Vampire Friday: Vampire Heart 394

Welcome to a new part of Vampire Heart unedited. Have you been bitten yet? 

Summary of the previous episodes: Viorel has been tortured by his supposed family who wanted to have him burn in the sun. Strangely enough the sun didn't burn him as expected but Viorel has no memory of who he is. Following the advises of his supposed father, he left Sighișoara and is now traveling to the West. After some skirmish in a previous city, he found refuge on a boat. Viorel is now in Vienna. The little problem is that the guy at the inn was a bit of an asshole and helped capture Viorel thinking he was a vampire, which he is but nobody needs to know. Now there is a huge man (which I call the colossi) taking care of Viorel and a priest. They brought a girl. Torture my holy water... Fail. Viorel managed to confuse everyone, now he would like to get out of here. But the girl seems pretty useless. They still managed to escape and he left the girl to the care of the boat lady before going back to have two words with his captors but his power of persuasion were failing him. The priest wanted to crack a deal but Viorel is not really up to help his enemies. He finally got some blood but he can't risk to stay in Vienna. He travel to Linz were he stays a bit to learn German.

Viorel wanted to go to Praha but redirect himself toward Augsburg instead where he wants to get a horse, except that the horses are a bit scared of his vampirism and maybe something else. Viorel is really not a horse expert. Then he comes into an altercation with couple of people, he wants some fear in his blood. The girl Viorel has found seemed to enjoy the game. Viorel prepares for the nightmares that come with a feast of blood, in a rush to leave, he cross the dukedom of Lorrain.
We introduced Sorina, three weeks after the beginning of Viorel's escape.
Viorel dreamed of Sorina and woke up not really remembering anything. Traveling to Paris, he arrives at "La cour des miracles". He is rescued by a stranger who turned out to be Nicolas Flamel, the alchemist he was looking for. Nicolas does some strange experiment without Viorel's agreement. Some people are looking for Nicolas's secrets. On the other side of Europe, Sorina awakes and Viorel's past in haunting him. Viorel discovered that he can change into a wolf but that's not the easiest thing to handle. After finding out that a younger version of Nicolas might not be acting with his best interest at heart, Viorel decides to leave for the north. He is now traveling with two people, Alexej who needed to get out of Praha and Irina who he accidentally rescued.

 

Now, let's continue with Vampire Heart, right where we left off last time.

 

"You know, that guy," I said pointing at Alexei on the other side of the room. "I observed his comportment for a long time now, he has absolutely no control over his transformation."

I was half bluffing but I needed the guard to come closer. He was sitting on his chair, sword in hand, taping the tip of it to the ground in absolute boredom but the keys were hanging at his side. I reviewed our fight in my head several times. I could take him, I would definitely break free using him. I needed to pick his curiosity and Alexej was my best bet, even though it was still dangerous to use him. The man could just decide to have a look for himself.

"He knew he was going to change so he removed his shirt, but that's about it. He is forced to travel because it's a carnage around him at each full moon and he doesn't want to be caught. He looks like a dog, even during the day, in his behavior. He is..."

"I'm not allowed to talk to you, you heard Jorge," the guard said.

He then looked away from me as if that was going to remove the temptation but I still had his ears and I knew it.

"I heard Jorge, he wants knowledge but I don't want to give mine to him, he is too arrogant, so I'll give it to you," I said.

"Why?" the man turned to me.

"I would lie if I said that I found you sympathetic but well I never discussed transformation with anyone before and you seem to know about it so I thought we could learn from each other."

He stood up and came closer, that was a good first step, I needed to keep his attention, to push the though in his head that he needed me out.

Thursday Fiction 383: Parallel Slip 2: Rebel

Welcome back to a new Thursday Fiction, it's been a while. We continue with Parallel Slip 2: Rebel where we left of last time, following Isabelle as she figure out who she really is.

That was something. She had never thought about, that because she was unique she could change something. She had never felt very unique with all the other selves she had visited, looking exactly like her. She wasn't really sure how it worked but she had an idea forming in her head. She remembered her plan, to get information about the tracker, and to get information about the imposter.

“You are unique because you come from the place where the very first universe carrying us was created. And I am unique because I am from this place and someone else created it. Some say we are just copies of our voice and that the voice is the only real version of us but I disagree because if it were true, there would have been only one person in the universe at each time and that would be sad.”

“I agree, I think you are very unique, I never met someone like you before,” Isabelle said.

Wednesday Snippet 385: Fairy World 26

Welcome back to Wednesday Snippet. This week, we continue with Fairy World unedited just where we left off last week. 

Yue turned the pills in his fingers considering his options. He could ruin the place and look for the blue pills but he might not get enough for his entire life and they might be just an illusion as the fairy queen had said. He didn't even remember how he had come across them in the first place. Where were they coming from? Who had given them to him? Why was he really taking them? Then he could take these new pills and see what would happen, like a drug junky. That's what he was, maybe even if he couldn't remember the real effect of each pills long enough.

"Can I have a glass of water?" he asked.

The white fairy queen made a sign of her head and the fairy dressed in blue walked away. It came back a minute later with a glass full of water.

"So this will help me go to the Demon World to get a soul back," Yue said taking the glass in his free hand.

Tuesday Travel 182: Witch Raising: The Book of Earth 29

Welcome to Tuesday Travel. This week we are following Brownie on her journey as she is going toward the second element: Earth.

 

About Witch Raising.

Witch Raising is a new series with Brownie, the heroine of Demon Soul as the main character. This series is part of the House at the Crossing Series and follows Demon Soul and Demon and Fairy but instead of being centered on the adventure of Sahel and his demon friends, it follows Brownie as she goes from being a normal girl to a bad ass witch. She has been practicing magick for a while now, saving people from difficult situations but the people at the house, including Sahel aren't happy with her new calling. Feeling that she doesn't have a choice and has to keep learning witchcraft, Brownie leaves to meet other witches. 

 

The excerpt, we start right where we left off last week.

“I think you'll have to pay for your ticket like everyone else,” Brownie said. “And don't include me in any more of your spell, thank you.”

“Seriously, you're going to be a pain about it,” Daphy said.

Brownie felt shaky and Daphy was sure lucky she felt that way. Brownie looked down at her.

“If you ever do any magic including me without my expressed consent, I'll threw you and your suitcase through the window,” Brownie said. “You've been warned.”

“So what do you suppose the controller is going to do when he comes here,” Daphy said.

“Hopefully, lock you in a cell or kick you out of the train.”

“Wow, you're such a bitch, cake,” Daphy said.
