Thursday Fiction 223: Parallel Slip

Welcome back to a new part of Parallel Slip, where we follow the adventures of Frederique through her slip in different parallel universes.

Let's start right where we left off last week.

And my mother would probably have blamed him for every time he wasn't doing anything correctly according to what she seemed was right. It would have made both our life terrible and I was glad I didn't have one more person to hate. My mother hadn't expressed any desire to meet me for spring break and my father thought he had to apologize for it. He made me call her and she told me everything was fine on the first one that she didn't understand why I would ask as my father was so much better than her. Then she ignored my following phone calls and I ended up giving up. She was hurt by me running away and that made me feel bad but somehow, it was a choice between hurting her and hurting myself. It didn't have to be like this but she would never listen or try to fix it. It was her way or nothing and our relationship had finally reached nothing.
I sat in the electromagnetism class, I was way in advance which was enough to give me time to browse through the book Alex had given me. This was going to be interesting.
"She is so unbelievable, I'm sorry about that," Alex said sitting next to me.
"You never told me what happened during the holidays so go ahead before she gives me her version," I said sighing.
"Nothing happened," Alex answered.

Wednesday Snippet 225: Blue Angel

Welcome to a new part of Blue Angel unedited, we start right where we left off last time.

As if he had heard his thought, Odeon opened the door and through him his clothes.
“If you are going to get down there, put those on first and make sure to be careful, I don't want to have to rescue two brothers,” he said. Torsti smirked and grabbed the clothes before they fell on the floor.
“Hum, fresh I can't recognized you used soap and demon dried,” he said laughing.
“Stop joking around, I'm really not in the mood,” Odeon said closing the door of the bathroom after him.
Torsti opened the curtains and bit and kept his watch while putting his pants on. The fight down there was amplifying, it was reassuring to see that the Hunters didn't have only friends with the local population.
He startle at a knock on the door. He grabbed his hammer tight and put the rest of his clothes on the bed.
“Who is it?” he said at the door making sure to stay hidden against the wall. He had seen too many demons being found dead by looking through the peeping hole.
“It's breakfast.”

Tuesday Travel 14: Witch Raising: The Book of Fire

Welcome to the first Tuesday Travel post. Every Tuesday, I will be presenting an excerpt of Witch Raising: The Book of Fire.

About Witch Raising: The Book of Fire

Witch Raising is a new series with Brownie, the heroine of Demon Soul as the main character. This series is part of the House at the Crossing Series and follows Demon Soul and Demon and Fairy but instead of being centered on the adventure of Sahel and his demon friends, it follows Brownie as she goes from being a normal girl to a bad ass witch. She has been practicing magick for a while now, saving people from difficult situations but the people at the house, including Sahel aren't happy with her new calling. Feeling that she doesn't have a choice and has to keep learning witchcraft, Brownie leaves to meet other witches.

The excerpt, we start where we left off last week

“You put Seti and Kallisto's life in danger when you decided to go “boys only” to the fairy world and separated them,” Brownie said. “I saved my sister's and your friend's life. Thank you sound a lot more appropriate that “What have you done” right now.”
“No, you decided that they couldn't deal on their own, that we weren't doing anything in the Fairy World to help them and as a result you put yourself and Seti's sister in danger, recklessly with magic you don't understand, as usual.” Sahel answered.
“Magic, YOU don't understand,” Brownie said, “What scares you is that you have no idea how I do it so it has to be bad because I'm not a demon using a demon skill.”
“I'm scared of losing you, you use dangerous magic demons wouldn't even dare to use, nobody dives into other people's body like that, there are consequences that you don't understand.”
“That's not what you said when I dived into your consciousness to bring you back,” Brownie said.
“She has a point,” Sahel's dark shadow emerged from under the door.
“We are not counting points and we don't need you here, this is a private conversation,” Sahel said.
Brownie turned around to take care of her other waffle. So much stress was coursing her veins, she wanted to yell at the top of her voice but she had to stay calm. Every single bit of rising her voice seemed to always make Sahel right in his mind, it was crazy, it was driving her insane.
“Diving into me was much different, there was no other choice,” Sahel said.
“When I use magic for you, to do what you need me to do, you are happy about it. But as soon as I do it for myself or for someone else it's a big no no,” Brownie said.

Mystery Monday 14: Harajuku Kiss

Welcome Mystery Monday. For this weekly writing blog post, I will be presenting snippets of my novel Harajuku Kiss, a mystery romance in Japan.
I hope you'll enjoy following our heroine through her thoughts and adventures.

About Harajuku Kiss

At times, life can be so depressing. She is walking her usual recovery tour in Harajuku, finishing with a crepe, trying to forget that her boyfriend dumped her once again for the week-end... When the unthinkable happens... A boy stops in front of her in the street and kisses her, in the middle of the street, before running away.
Trying to discover more about him, she is dragged into a dangerous game of mystery. A biologist has been murdered and a deadly virus is on the loose. First suspect: the mysterious Harajuku's stranger.

Here is the snippet for this week

He closed his eye. Sleep would stop his thoughts about them, about his wife, about death, about anything at all. He wasn’t frightened anymore, after all he expected to die.

The driver made a turn to a bumpy road. Kaji's body shook up and down. The driver pressed the brakes and Kaji hit the back of the trunk.

“He is not dead yet,” he heard the first man say with an anxious voice.

“Of course he is, just get him out,” the second one said.
