Thursday Fiction 376: Parallel Slip 2: Rebel

Welcome back to a new Thursday Fiction, it's been a while. We continue with Parallel Slip 2: Rebel where we left of last time, following Isabelle as she figure out who she really is.

She felt terrible, if her mother didn't believe her, she was going to be in even bigger trouble.

“There has been interference,” her mother said, then she walked to the door.

“What kind of interference?”

“It's none of your concern.”

“But...”

She gave Isabelle a stern look. It wasn't allowed, it was forbidden to explain herself and it was forbidden to ever show her mother that she believed her to be wrong.

Her mother closed the door and walked away. Isabelle listened to her steps going away in the corridor, wondering why she was still wearing her high heels and fully dressed at this hour.

A part of her wanted to go back to Oris but a part of her wanted to never go there again. She always felt bad entering someone else's body but sharing with Clara was even worse. It was as if Clara was inside her, Isabelle felt nauseous just thinking about it. Maybe the alliance was right and maybe there were really universes where she shouldn't be going.

Wednesday Snippet 378: Fairy World 19

Welcome back to Wednesday Snippet. This week, we continue with Fairy World unedited just where we left off last week. 

 

"Then you should enhance your security, make sure angels don't invade your territory," Yue said still looking around.

The corridors were passing one after the others, stairs going up and down in non particular order, this place was like a maze.

"Did something happen?" The fairy asked.

"Ezechiel has some problems, we don't know how long he will still be in charge," Yue said.

Deborah clung at him even more.

"We were expecting it when we were sent the angel, our queen is not in a good mood but at least the angel is gone," the fairy said. "But I wouldn't worry too much about our security if I were you."

The smell was getting stronger, the air was changing into white smoke sticking Yue's eyes like needles entering his brain looking to fill it and connect the dots of his lost past. He liked this place, if he could stay here long enough he felt like he would remember, everything. He would remember the face still escaping him.

Tuesday Travel 175: Witch Raising: The Book of Earth 22

Welcome to Tuesday Travel. This week we are following Brownie on her journey as she is going toward the second element: Earth.

 

About Witch Raising.

Witch Raising is a new series with Brownie, the heroine of Demon Soul as the main character. This series is part of the House at the Crossing Series and follows Demon Soul and Demon and Fairy but instead of being centered on the adventure of Sahel and his demon friends, it follows Brownie as she goes from being a normal girl to a bad ass witch. She has been practicing magick for a while now, saving people from difficult situations but the people at the house, including Sahel aren't happy with her new calling. Feeling that she doesn't have a choice and has to keep learning witchcraft, Brownie leaves to meet other witches. 

 

The excerpt, we start right where we left off last week.

 

He was a good man, that's what she was trying to repeat to herself in her head. Everybody loved him. He was supposed to be the best catch in the village and he wanted her. She was the lucky one but she didn't fell lucky.

When she entered her nuptial bedroom or more accurately was pushed toward it forcefully by the man that was now her husband, everything was black except for the bed sheet, the floor was black, the wall was black, the bed was black.

“I have been waiting for this moment for so long, to finally possess you,” the man said.

Mystery Monday 171: Murder at the Conference 68

Hello and welcome to a new Mystery Monday.

I hope you had a great week-end. Here is a new little part of Murder at the Conference. Murder at the Conference is a stand alone sequel to Harajuku Kiss.

We start right were we left off last week:

“He can read kanjis, he'll be just fine and it's not his first time in China.”

Deep breath, deep breath, the nausea was coming too. I wanted to drink more tea but that wasn't going to help. My hands were shaking even more and Christa was now facing towards me. But she couldn't see what this conversation was doing to me. It was triggering a panic attack and if it didn't stop it was going to get worse.

“You don't even know how much you understand, it's all random.”

“Then maybe you should start on your Chinese lesson because you'll be going anyway, the plane tickets are booked and the university won't let you back out.”
