Vampire Friday: Vampire Heart 417

Welcome to a new part of Vampire Heart unedited. Have you been bitten yet? 

Summary of the previous episodes: Viorel has been tortured by his supposed family who wanted to have him burn in the sun. Strangely enough the sun didn't burn him as expected but Viorel has no memory of who he is. Following the advises of his supposed father, he left Sighișoara and is now traveling to the West. After some skirmish in a previous city, he found refuge on a boat. Viorel is now in Vienna. The little problem is that the guy at the inn was a bit of an asshole and helped capture Viorel thinking he was a vampire, which he is but nobody needs to know. Now there is a huge man (which I call the colossi) taking care of Viorel and a priest. They brought a girl. Torture my holy water... Fail. Viorel managed to confuse everyone, now he would like to get out of here. But the girl seems pretty useless. They still managed to escape and he left the girl to the care of the boat lady before going back to have two words with his captors but his power of persuasion were failing him. The priest wanted to crack a deal but Viorel is not really up to help his enemies. He finally got some blood but he can't risk to stay in Vienna. He travel to Linz were he stays a bit to learn German.

Viorel wanted to go to Praha but redirect himself toward Augsburg instead where he wants to get a horse, except that the horses are a bit scared of his vampirism and maybe something else. Viorel is really not a horse expert. Then he comes into an altercation with couple of people, he wants some fear in his blood. The girl Viorel has found seemed to enjoy the game. Viorel prepares for the nightmares that come with a feast of blood, in a rush to leave, he cross the dukedom of Lorrain.
We introduced Sorina, three weeks after the beginning of Viorel's escape.
Viorel dreamed of Sorina and woke up not really remembering anything. Traveling to Paris, he arrives at "La cour des miracles". He is rescued by a stranger who turned out to be Nicolas Flamel, the alchemist he was looking for. Nicolas does some strange experiment without Viorel's agreement. Some people are looking for Nicolas's secrets. On the other side of Europe, Sorina awakes and Viorel's past in haunting him. Viorel discovered that he can change into a wolf but that's not the easiest thing to handle. After finding out that a younger version of Nicolas might not be acting with his best interest at heart, Viorel decides to leave for the north. He is now traveling with two people, Alexej who needed to get out of Praha and Irina who he accidentally rescued.

 

 

Now, let's continue with Vampire Heart, right where we left off last time.

 

"Your humans? You mean you were feeding on special humans?"

"You really are obsessed with me drinking blood, aren't you? I mean my humans, they were good people they were living the best they could, they sent their children to their grand-parents out of the village to protect them from the dragons, but you don't care, you go around killing people just because they do something you don't like. You call me a monster because I take blood from human to survive which I don't even actually need, as much of a vampire as I am, but you... you... you go around killing your own kind and call yourself good and pure and elected by god to whom you deserve to talk directly because you are not common folk. I'm gonna tell you what you really are. You are trash! That's what you are with your sermon and your talk about a god that doesn't even bother eliminating people like you, trash and I'm going to kill every single one of you," I said.

My guard took few step back. Alexei started to chock on his own blood and I was still not more advance on getting my freedom back.

Very light steps entered the room and I heard the heavy door close in my back and someone trying to obstruct it.

Thursday Fiction 407: Parallel Slip 2: Rebel

Welcome back to a new Thursday Fiction, it's been a while. We continue with Parallel Slip 2: Rebel where we left of last time, following Isabelle as she figure out who she really is.

 

“I told you I didn't want to be the heir, you want to know what your problem is? You never listen to anyone unless they tell you what you want to hear. No matter what we say to you, you never listen.”

“And you listen when I tell you to get out of my room maybe?” Isabelle asked.

“That's different, at least I know what is good for me,” Malik answered. “All you have to do is what mum's been telling you to. Was it so hard not to slip for just a day? I have been off radar for months. She never catches me when I slip anymore because it's so rare. I need more time to create my own alliance. I don't want that bunch of old guys watching over my every moves. Stop being an idiot and be the heir, because in the end you are the only one who wants to. I will create my own dynasty.”

Isabelle bit in a banana piece and Malik walked out. Was it real? Was is what it was, her acting like an idiot and not listening? She had listen but whatever Malik or her mother said never matched what she felt, never match what she perceived reality to be. It was driving her insane. It was as if she couldn't rely on herself to see the truth.

Wednesday Snippet 409: Fairy World 50

Welcome back to Wednesday Snippet. This week, we continue with Fairy World unedited just where we left off last week. 

"Quiet," Kelpie whispered lowering himself to the ground. Isakael rose a hand to stick him with the pine needles but Kelpie pushed his hand away. "Damn, just open your freaking eyes, we arrived and there are guards everywhere."

 

Apostos knelled on the ground behind a bush. 

 

"We need to cut ourselves loose before going but it's still too dangerous to do it here." 

 

"I'll go distract them, then, you can get out of here and come help me later," Azazel said.

 

"That's a very good idea," Isakael said with a smirk.

 

"I'm not counting on you angel, but I know Sahel won't let me down," Azazel said. He didn't wait for an answer before flying straight up the bushes leaving the poisonous forest and the group behind. There were way too many fairies out there for a single demons. It was as if they had decided to gather the entire country around the walls of the city. 

 

"Hi, there," Azazel said landing and dusting himself. He took a deep breath of fresh air. It was nice to be finally able to breath through his nose. For the entire trip though the poisonous forest, he had only let air filtered by this Eather power enter his lungs. It was tiring but effective against the hallucinations. It reminded him of the task to accomplish during his training. It hadn't seen the point at that time but in here, it all made sense. He didn't want to have to rely on the others to keep him grounded more than necessary. If he ended up here alone, he needed to be able to take care of himself.

Tuesday Travel 205: Witch Raising: The Book of Earth 52

Welcome to Tuesday Travel. This week we are following Brownie on her journey as she is going toward the second element: Earth.

 

 

About Witch Raising.

Witch Raising is a new series with Brownie, the heroine of Demon Soul as the main character. This series is part of the House at the Crossing Series and follows Demon Soul and Demon and Fairy but instead of being centered on the adventure of Sahel and his demon friends, it follows Brownie as she goes from being a normal girl to a bad ass witch. She has been practicing magick for a while now, saving people from difficult situations but the people at the house, including Sahel aren't happy with her new calling. Feeling that she doesn't have a choice and has to keep learning witchcraft, Brownie leaves to meet other witches.

The excerpt starts right where we left off last week.

“Yes, sure,” Brownie said.

She picked her fork back without looking at anyone.

“So you can take her for a tour of a conference later on,” Henry said. “That's brilliant.”

“I didn't know you were interested in that stuff,” Daphy said.

“Of course I am, rocks are fascinating,” Brownie said smiling brightly at Daphy.

She had nailed her, if she couldn't get rid of her, she was going to make sure that she attend every single boring talks about whatever minerals the professors in the train were going to talk about. There was no escaping it. Daphy must have used a spell on at least some of the people in the restaurant wagon to get to the food and Brownie wasn't going to let her get away with it. She couldn't stop that kind of magic, her magic took time but for sure she wasn't going to be caught in the cross fire.
