Welcome to a new excerpt of Rainbow Catcher for the Weekend Writing Warrior and Snippet Sunday.
Now let's go back to our story.
Summary of previous episodes: Clarissa is coughing and wanted to watch Everett Cooper on TV but Jason refused, she is due to get her rainbow the next day but she seems scared, to make her feel better Jason leave the TV on. Clarissa tried to explain about rainbows, she is a big fan of Everett Cooper but Jason is not too sure about it. Clarissa complained about her dialophone but Jason needs to go to work. Before completely leaving he is thinking about getting her her rainbow. We flashed back to the meeting Jason had with a rainbow seller at the black market. Jason left Clarissa's room to go to work. Jason was talking to his boss about the rainbow coming the next day. Jason prepared the money for the rainbow in a sport bag and went to the hospital. The rainbow seller arrived for the delivery.
When he arrived back in Clarissa’s room, she was having an animated conversation with Markus.
“I am telling you,” she seemed to be repeating for a million time, “that ugly man couldn’t possibly be the one bringing me my rainbow, Everett Cooper will, really soon.”
Jason entered the room with a forced smile on his face.
“Doctor Marshall told me what happened, I’m sorry I wasn’t here kid,” Markus said walking toward him.
“He arrived in advance, probably to make sure the doctor wouldn’t be around, it’s not your fault. I should have been more careful,” Jason said.
He closed the door behind him and rested his back on it, crossing his arm on this chest.
“It’s unfair kid,” Markus said hitting his fist in his black hand, meaning if I had been there things would have been different.

Things would have been different? Would he have used force? Makes me think he would have. Interesting scene.
ReplyDeleteI'd wondered where Markus had been!
ReplyDelete(But now the suspicious part of me is wondering if Markus was involved in the scam.)
This is such an intriguing story! I have literally no idea what will happen next but I sure do want her to get her rainbow.
ReplyDeleteMeaning if he had been there fists would have been flying? LOL.
ReplyDeleteShe's in denial, then. Too bad. Hope it works out for her.
ReplyDeleteOh, I feel so bad for all of them. I hope they find a way to fix things.

I take it she isn't getting her rainbow just yet. Poor girl. I hope things get better for them.
