WeWriWar 188: Rainbow catcher

Welcome to a new excerpt of Rainbow Catcher for the Weekend Writing Warrior and Snippet Sunday

Now let's go back to our story.

Summary of previous episodes: Clarissa is coughing and wanted to watch Everett Cooper on TV but Jason refused, she is due to get her rainbow the next day but she seems scared, to make her feel better Jason leave the TV on. Clarissa tried to explain about rainbows, she is a big fan of Everett Cooper but Jason is not too sure about it. Clarissa complained about her dialophone but Jason needs to go to work. Before completely leaving he is thinking about getting her her rainbow. We flashed back to the meeting Jason had with a rainbow seller at the black market. Jason left Clarissa's room to go to work. Jason was talking to his boss about the rainbow coming the next day. Jason prepared the money for the rainbow in a sport bag and went to the hospital. The rainbow seller arrived for the delivery. But it was a scam and Jason prepares to go get the rainbow himself in the desert. Markus has a last surprise for him.
We start just where we left off last week.

"And there is the call of the desert," Gena said. "When the desert becomes so yellow to you that it is calling for you to come to it. Never never go alone in the desert at night, never go alone in the desert on foot."
Markus took her hand. She looked suddenly frighten and Jason wondered how the desert made of sand could be calling people and if that wasn't some superstition from the desert people's folklore.
“I guess you should go to bed now, we’ll start early tomorrow morning,” Markus said.
Gena stood up to show him the way to the guest room. He lied on the bed all dressed up.

Christmas update! (with video)

I finally managed to make my Christmas update video because it's the middle of the day, literally and I'm out of my hibernation, at least for the moment.
This year for Christmas, my boyfriend decided that it was going to be all camera improvement. I guess that was pretty good. So I got the light I need in case I need to film at night or take pictures indoor on a cloudy day. I have extra battery for my camera because I'm always either forgetting to charge the battery or forgetting to take it out of the battery charger before going out. He also got me a remote controller so I'll be able to stop and start the video again, which is pretty good since he also got me a new card that can film for 11 minutes at a time 8 times before getting full so I'll be able to make videos a lot more efficiently without needed to empty the card 3 times per video, not even kidding on this one.

Then I also got a few present from Angela from Omocha Crush. You can check her channel here. It was pretty sweet of her to send me something.

Then on Christmas day I had to go for a quick trip to the azone store, sorry no pictures as I rushed out of my house so fast I didn't even bring my camera. I managed to get Alisa Aquamarine from the Sahra's a la mode, twinkle a la mode series. I'm pretty happy with that since she is the most limited of them all and would have been super hard to get.

Vampire Friday: Vampire Heart 102

Welcome to a new part of Vampire Heart unedited. Have you been bitten yet?
Sign up to be part of our awesome Vampire Friday blog hop team! You know you want to!

Summary of the previous episodes: Viorel has been tortured by his supposed family who wanted to have him burn in the sun. Strangely enough the sun didn't burn him as expected but Viorel has no memory of who he is. Following the advises of his supposed father, he left Sighișoara and is now traveling to the West. After some skirmish in a previous city, he found refuge on a boat. Viorel is now in Vienna. The little problem is that the guy at the inn was a bit of an asshole and helped capture Viorel thinking he was a vampire, which he is but nobody needs to know. Now there is a huge man (which I call the colossi) taking care of Viorel and a priest. They brought a girl. Torture my holy water... Fail. Viorel managed to confuse everyone, now he would like to get out of here. But the girl seems pretty useless. They still managed to escape and he left the girl to the care of the boat lady before going back to have two words with his captors but his power of persuasion were failing him. The priest wanted to crack a deal but Viorel is not really up to help his enemies. He finally got some blood but he can't risk to stay in Vienna. He travel to Linz were he stays a bit to learn German.
Viorel wanted to go to Praha but redirect himself toward Augsburg instead where he wants to get a horse, except that the horses are a bit scared of his vampirism and maybe something else. Viorel is really not a horse expert. Then he comes into an altercation with couple of people, he wants some fear in his blood. The girl Viorel has found seemed to enjoy the game. Viorel prepares for the nightmares that come with a feast of blood, in a rush to leave, he cross the dukedom of Lorrain.
We introduced Sorina, three weeks after the beginning of Viorel's escape.
Viorel dreamed of Sorina and woke up not really remembering anything. Traveling to Paris, he arrives at "La cour des miracles". He is rescued by a stranger who turned out to be Nicolas Flamel, the alchemist he was looking for. Nicolas does some strange experiment without Viorel's agreement. Some people are looking for Nicolas's secrets. On the other side of Europe, Sorina awakes and Viorel's past in haunting him.

Now, let's continue with Vampire Heart, right where we left of last week

Perenelle took away his half untouched cup of chocolate and started to clean his side of the table.
He doesn’t really mean to be so angry, you know because of all the work you are going through, he isn’t feeling like himself and the stone too it…” she started.
Growing younger made him stupid”, I said.
What about me?” Perenelle answered with a smile.
Why did you marry him, if he was like that?” I asked. I wanted to know why women chose there men I wanted to know why Sorina was coming back to me even after going to church but continued to hurt herself going there.
Oh, that is my secret”, Perenelle answered with a smile.
I sight and drunk my cocoa, I couldn’t bear to dip my bread in it like the human did, I needed to feel all the favors. The warmness reminded me of the blood I had last night. After drinking blood all human food seemed insipid.
Let me talk to him”, Perenelle said.
I knew she used to have a lot of power over him when he was old but the new Nicolas was only listening to himself. I let her leave the kitchen not too sure about the results and started to clean. Nicolas didn’t like to see me clean anymore, it was woman’s work. If he had been here he would have dragged me back to the study room. I started to feel nauseous. I wanted my old friend back, I wanted someone I can trust and confide in.
I went back to my room. I didn’t want to study today, I had enough. The new blood running in my veins was making me feel like I needed to start taking responsibility for my path in life again.
Nicolas knocked at my door few hours later. Had I been on my bed I would have pretended to be asleep but I was sitting at my desk, trying to draw Sorina’s face from memory but always ending up with something that wasn’t even close enough. I looked at him as he entered. He seemed to have calmed down a little.
Why did you refuse to drink from me last night?” he asked.
That wasn’t what I had expected.
I thought it was obvious”, I said.
I’m not the same old men I used to be”, he said.

Thursday Taster 128: Parallel Slip

Hello and welcome to a new Thursday Taster, the day when awesome writers all over the blogosphere come together to give you tasty bits of their last fiction. You can find the list here.

We start right where we left off last week.

"That's a bit of a complicated long story," I said.
"I'm sorry I dragged you into this, you didn't even really want to come in the first place," she said.
"That's ok, I knew something like that wouldn't happen I couldn't let you go alone," I answered.
The foot steps were gone but I was still not ready to go out, I tried to remember how long my other self had stayed in here. Not too long.
"You knew?" Amy said.
"Same as for the door, complicated, insane, not the right time to talk about it," I said.
I didn't even know why I mentioned it. I could have just said it was ok, I could have just said anything but maybe it was the adrenalin rush, maybe it was the half glass of punch or maybe it was that I was more concerned about getting out here than protecting my parallel world travel secret, I didn't care much about what I was saying.
"Why didn't you tell me?" Amy asked.
"If I had told you, you wouldn't have believed me and you would have come here alone," I said.
Amy bite her lips.
"I thought you had no idea what was happening," she said. "You didn't even know about the group and the grades thing they can do for you and..."
"We better go, they have been gone for a while, now we can get in the opposite directions and go back to the road," I said.
"I still don't understand," Amy said.
"Let's go," I said opening the door slightly. I looked in both directions and listened. There was no sign on anyone and they were no foot step noises either. It was now or never. I slipped out and started to run toward the road. From here it was all like I had done before. Amy was on my heal but she had trouble following without slipping and catching herself back. We weren't as fast as I was expecting we would be. I wanted out of here as soon as possible.
Amy pulled on my sleeve to stop me.
"That's there car over there." She said.
