Summary of the previous episodes:
Viorel has been tortured by his
supposed family who wanted to have him burn in the sun. Strangely
enough the sun didn't burn him as expected but Viorel has no memory of
who he is. Following the advises of his supposed father, he left
Sighișoara and is now traveling to the West. After some skirmish in a
previous city, he found refuge on a boat. Viorel is now in Vienna. The
little problem is that the guy at the inn was a bit of an asshole
and helped capture Viorel thinking he was a vampire, which he is but
nobody needs to know. Now there is a huge man (which I call the colossi)
taking care of Viorel and a priest. They brought a girl. Torture my
holy water... Fail. Viorel managed to confuse everyone, now he would
like to get out of here. But the girl seems pretty useless. They still
managed to escape and he left the girl to the care of the boat lady
before going back to have two words with his captors but his power of
persuasion were failing him. The priest wanted to crack a
deal but Viorel is not really up to help his enemies. He finally got
some blood but he can't risk to stay in Vienna. He travel to Linz were
he stays a bit to learn German.
Viorel wanted to go to Praha but redirect himself toward Augsburg
instead where he wants to get a horse, except that the horses are a bit
scared of his vampirism and maybe something else. Viorel is really not a
horse expert. Then he comes into an altercation with couple of people,
he wants some fear in his blood. The girl Viorel has found seemed to
enjoy the game. Viorel prepares for the nightmares that come with a
feast of blood, in a rush to leave, he cross the dukedom of Lorrain.
We introduced Sorina, three weeks after the beginning of Viorel's escape.
Viorel dreamed of Sorina and woke up not really remembering anything.
Traveling to Paris, he arrives at "La cour des miracles". He is rescued
by a stranger who turned out to be Nicolas Flamel, the alchemist he was
looking for. Nicolas does some strange experiment without Viorel's
agreement. Some people are looking for Nicolas's secrets.
On the other side of Europe, Sorina awakes and Viorel's past in haunting
him. Viorel discovered that he can change into a wolf but that's not
the easiest thing to handle. After finding out that a younger version of Nicolas might not be acting
with his best interest at heart, Viorel decides to leave for the north.
He is now traveling with two people, Alexej who needed to get out of
Praha and Irina who he accidentally rescued.

Now, let's continue with Vampire Heart, right where we left off last week.
I could imagine that he had been in pain, Vampires didn’t really need to digest they only drunk block, sucking it inside of them and it would go through the skin in the mouth and throat and stomach and been absorb and float the veins propagating in the all body as the sucking went on and filling us with power and strength. I wonder if the vampire chewing on his meat had been trying to absorb something else because he was so thirsty. The Jäger never really said anything about it for they didn’t ask that kind of questions, they only observed and tortured the vampire to get another kind of answer. They wanted a knowledge that you render them immortal but no vampires could have given it to them. All it was about really was the philosopher stone again and they were trying to get it through means that even Nicolas who might have been willing to go to extended experiment would have though despicable. The journals went on and on about the vampire body and the transformation and the oddity of comportment. There was nothing odd for me with the vampires, they were trying to escape their fate, to survive or to kill themselves. One of them even walked in the sun from his own will apparently, I was doubting it as the Jäger seemed aware of what would happen to him. The poor fool probably didn’t know what was awaiting him.
The Jäger taking it on vampires would surprise me much and it was fair and square somehow, they wanted something, they killed us for it and we killed them in return but them taking it on new born vampires they could have educated to fill their needs was revulsive for me. It was the worse it was what made them exactly the same as they would depict us. They were inhuman monsters and according to Irina as the kingdom of Poland was famous for legends and magick, there might have a lot of them all around us. She would look at any clergy men with a suspicious look trying to see if they belonged to the Jäger, she said she would feel them by the way they would look at me and at her because we sounded, especially me, like foreigner. At the same time, she was forcing me to go to church with her and we had to bring Alexej as well. He wasn’t really reticent about it but he was a lot happier after going out. Irina said that going to church was the only way for us not too long to suspicious and I somehow agreed with her. Going to church was fairly new to me and it was an interesting experience as well. The inside of the different churches we crossed on our way was always the same. Statues of saint and Jesus, they couldn’t represent their god so they had chosen a substitute they called his son, painting sometimes terrible and violent, stained glasses always in bright color and at the start I had trouble seeing the shape drawn on them clearly. And the priest with his bible, talking and talking for more than an hour without interruption except for some thinking sometimes. People kneeling at the front or standing at the back with their hat on their chest and praying. They would repeat the words of the priest and I would halfheartedly repeat them under Irina’s pressure.
