Wednesday Snippet 295: Blue Angel

Welcome to a new part of Blue Angel unedited, we start right where we left off last week.     

This is the last piece for Torsti and Odeon at the moment.

“I don't care how they died, what I care about is us staying alive long enough and be back north before winter, I hate traveling in the cold,” Torsti answered.

The passage suddenly open to a larger place, stalactites were falling from the ceiling.

“Do you hear that?” Torsti asked.

“Yes, it seems that there is an underground river,” Odeon said, “which means that there is definitely a passage to get out of here somewhere else.”

“Yes, I just hope it doesn't mean we will have to swim,” Torsti said. “The water must be freezing.”

They walked around the room, it was humid and water dripped from the stalactites.

“Here,” Odeon pointed at a narrow passage on the ground.

“No way they got through that with Lonan,” Torsti answered.

“I know but there is no other way through,” Odeon said.

“I'm getting claustrophobic,” Torsti answered passing his hammer in the hole first before heading head after it on four legs.

“The last Hunter we met said that his cave is a maze, we just have to keep going long enough to find the right place,” Odeon said.

“Sorry, I just hoped that it was going to be an easier walk through,” Torsti answered pushing his hammer in front of him, its grinding on the floor was flashing thunder balls forward enlightening the way in front of him.

Tuesday Travel 85: Witch Raising: The Book of Fire

Welcome to Tuesday Travel. Every Tuesday, I will be presenting an excerpt of Witch Raising: The Book of Fire, the book in which Brownie, the heroine of Demon Soul, is undertaking an initiatory journey.

About Witch Raising: The Book of Fire

Witch Raising is a new series with Brownie, the heroine of Demon Soul as the main character. This series is part of the House at the Crossing Series and follows Demon Soul and Demon and Fairy but instead of being centered on the adventure of Sahel and his demon friends, it follows Brownie as she goes from being a normal girl to a bad ass witch. She has been practicing magick for a while now, saving people from difficult situations but the people at the house, including Sahel aren't happy with her new calling. Feeling that she doesn't have a choice and has to keep learning witchcraft, Brownie leaves to meet other witches.

The excerpt, we start where we left off last week 

"And I still have enough croissants for the three of us before lunch," Josh said.

"Great," Brownie smiled. She should have thought of that, she could totally do with a croissant or something chocolaty just now.

"You want one," Josh proposed as if he had just read her mind.

"Thanks," Brownie said.

He really had a lot. It was all you can eat but Brownie wasn't sure if they were supposed to bring things out of the bakery to eat later.

"That guy at the bakery, he is crazy to let people come in and out as they please," Josh said. "He wasn't even here when I arrived, all there was, was a jar with a note telling me to leave the money."

"Yes, it seemed strange to me too, but I guess he is alone working and he needs to do the deliveries." Brownie said.

"He likes to bake and feed people," Samantha answered. "It's not like there is much to steal their except for the jar and some bread."

That was true but she didn't inside see Josh's bag as Brownie was seeing in right now.

"Take as many as you want," Josh said.

Brownie went for a chocolate croissant that she had hesitated on this morning.

"Can I have one too?" Samantha said.

"I'm not sure," Josh answered.

She shrugged her shoulder and he showed her the bag.

"Take your pick."

Mystery Monday 88: Harajuku Kiss

About Harajuku Kiss

At times, life can be so depressing. She is walking her usual recovery tour in Harajuku, finishing with a crepe, trying to forget that her boyfriend dumped her once again for the week-end... When the unthinkable happens... A boy stops in front of her in the street and kisses her, in the middle of the street, before running away.

Trying to discover more about him, she is dragged into a dangerous game of mystery. A biologist has been murdered and a deadly virus is on the loose. First suspect: the mysterious Harajuku's stranger.

Every word had its own meaning and place once you have gone through enough, you remembered them, once you have gone through more, the pattern was becoming yours. It was that simple. But what was so hard, was to work on it until the pattern was yours. I wasn’t going to make all Japanese patterns my own anytime soon and I knew it. I was in the phase of wanting something so badly that I couldn’t wait to get it and because it was taking so long to get it, I couldn’t find the energy to do it.

WeWriWar 342: The House at the Crossing 50

 

Hello everybody and welcome for a new Sunday of writing with Weekend Writing Warrior and Snippet Sunday!

 

How are you doing?

 

Let's continue with  "The House at the Crossing" and it's a prequel to Demon Soul and the demon series. It's a bit of a mix of Fantasy and Science-fiction.

 

It follows one of the books more obscure character as she first comes into the House. It's supposed to explain why there are so many people is the house and sort of where they come from and at the same time be a first time adventure for the main character as she needs to adapt to her new role and the new version of who she is.

Let's start right at where we left off last week, Margo is wondering if it's all a big joke.

 

I decide that I don't want to know. 

Because if she isn't: hello, vampires are real and I'm going to be roomy with fourteen other people I don't know, while having to take care of three babies who are definitely real. And if she is, then I'm the crazy one in here because I saw people appear and disappear and they all looked exactly like me and parts of the house are also flickering in and out of existence. 

So she isn't joking or maybe, just about the vampire part. 

Please, make that not be real. Please house, if you really have whatever I need make this all go away, I need peace and quite.
As if the house had decided to answer me and tell me how foolish I am for talking to it in my head, Hiroshi decides to cry and if Ryan can sleep through Malicia waking up, he isn't use to Hiroshi; so now I end up with three agitated crying babies.
I only have two hands though. I wish some of my other selves with a clue were still here to help.
