Wednesday Snippet 199: Blue Angel

Welcome to a new part of Blue Angel unedited, we start right where we left off last time.

“No, that's impossible,” the angel on his left answered without even taking his eyes out of his plate.
“Impossible,” Isakael muttered lowly.
In front of him two angels were watching him, they lowered their head when he raised his.
“Maybe the devil,” someone ventured quickly.
Isakael didn't notice where the voice was coming from.
“The devil,” he thought eating more as if he wanted to show them that the conversation was over. “The devil.” But who was the devil? An angel, just like him, who had been favored by God at first before being banished and changed into a demon. Demon had gain powers that angels never had but how much power could the devil had. Especially in this place where God was present in every corner, where anything evil would be detected in seconds and banished in less. No demons had ever cross to heaven, of that, Isakael was sure. But that voice, so dark and scary couldn't possibly be God or if it was, what did God want from him?
“Awake, awake to your own power, this is nothing compare to who you really are!”
How did the devil get his power, even if he was no match for god, how did he get them and how did he gave them to the demons. Isakael had seen what Sahel could do, even as a baby. The demons could use fire, water, air, earth, all natural things and control them and transform them into strenght. They could cure anyone without even having to feel the pain in return. Where did that power come from and why was it so different from what he had?

Vampire Friday: Vampire Heart 201

Welcome to a new part of Vampire Heart unedited. Have you been bitten yet?Sign up to be part of our awesome Vampire Friday blog hop team! You know you want to!

Summary of the previous episodes: Viorel has been tortured by his supposed family who wanted to have him burn in the sun. Strangely enough the sun didn't burn him as expected but Viorel has no memory of who he is. Following the advises of his supposed father, he left Sighișoara and is now traveling to the West. After some skirmish in a previous city, he found refuge on a boat. Viorel is now in Vienna. The little problem is that the guy at the inn was a bit of an asshole and helped capture Viorel thinking he was a vampire, which he is but nobody needs to know. Now there is a huge man (which I call the colossi) taking care of Viorel and a priest. They brought a girl. Torture my holy water... Fail. Viorel managed to confuse everyone, now he would like to get out of here. But the girl seems pretty useless. They still managed to escape and he left the girl to the care of the boat lady before going back to have two words with his captors but his power of persuasion were failing him. The priest wanted to crack a deal but Viorel is not really up to help his enemies. He finally got some blood but he can't risk to stay in Vienna. He travel to Linz were he stays a bit to learn German.
Viorel wanted to go to Praha but redirect himself toward Augsburg instead where he wants to get a horse, except that the horses are a bit scared of his vampirism and maybe something else. Viorel is really not a horse expert. Then he comes into an altercation with couple of people, he wants some fear in his blood. The girl Viorel has found seemed to enjoy the game. Viorel prepares for the nightmares that come with a feast of blood, in a rush to leave, he cross the dukedom of Lorrain.
We introduced Sorina, three weeks after the beginning of Viorel's escape.
Viorel dreamed of Sorina and woke up not really remembering anything. Traveling to Paris, he arrives at "La cour des miracles". He is rescued by a stranger who turned out to be Nicolas Flamel, the alchemist he was looking for. Nicolas does some strange experiment without Viorel's agreement. Some people are looking for Nicolas's secrets. On the other side of Europe, Sorina awakes and Viorel's past in haunting him. Viorel discovered that he can change into a wolf but that's not the easiest thing to handle.

Now, let's continue with Vampire Heart, right where we left of last week

I want to let it run but it would get killed if it goes out of this room, there are a lot of people outside who would be happy for a bit of meat so easy to catch, and my stepfather didn’t want it here.”
You won’t have that problem anymore,” I said.
I opened her drawer and pull out some dresses. They were all really thin and not usable for winter, especially where we were going but they would have to do for a while. I found a light blue scarf with embroided flowers it had a different smell than the other clothes.
Don’t touch it,” She said quickly standing up letting the cat fall on the bed and the milk scattered on the floor.
She didn’t take few steps that she was also on her knees. Her bloodless body had reached it’s limit.
Don’t touch it,” she repeated with a weak voice.
I gave her the scarf and she held it against her chest with her trembling hand as the little cat meowed on the bed.
It was your mother,” I said. I already knew the answer. Every human has a very different odor, so I knew the scarf was definitely not hers. It was also a lot more expensive than the rest of her wardrobe and the perfume coming from it was a lot more refined that the one she was wearing. I was getting curious like I had been with the lady the night before about her daughter. Human men didn’t interest me much but the interaction between woman and their child interested me a lot. Probably because I was sure Sorina would have wanted a baby when growing up but I was still not sure if I could have given one to her. The woman body was different, it could carry life and the bound the woman created with their child was really strong.
Yes, she will come back to get it,” the girl said.
When did she leave?” I asked.
The girl looked up at me. She was probably not used to the question.

Let's start right where we left off last week.

Alex finally hang up the phone.
"They are mad cause you hanged up on them so they won't be calling you back, you'll have to do it."
"I won't," Amy said.
"I know, and that's cool with me. We just have too see how long they can keep that up," Alex said. "I still can't believe you hanged up on them."
"There is no way I can have a conversation with them, they never let me talk. They just yelled on how selfish and immature and stubborn I was and how they always gave me everything and made sure I could have a decent education and that I had to ruin it. I'm not ruining anything. I will graduate, just I wanted something more. Is it so bad?"
Amy had tears in her hard again. Alex came over and hugged her.
"It's not bad. And I'm sorry I didn't ask earlier, so what are you going to study?"
Amy looked up at him and swallowed.
"Astrobiology," she said with a light smile.
Alex started to laugh.
"That's different, I should have expected that marine biology would never do for you, way too wet."
"Hey," Amy protested.
"Did you know it took her forever to learn to swim because she didn't like the feeling of the water on her skin?"

Wednesday Snippet 198: Blue Angel

Welcome to a new part of Blue Angel unedited, we start right where we left off last time.

The sun was already gone. Isakael had hoped to see it and feel its warm but once again he was covered with darkness and cold on the outside. They all headed for the banquet. He wasn't really in the mood to eat anything but he was still hungry. The food was one of the best thing in this place but it was also very dangerous. The red wine flowing everywhere around the room could easily take him back to the trance just by breathing, even if he didn't intend to drink a single drop of it. They entered the room in religious order and one by one washed their hands before sitting at the tables. It was the same order as they had obeyed in the church filling the sits without discrimination of neighbor. Isakael just prayed that people wouldn't talk to him much. He had to stay with them for two to three hours and was already feeling exhausted. But there was no problem there. Nobody said a word during the entire meal. It seemed amazing for Isakael that people would refrain to talk. At home, there was never so much peace and quite during a meal. It was a time of gathering, when everyone would talk about their day, people would chat without restrain and laugh. He looked at the last scene painting hanging in front of him. Around the christ, people had been chatting and playing too, he wonder why the angels were making it so different and what was the meaning behind it. He noticed that several of the people sitting around him didn't touch their glass of wine either. It was a bad sign, a sign of crisis, the angels couldn't enjoy themselves anymore. He almost regretted not to have taken the information the other wanted to give him the day before. This was way too much to take, the silence was so deep that he could hear people's fork in their plate and the movement of their jaws as they chew. He thought about that voice in his head, about the power.
“Can anyone else than God talk to you when you reach the trance?” He asked. The words had come out before him wanting them too, he was asking this question to himself and had never intended to spit it out aloud.
