stronger version of them interact with the others and with you, the others are just echo they can glimpse at once in a while. You my dear will see them all, as soon as you are back at being one.”
“So is there only one of you or are there multiple versions of you that I can't see?” I asked.
“There is only one of me, because I'm a guardian, just like you. I am here to make sure the house functions as it should,” Aunt Teresa said. “If I go out however, there are always multiple of me coming back, it lasts a while then settles and my life is all the richer because of it.”
I tried once again to drink the hot tea. I was starting to get a headache but the smell of lavender was at least calming me down a little.
