Welcome to a new excerpt of DEMON SOUL for the Weekend Writing Warrior and Snippet Sunday.

Pre-Plot:
Brownie is a normal girl, or so she thinks. She likes to chat with her sisters about random things, she likes fashion and she is member of the fashion club at school. But one day, as her little brother gets really sick because of a curse placed on him, she meets this really strange guy who cures him absorbing the baby's sickness within himself. As he is about to fall from his new acquired fever, Brownie sees Yue's soul and immediately falls in love with him. But Yue is not a human, Yue is a demon.
Brownie and Yue will built their love story until....

Plot:
Until Yue's soul is stolen. There is nothing left of their love. The purple light dancing in Yue's grey eyes is gone. Forever? Not quite. Brownie is desperate to find it back. And to get a soul stolen by demons, she needs to go deep into dark magic! But Brownie is not a witch, she is just looking for a spell powerful enough to bring her love back. When an amateur starts playing with strong magic without preparation and without caring for the consequences, things turn wrong...

Let's start right where we left off

"Yobi, Yobi, can you come here?” She called.
A red-haired little boy, smiling evilly, with fox ears on the top of his head and nine tails moving happily on his back walked out of the living room.

Yobi was also very special. He had been rescued from a farm where he was held prisoner after trying to hunt chickens. He was a four hundred years old nine-tailed fox but for a fox being four hundred years old was a very young age. The farmers had no idea what to do with him because sometimes he looked like a fox, sometimes like a little boy. He had been driving them crazy for months when he was brought here. Now, his most delightful activity was to pull pranks on everybody with his magical powers.

Vampire Friday: Vampire Heart 158

Welcome to a new part of Vampire Heart unedited. Have you been bitten yet?Sign up to be part of our awesome Vampire Friday blog hop team! You know you want to!

Summary of the previous episodes: Viorel has been tortured by his supposed family who wanted to have him burn in the sun. Strangely enough the sun didn't burn him as expected but Viorel has no memory of who he is. Following the advises of his supposed father, he left Sighișoara and is now traveling to the West. After some skirmish in a previous city, he found refuge on a boat. Viorel is now in Vienna. The little problem is that the guy at the inn was a bit of an asshole and helped capture Viorel thinking he was a vampire, which he is but nobody needs to know. Now there is a huge man (which I call the colossi) taking care of Viorel and a priest. They brought a girl. Torture my holy water... Fail. Viorel managed to confuse everyone, now he would like to get out of here. But the girl seems pretty useless. They still managed to escape and he left the girl to the care of the boat lady before going back to have two words with his captors but his power of persuasion were failing him. The priest wanted to crack a deal but Viorel is not really up to help his enemies. He finally got some blood but he can't risk to stay in Vienna. He travel to Linz were he stays a bit to learn German.
Viorel wanted to go to Praha but redirect himself toward Augsburg instead where he wants to get a horse, except that the horses are a bit scared of his vampirism and maybe something else. Viorel is really not a horse expert. Then he comes into an altercation with couple of people, he wants some fear in his blood. The girl Viorel has found seemed to enjoy the game. Viorel prepares for the nightmares that come with a feast of blood, in a rush to leave, he cross the dukedom of Lorrain.
We introduced Sorina, three weeks after the beginning of Viorel's escape.
Viorel dreamed of Sorina and woke up not really remembering anything. Traveling to Paris, he arrives at "La cour des miracles". He is rescued by a stranger who turned out to be Nicolas Flamel, the alchemist he was looking for. Nicolas does some strange experiment without Viorel's agreement. Some people are looking for Nicolas's secrets. On the other side of Europe, Sorina awakes and Viorel's past in haunting him. Viorel discovered that he can change into a wolf but that's not the easiest thing to handle.

Now, let's continue with Vampire Heart, right where we left of last week.

I put a new bandage, tomorrow there would be nothing left. I was going to make sure of it by drinking a lot tonight again. I needed to go on with my discovery of myself and for that I needed blood. If Nicolas was going against it again I had resolved to stay at an inn on the other side of the river to make sure that I wouldn’t cross his pay again. Nicolas had said it would take me three years to learn alchemy, that’s what it took for an apprentice, I had read all his books, memorized them, I did the research with him, observed him to the point that I could also do everything by myself. I knew the elements of this world, everything composing matter. I knew how to mix them to transform them. I had been working with Nicolas for more than four years now. It was enough I wanted to move on. I felt an urge that I had never felt before. I passed some more water on my face and breathe again to calm myself down. I sat at the desk to write down as much details as possible about my dreams as I could. The part with my mother and my uncle beating me because of the wolf was starting to evaporate from my mind. The one with Sorina was way too present for me to forget. She must have been so scared and I couldn’t even say anything reassuring. I was hating myself for the last moment I had with her without even knowing it was her. The tears of her had been haunting me when I left the castle but I was too bothered about my own safety to care to go get her. I threw the notebook across the room in rage and took my head in my hands. I couldn’t think straight my head was fussy with all the event of the preceding nights. I needed to rest but I was scared of the nightmare while still carving for them. I must have been noisy because Perenelle came few moments later, she was holding a tray with a bowl of hot chocolate and baguette with butter. It was too late for breakfast. I didn’t feel like eating human food at all but I couldn’t help thinking that I had been unfair with her. She hadn’t changed as much as Nicolas had and had I been a woman with a guy like me in the house, coming from a far away land and murdering people from time to time, I would have also been scared. Especially with all the argument I had been having with Nicolas.
“I’m sorry,” I said taking the tray from her to leave it on the table and walking to the wall to get my notebook.

Thursday Fiction 152: Parallel Slip

Welcome back to a new part of Parallel Slip, where we follow the adventures of Frederique through her slip in different parallel universes.

Let's start right where we left off last week.

"How did you decide that you like astrobiology?" I asked.
I needed Amy to continue talking because she was helping me keeping the panic away. I couldn't imagine my life without blacking out. I didn't need anything without my black out they were the reason why I was here, the reason why I was who I was, where I was. Somehow, I realized that I totally sucked as a scientist. I had already decided what the black out were and how they worked and what they showed me without any prove. Everything was just based on a believe that I traveled. It was overwhelming. I was trying to build a theory to give me the result I wanted which was that I was special and traveling to other world. The more rational explanation would be that my mind was taking everything around me and transforming it during my black out. I needed to verify it, I needed to know I wasn't delusional.
"People make fun of everyone looking for aliens, always. They thing you have to be crazy to believe in aliens because there is no prove, because nobody ever saw any and because all the alien kidnapping story sounds like they have been created by total loonies. I mean why would anyone be kidnapped by invisible alien to be studied and they taken back when they can just keep us. And if they actually keep all the people on the list of missing people? I don't know there are one hundred more rational explanations than aliens with powerful technology coming to get them. But on a totally different level, why not? If you look at the universe, it's huge, and if you look at the different life forms on his planet, it's huge too. Like so many of them, little insect and dinosaurs and bacteria and plants and birds and fishes and us. There is such a huge possibilities to life form and so much space to get it to work. I want to know. I want to know if there is a possibility that somewhere else there is something alive and because if there is God will become obsolete and we will finally have world peace," Amy said.
