WeWriWar 310: The House at the Crossing 15

Hello everybody and welcome for a new Sunday of writing with Weekend Writing Warrior and Snippet Sunday!

I decided to change things a little bit so for the next few months, I'm going to present you my new WIP. It's called "The House at the Crossing" and it's a prequel to Demon Soul and the demon series. It's a bit of a mix of Fantasy and Science-fiction.
It follows one of the books more obscure character as she first come into the House. It's suppose to explain why there are so many people is the house and sort of where they come from and at the same time be a first time adventure for the main character as she needs to adapt to her new role and the new version of who she is.

Since it's a WIP, and I still haven't finished the first draft, it's still really row. Hopefully, we'll see some improvement as it goes.

Let's start right at where we left off last week!

I have no memory of Teresa so how could I know her phone number, how could I know, wait...
I'm not sure anymore but there is a paper in Hiroshi's crib, at his feet. I let the crib on my chair and pick up the letter. It's the same cream color paper as the one the other me with the short hair has in her hand. Except, I never saw it before. Something is clearly going on, I'm going crazy.
That's what he said so many time after I gave birth, I'm crazy, I'm not fit to be a mother, I can't even take care of myself, how could I ever...
Wait, he never said that, he just took off with Malicia, no, Mikala, my daughter's name is Mikala. But then who is Malicia.

Vampire Friday: Vampire Heart 253

Welcome to a new part of Vampire Heart unedited. Have you been bitten yet? Sign up to be part of our awesome Vampire Friday blog hop team! You know you want to!

Summary of the previous episodes: Viorel has been tortured by his supposed family who wanted to have him burn in the sun. Strangely enough the sun didn't burn him as expected but Viorel has no memory of who he is. Following the advises of his supposed father, he left Sighișoara and is now traveling to the West. After some skirmish in a previous city, he found refuge on a boat. Viorel is now in Vienna. The little problem is that the guy at the inn was a bit of an asshole and helped capture Viorel thinking he was a vampire, which he is but nobody needs to know. Now there is a huge man (which I call the colossi) taking care of Viorel and a priest. They brought a girl. Torture my holy water... Fail. Viorel managed to confuse everyone, now he would like to get out of here. But the girl seems pretty useless. They still managed to escape and he left the girl to the care of the boat lady before going back to have two words with his captors but his power of persuasion were failing him. The priest wanted to crack a deal but Viorel is not really up to help his enemies. He finally got some blood but he can't risk to stay in Vienna. He travel to Linz were he stays a bit to learn German.
Viorel wanted to go to Praha but redirect himself toward Augsburg instead where he wants to get a horse, except that the horses are a bit scared of his vampirism and maybe something else. Viorel is really not a horse expert. Then he comes into an altercation with couple of people, he wants some fear in his blood. The girl Viorel has found seemed to enjoy the game. Viorel prepares for the nightmares that come with a feast of blood, in a rush to leave, he cross the dukedom of Lorrain.
We introduced Sorina, three weeks after the beginning of Viorel's escape.
Viorel dreamed of Sorina and woke up not really remembering anything. Traveling to Paris, he arrives at "La cour des miracles". He is rescued by a stranger who turned out to be Nicolas Flamel, the alchemist he was looking for. Nicolas does some strange experiment without Viorel's agreement. Some people are looking for Nicolas's secrets. On the other side of Europe, Sorina awakes and Viorel's past in haunting him. Viorel discovered that he can change into a wolf but that's not the easiest thing to handle. After finding out that a younger version of Nicolas might not be acting with his best interest at heart, Viorel decides to leave for the north. He is now traveling with two people, Alexej who needed to get out of Praha and Irina who he accidentally rescued.

Now, let's continue with Vampire Heart, right where we left off last week

“There is nothing you need to be afraid of, I’ll take care of you,” I answered.
“You know that’s not true, you know that you need to go back to the castle before sunrise because they don’t trust the wolf part of you, because they would kill you if they knew that you can transform like your mother does, they believed that you would raise against them,” she said.
“Maybe I should,” I answered quickly. I didn’t want to talk about that with her. We had talked about it so many times and I still didn’t understand the wolf part of me so well. I had leaved this way for two hundred and fifty years, being a wolf during the day when they were not looking at me and being a vampire during the night. But there was something missing from my wolf part and that was my family, the family with strong bound which I could sense all around me when I was running in the forest but never dared to approach me.
“You can’t talk like this, we can’t run away from them, there is no way to hide, they would discover our tracks and get us on the night after we left, even if we were to leave during the night, they always know when one of the villagers is missing. My father allowed us to go hide last night because your family was gone, but if we hide again tonight or the night after that they would take it as a rebellion against their power and they would chase us, drink from us and I would be locked in the castle forever unable to see the sun ever again,” she said.
I knew she was right but there was still a part of me, maybe the wolf part of me or maybe the part of me that was in love with her that wanted to deny it, that wanted to believe that we could run away together, away from the village, away from her parents, away from the vampires of my clan and away from the madness of the newly come British threat.
“Maybe I could ask the other side of my family for help,” I said.
“Your mother said that they will never come close to you because it would make you and the tribe in danger,” Sorina said sighting.
“But I’m already in danger now,” I answered.
She looked straight in my eyes and stroke my cheek gently.
“You are putting yourself in danger for me and there is nothing I can do about it but a family you don’t even know won’t do that for you.”

Thursday Fiction 247: Parallel Slip

Welcome back to a new part of Parallel Slip, where we follow the adventures of Frederique through her slip in different parallel universes.

Let's start right where we left off last week.

"What was it about you taking salsa classes anyway?"
"I like dancing I supposed, I never could before."
Dad gave me the envelop with my brain scan.
"Take good care of my daughter and call me again if there is anything," he said to Alex.
"I will," Alex answered shaking hand with him.
I couldn't wait to get out of here. There were too many people around me and if I was to black out in front of them again for any reason I knew they would keep me here for a week and try this new drug and I couldn't afford not to black out now that I could go back to the spaceship. I couldn't afford to lose it again, it was way too important. That's why I decided that I was going to tell Alex everything. I wasn't really sure where to start but I needed him to understand that I needed my black out and I didn't need anyone freaking out, no matter how scary it looked, even if I was to pass out for days. The thing was if I ever really fell into coma I knew I would be ok waking up. But I had the feeling that everyone would take it as a personal failure, especially Alex, which made no sense whatsoever because fainting was a part of me that nobody could take care of, not even me and people weren't trained to know how to react to it. I could still read it on his face and on my father's that sort of guilt saying she fainted and I couldn't deal with it because I'm an idiot.

Wednesday Snippet 249: Blue Angel

Welcome to a new part of Blue Angel unedited, we start right where we left off last time.

“What did you exactly do to him?” Kamaril asked notting not to let Lonan ever breath anywhere near his face.
“I just redecorating him from inside, you know making him think stuff he doesn't know about,” Lonan said.
Grey matter started leaking from the ears, eyes and nose of the guy. Kamaril swallowed hard. Lonan was definitely scary, maybe he should have drown him already while he had the chance.
“Let's go,” he said.
Lonan kicked the demon on the floor one last time, but it had no real effect, before following Kamaril.
“So what is it that you are looking for here?” He asked.
“Something that belongs to me but that I seemed to have lost a long time ago,” Kamaril said.
* * *
“So are you going to get stronger powers with the trance,” Seti asked.
“Of course no, it's about control, not about getting stronger,” Azazel answered. “You have the power that you have, you don't get stronger.”
“But we all saw Sahel become stronger, every time he fights he becomes stronger and it's the same for you,” Seti said, “and me.”
He was almost sure that he had been getting weaker since he couldn't feel the Chaos inside of him trying to control him anymore but he wasn't going to admit it in front of Azazel.
“We are not getting stronger really,” Sahel said. “It's just like learning to read or to fly, the more you do it the better you get at it but my fire has a limit, if I get beyond that, I'll burn myself and the trance my help me remembering where the limit is.”
“Yes, it's all about controle, your powers are you're powers, only training at using them makes you stronger or if you get into an impossible situation that forcing you to do something crazy like it happened to me for my first earthquake,” Azazel said.
“I'm not too sure about that,” Evalynn answered.
