Thursday Fiction 270: Parallel Slip

Welcome back to a new part of Parallel Slip, where we follow the adventures of Frederique through her slip in different parallel universes.

Let's start right where we left off last week.

"Wait if, the universe collapse when I get there, it means it has to be the same and that I will find the hidden thing, or my other self might also hid it in another universe for some reason. It's only 50 percent chance, hide it or not hide it," I said.
Alex scratched his head as if he was thinking hard and flipped the fishes which were getting slightly over cooked in the pan.
"The other thing is," I said taking the water out of the pasta. "The girls in the spaceships. The pilots, they can recognize me. They know when I take over Michelle's body."
"Sounds interesting!"
One of the neighbor was at the door. The history student who always moved around here in his sweet pants no matter the time of the day.
"Hi billy," Alex said, "what's up?"
"Who is Michelle?"
"A girl from a new animation series I'm watching, you wanna join? We'll be watching while eating," Alex said.
I thought my heart was going to stop. I had no intention on watching any animation tonight especially not with Billy around.
"I don't do junk, no time, tones of books to read, you science students got it easy with you little exercise sheets," Billy said.
He opened his fridge and pulled out half a pizza on a card board and put it in the microwave.
"Yeah, you guys can't ever relax," Alex said wicking at me.
I shared the pasta on the plates and Alex added the fish sticks.

Wednesday Snippet 272: Blue Angel

Welcome to a new part of Blue Angel unedited, we start right where we left off last time.

He put his hand on the cold metal handle of the second door and turned it. The door move slowly, it was unexpectedly a lot heavier than the fist one. The inside of it was covered with a sort of blanket as if someone had been trying to control the noise going out of the office. The room was in contrast clear compare to the entrance, there were two large windows behind the desk,  leading to the cloud garden.
Isakael looked left and right, the room was empty. He had another sigh of relieve. He walked to the window, he wanted to close the curtains to make sure that nobody would see him from the outside but suddenly stopped himself. He needed to make sure that nobody would notice that someone was in, everything needed to be exactly the same when he would leave than when he had entered.
There was no one in the garden. It was filled with white flowers which had lost their petals on the floor and on the pond as if it was snow. A chill passed through Isakael's back, he didn't have time to admire the view which was reserved for higher rank angel he needed to find something and to get out of here and home as soon as possible.
He turned to the desk, it was all clear, there was no paper, no notes of any kind. He wondered if someone was actually using it. There was a blue set in the center to protect the expensive wooden furniture from unexpected pen marks. There was a small case on the right side. Isakael opened it without moving it. It only contained an old fancy fountain pen and two ink supplies. Isakael wondered who still wrote with that kind of thing. He had never expected Ezechiel to be that kind of old fashioned person. One the left there was a bible, King James edition, bound with red tainted leather with gold letters. Isakael opened it, hoping to find some annotation to give him a clue but there was nothing. Ezechiel was a very careful man, this version didn't seemed to have been read and Isakael wonder why it was even in English, that was very strange.

Welcome to Tuesday Travel. Every Tuesday, I will be presenting an excerpt of Witch Raising: The Book of Fire, the book in which Brownie, the heroine of Demon Soul, is undertaking an initiatory journey.

About Witch Raising: The Book of Fire

Witch Raising is a new series with Brownie, the heroine of Demon Soul as the main character. This series is part of the House at the Crossing Series and follows Demon Soul and Demon and Fairy but instead of being centered on the adventure of Sahel and his demon friends, it follows Brownie as she goes from being a normal girl to a bad ass witch. She has been practicing magick for a while now, saving people from difficult situations but the people at the house, including Sahel aren't happy with her new calling. Feeling that she doesn't have a choice and has to keep learning witchcraft, Brownie leaves to meet other witches.

The excerpt, we start where we left off last week

Brownie wasn't really sure she wanted to try a fire stew, she would do with the stew but the fire, she wasn't sure.
"Why is everything about fire in here?" She asked.
"Because the Lions are the protectors of the fire that warm the earth and keep it alive." A voice said behind her. It was the girl form Josh's dormitory room. Brownie recognized her by the blue strand of her she had notice earlier rising above her book.
"Oh, so it's some mythological story?" Brownie said.
"Yes, and no, the lions are real, some still appear around here from time to time, especially in time of trouble rising from the underworld."
"Yeah right," Josh said. "Because trouble rise from the ground here so often, it's not even a seismic area."
"I'm not talking about volcanic activity, this place is the flattest part in the country, no, I'm talking about creatures from the underworld, demons, beast," the girl with the blue strand of hair said.
"So it's a myth," Sandy answered.
"There is a cave, not so far away where the creature are rising from. And they held the festival each year for the lions to protect them against the demons with their fire," the girl said.
"So the lions breathe fire?" Brownie asked.
"No, they are fire, they can transform themselves into creature of fire as if their skin and bones and blood were made of pure burning oxygen only," the girl said.
"And they are going to appear during the festival?" Brownie ask.
"Not the real one but representation of them," the girl said.
"Because there is no real one," Josh answered. "It's a myth, nothing can change into fire and still be alive."

Mystery Monday 64: Harajuku Kiss

Welcome Mystery Monday. For this weekly writing blog post, I will be presenting snippets of my novel Harajuku Kiss, a mystery romance in Japan.
I hope you'll enjoy following our heroine through her thoughts and adventures.

About Harajuku Kiss

At times, life can be so depressing. She is walking her usual recovery tour in Harajuku, finishing with a crepe, trying to forget that her boyfriend dumped her once again for the week-end... When the unthinkable happens... A boy stops in front of her in the street and kisses her, in the middle of the street, before running away.
Trying to discover more about him, she is dragged into a dangerous game of mystery. A biologist has been murdered and a deadly virus is on the loose. First suspect: the mysterious Harajuku's stranger.

Here is the snippet for this week

I felt better in the morning, I took a shower and dressed up without even eating breakfast. I wanted to get rid of the memory stick as fast as I could, to forget about this Seiji guy whoever he was, to forget about the guy from Harajuku, to go back to the troubled life I already had before I met him.
But when something this huge happens to you, like a kiss from a complete stranger in the middle of the street, there is no way to get rid of it so easily, even when you really try.
