Thursday Fiction 428: Parallel Slip 2: Rebel

Welcome back to a new Thursday Fiction, it's been a while. We continue with Parallel Slip 2: Rebel where we left of last time, following Isabelle as she figure out who she really is. 

He took her back downstairs and installed her on the sofa. She wondered what they were still doing here if that was the first place the police was going to visit but she didn't say anything. Romulus seemed to have a plan and Eric seemed to be part of it. And Eric was real, and here. There was a part of her that couldn't wait to meet him and there was a part of her that was afraid of him being a huge jerk. The real Romulus was not really good looking, it seemed they couldn't be both nice and handsome. Now she was in pain and sort of drunk and hungry and nauseated. It wasn't a great combination for a first meeting. What was she even going to say to him?

“Hey, I'm the girl who sort of agreed to be kidnapped by the guy from another universe that hijack your body from time to time, I'm sorry for causing you trouble. Can I stay here for a little while and can you give me a bucket because I might vomit on your carpet?” She looked down to see if he actually had a carpet and he did. But damn that was the worse introduction ever.

Wednesday Snippet 430: Fairy World 71

Welcome back to Wednesday Snippet. This week, we continue with Fairy World unedited just where we left off last week. 

There were times when she still saw herself like the girl she was before she met Yue and before she started to use magic for him. And before... Especially before she opened the doors to her past lives. It still seemed unreal, it still felt like this wasn't really her but she knew what she was doing now. Or at least a part of her knew.

"I'm getting my sister back," she said.

"She's got to fight it herself until the boys come back," Evalynn answered.

"No," Brownie said. Just no, she didn't feel like explaining herself.

"I'm not letting you messing things up even more than they already are," Evalynn answered.

"I'm taking a dive and I'm not asking for your permission," Brownie said.

"You think you can fight me?" Evalynn said.

"I'm a witch, remember," Brownie said. "I could close you the same way I closed the vortex."

"That was cool," Samira punctuated. "What's the dive? Are you going to the sea or a lake? Sky diving?"

Tuesday Travel 226: Witch Raising: The Book of Earth 73

Welcome to Tuesday Travel. This week we are following Brownie on her journey as she is going toward the second element: Earth. 

About Witch Raising.

Witch Raising is a new series with Brownie, the heroine of Demon Soul as the main character. This series is part of the House at the Crossing Series and follows Demon Soul and Demon and Fairy but instead of being centered on the adventure of Sahel and his demon friends, it follows Brownie as she goes from being a normal girl to a bad ass witch. She has been practicing magick for a while now, saving people from difficult situations but the people at the house, including Sahel aren't happy with her new calling. Feeling that she doesn't have a choice and has to keep learning witchcraft, Brownie leaves to meet other witches. 

The excerpt starts right where we left off last week.

“Hey, hey, Cake! Wake up! What the hell?” Daphy was in front of her shaking her by both shoulders. She yawned. “You know this makes me sleepy too.”

Brownie looked around a bit disoriented. She wasn't in the dirt any more but the danger was still real. People were asleep and the hunters were no exception.

“We have to hide. We have to get these two out before they wake up. We have to make sure that the demons don't find them. We have to...”

“Hey, Cake, not so fast. What is this all about anyway?” Daphy said.

“Don't call me that,” Brownie answered standing up and dusting herself. She could still feel the dirt on her as if it had really been there in this reality. It was so realistic it was scary. She needed to learn that sleeping spell if just to protect herself from it.

Mystery Monday 223: Murder at the Conference 120

Hello mystery lovers and welcome to a new Mystery Monday.
I hope you had a great week-end. Here is a new little part of Murder at the Conference. Murder at the Conference is a stand alone sequel to Harajuku Kiss.   

We start right were we left off last week:

 

Anna had been visiting because she was giving a seminar in one of the lab. Of course, she assisted to one of the class, an experimental one which never really went well. It was long work hours and we had to speed up everything to finish on time when it wouldn't work. We were working with infrared lasers and were supposed to create a plasma. My partner at the time had placed everything correctly, we verified it and verified it and it wouldn't create anything but I was sure we were pretty close. The instructor came over to have a look and moved all our carefully placed mirrors to no avail. I was slightly pissed off, my partner was two fingers away from exploding and Anna just started to laugh.

“How exciting! I never saw anyone before made such a mess with mirrors.”
