Wednesday Snippet 287: Blue Angel

Welcome to a new part of Blue Angel unedited, we start right where we left off last week.

Sahel looked at her willing to laugh and refrained when he saw the serious look on her face.
“I was told to take the kids here, everything has been prepared for their safety, there is nothing to worry about,” Sahel said.
In front of them, the kids had already started to enter the tower through the window in the second floor.
“This is not good,” Samira said.
“Are you worried for the little Nephilim brats?” Sahel asked.
“Absolutely not,” Samira answered flying faster to reach the tower.
“Absolutely not, I could bet on that,” he said to himself following her.
It was just as expected, the teacher had prepared food and blankets and some females Nephilim were already there to greet the little one.
Samira landed in the room and put her back to the wall next to the window looking at them. They were families, she wondered where were her parents. They hadn't been much around since they left to the Nephilim sanctuary, going out early morning coming back wrecked late at night after trying all day to make some alliance to get their way back to the bright side of town. It all seemed useless to her. As long as there were Hunters and Seti out there, there was no way for her to ever see the light again, except maybe by marrying Taram but the more it went, the more it seemed unlikely.
“See, I told you, nothing to worry about,” Sahel said landing next to her.
“Maybe,” she answered only half convinced.
“Do you need anything else?” Sahel asked.
“Thank you for bringing them here all safe,” a demon female said standing up holding a little boy in her arms while a second one clung at her leg.
She had that look that said, it's not the first time and it won't be the last but we are still alive. Samira wished she too could have that look but she really didn't feel like it. She wanted to complain and to hate the entire world.
“My pleasure,” Sahel said, “if you don't need anything, I better get going.”
He turned around to Samira.
“Let's go,” he said.
The dark shadow stepped in front of him.
“Carry me, I'm tired!”
Sahel laughed and open the medallion for his shadow to jump in.
“Thanks,” he said.
The dark shadow seemed to pull his tongue out before disappearing.
“Where are we going?” Samira asked.
“That's a surprise,” Sahel said winking at her.
“I don't like surprises,” Samira said.

Tuesday Travel 77: Witch Raising: The Book of Fire

Welcome to Tuesday Travel. Every Tuesday, I will be presenting an excerpt of Witch Raising: The Book of Fire, the book in which Brownie, the heroine of Demon Soul, is undertaking an initiatory journey.

About Witch Raising: The Book of Fire

But she couldn't fly a broom because she wasn't that type of witch.
"I have no idea what you are talking about."
"You and Samantha going to the mountain and the cave, I mean that girl is definitely a witch," Josh said.
That was interesting, Brownie for a moment had thought that Josh had piereced her secret. He came to sit next to her with a plate filled so high up that Brownie didn't know how he had managed to get it balanced while he walked to the table and how he intended to fill his stomach with all that without bursting it.
"I don't know about that, what makes her a witch?" Brownie asked.
"Well first the way she dresses, I mean she is not emo technically but she is dressing all in black with that weird lipstick and she even has a crimson bag, only witches have crimson bags," Josh said.
"Or vampire," Brownie answered.
"No, she walked in daylight," Josh said.
"How do you know?"
It was dark enough when they arrived last night so they hadn't seen Samantha walk in sunlight.
"Well, today's plan is to go out during the day so yeah, she can't be a vampire," Josh said.
There were vampire who walked in sunlight but Brownie wasn't going to share that information with Josh.
"And last night when we came back, she drew a circle in the air and she through salt on the ground around her bed and lit up some candles."
"Her bed is in the corner of the room, she can't possibly have drawn a circle around it," Brownie said.
"I know that's the strange thing, it sort of did look like a circle and she forbid anyone to enter it then she sat in the middle like she was meditating but her eyes were open and they turned all black and then the candles blew out," Josh said.
"And then what?"
"And then nothing," Josh said.
"Nothing, like what?" Brownie asked.
"She stood up with a tooth brush and tooth paste and went to the bathroom to brush her teeth I guess."
"And you checked her circle?"
"No, Marri and Sandy were too freak out. Marri even went as far as forcing me to change bed with her because hers was directly next to Samantha's."
"Oh," Brownie said.
She wonder if the ritual Samantha performed had any other reason than freaking out the others and making sure they wouldn't touch her stuff.

Mystery Monday 81: Harajuku Kiss

Welcome Mystery Monday. For this weekly writing blog post, I will be presenting snippets of my novel Harajuku Kiss, a mystery romance in Japan.
I hope you'll enjoy following our heroine through her thoughts and adventures.

About Harajuku Kiss

At times, life can be so depressing. She is walking her usual recovery tour in Harajuku, finishing with a crepe, trying to forget that her boyfriend dumped her once again for the week-end... When the unthinkable happens... A boy stops in front of her in the street and kisses her, in the middle of the street, before running away.
Trying to discover more about him, she is dragged into a dangerous game of mystery. A biologist has been murdered and a deadly virus is on the loose. First suspect: the mysterious Harajuku's stranger.

Here is the snippet for this week (Check out the previous snippet here)

I took a sip of my tea wondering where Seiji was. I liked the smell of tea. The smell of coffee in the morning truly makes me want to vomit. I guess it's because one of my teachers in high school who I unfortunately always had during the first period was a coffee addict. It was the only teacher who would always drink during class. I mean, I had teachers having a bottle of water, especially during summer or when they needed to talk on and on and on about something, but that guy was something different. His teeth were yellow because of coffee, and he smelled like coffee. You know in the same way people’s clothes keep the smell of cigarette even after washing, well this guy probably bathed in coffee all day in the same way. As far as I could remember, I had never seen him without a cup.

WeWriWar 338: The House at the Crossing 44

Hello everybody and welcome for a new Sunday of writing with Weekend Writing Warrior and Snippet Sunday!

How are you doing?
We are back on high alert here is Japan so I'm locked up at home in self confinement which gives me time for a lot of reading.

Let's continue with  "The House at the Crossing" and it's a prequel to Demon Soul and the demon series. It's a bit of a mix of Fantasy and Science-fiction.

It follows one of the books more obscure character as she first comes into the House. It's supposed to explain why there are so many people is the house and sort of where they come from and at the same time be a first time adventure for the main character as she needs to adapt to her new role and the new version of who she is.

Let's start right at where we left off last week !

“Of course not, this place is a sanctuary, there are a lot of others.”
“Your other selves?” I ask.
Mine stayed in the kitchen. I don't know what she is doing but I kind of like being the only me in the room. Never take simple things like that for granted.
“I'm only one, like you'll soon be,” Teresa said. “You'll see at dinner, I insist that we all spend the meals together at least. Except for the vampire. Viorel has his own, diet of course.”
“Vampire, you're joking,” I say.

Do you guys think Teresa is joking too? Let me know in the comments below.
