We introduced Sorina, three weeks after the beginning of Viorel's escape.
Viorel dreamed of Sorina and woke up not really remembering anything. Traveling to Paris, he arrives at "La cour des miracles". He is rescued by a stranger who turned out to be Nicolas Flamel, the alchemist he was looking for. Nicolas does some strange experiment without Viorel's agreement. Some people are looking for Nicolas's secrets. On the other side of Europe, Sorina awakes and Viorel's past in haunting him. Viorel discovered that he can change into a wolf but that's not the easiest thing to handle. After finding out that a younger version of Nicolas might not be acting with his best interest at heart, Viorel decides to leave for the north. He is now traveling with two people, Alexej who needed to get out of Praha and Irina who he accidentally rescued.
Now, let's continue with Vampire Heart, right where we left off last week.
“I don’t remember asking you if you wanted to go. I’m telling that we are going to town,” I said.
“There are dragons out there, the town is half empty, people have gone to the country side, it’s not a good idea, it’s really dangerous,” the inn keeper’s wife said.
“I’ll prepare the carriage for the beginning of the afternoon,” Alexej said smirking at me as if he wanted to tell me that we were on the same side. It was nice to feel a bit of support. I didn’t like direct confrontation.
Irina left the room in a hurry but I wasn’t going to let her get away with it so easily.
“Leave the breakfast, I’ll be back,” I said to the inn keeper’s wife. I felt sorry for her being caught in the crossed fire.
I ran after Irina, she was turning like a lion in cage in her bedroom.
“You won’t make me change my mind, I’m not going,” she said.
“You don’t have choice,” I answered.
“You betrayed me, you betrayed me, I want nothing to do with you anymore, just leave me here and continue with your life,” she yelled.
She was furious. I didn’t see where the idea of betrayal was coming from, I didn’t want to play little game anymore.
“We decided that you need winter clothes to go to the North because yours are not good enough, you are cold all the time already, yours are too thin” I said avoiding the subject.
“You betrayed me, I trusted you but you betrayed me, you lied to me,” she yelled again.
There was no way of escaping it, her logic amazed me but I had to go into that conversation if I wanted her to at least cooperate, or bite her, I wanted to shake her and bite her at the moment I really hated her. Going to look for her in the wood I had saved her life, she would have died of cold or eaten by the real wolves out there, or bears for all I knew.
