Welcome back to a new Thursday Fiction, it's been a while. We continue with Parallel Slip 2: Rebel where we left of last time, following Isabelle as she figure out who she really is.
“That must be a hard place to live in,” Nanurah-Isabelle answered. “Imagine that roots are growing at the back of your spine, large roots entering the ground, very strong and very thick.”
The roots were strange, a melange of the roots Isabelle new, the brown from the oak tree in the garden, very strong and dark and then part of them were white and they seemed to carry light and Isabelle realized those were her other self's version, the roots in her world also had a different colors. Isabelle was a spectator as the roots coming down from both their spine broke the hill under her other self and broke the floor tiles in her bathroom straight through the next floor. They were going down and down to the center of the planet and the further down they went, the more Isabelle relaxed and felt safe. The roots rolled and gripped at the planet core as if to embrace it.
“Good, now that we are grounded, I need you to focus on something in your world, something that you like and that you can hold in your hand.”
There wasn't much in the bathroom that fit the description. Isabelle opened her jewel box and took a pendant out. It was made of an upside down pyramid shaped green stone. She wasn't sure what stone. Her father gave it to her a while back, before he was kicked out of the house.
“That will do,” Nanurah-Isabelle said. “Now focus on it, visualize it in your mind and try to feel the pulse in your hand while holding it.”
