Thursday Taster 128: Parallel Slip

Hello and welcome to a new Thursday Taster, the day when awesome writers all over the blogosphere come together to give you tasty bits of their last fiction. You can find the list here.

We start right where we left off last week.

"That's a bit of a complicated long story," I said.
"I'm sorry I dragged you into this, you didn't even really want to come in the first place," she said.
"That's ok, I knew something like that wouldn't happen I couldn't let you go alone," I answered.
The foot steps were gone but I was still not ready to go out, I tried to remember how long my other self had stayed in here. Not too long.
"You knew?" Amy said.
"Same as for the door, complicated, insane, not the right time to talk about it," I said.
I didn't even know why I mentioned it. I could have just said it was ok, I could have just said anything but maybe it was the adrenalin rush, maybe it was the half glass of punch or maybe it was that I was more concerned about getting out here than protecting my parallel world travel secret, I didn't care much about what I was saying.
"Why didn't you tell me?" Amy asked.
"If I had told you, you wouldn't have believed me and you would have come here alone," I said.
Amy bite her lips.
"I thought you had no idea what was happening," she said. "You didn't even know about the group and the grades thing they can do for you and..."
"We better go, they have been gone for a while, now we can get in the opposite directions and go back to the road," I said.
"I still don't understand," Amy said.
"Let's go," I said opening the door slightly. I looked in both directions and listened. There was no sign on anyone and they were no foot step noises either. It was now or never. I slipped out and started to run toward the road. From here it was all like I had done before. Amy was on my heal but she had trouble following without slipping and catching herself back. We weren't as fast as I was expecting we would be. I wanted out of here as soon as possible.
Amy pulled on my sleeve to stop me.
"That's there car over there." She said.

Wednesday Snippet: Demon World 105

Welcome to a new part of Demon World unedited, we start right where we left off last time.

She had told him before what would happen, she had told him that at the moment when he would be the happiest and the more certain of their safety everything would go down to hell. She had really seen it but he wouldn’t believe, now he knew that she had been right all along and this power of her, her vision of the future was the reason why she was here in the first place. And now his father, the man who had taken him away after the church had killed his parents the man he had been fighting against all along while pretending to obey was the one who would put him down. He couldn’t take that, he wanted to revenge. His heart was filled with hatred and anger.
“I had you followed, since I killed your parents, even though you have behaved like the most fervent of God’s servants, I had never trusted you, not a single minute. You behaved like a dog but you lacked the most important quality a dog possessed, loyalty. You were too slow to condemn and too fast to save. You were looking at the torture as if you were enjoying it while bringing medicine in secret to heal the infidel. You were the first one to pray but the last one to tell the content of your prayer. I considered you my son in this measure, I would also betray anyone to get what I want, but one thing I would not tolerate is the betrayal from other. It seems that his one is special to you, I’ll make sure it stay this way”, the priest said.
Brownie threw herself at his feet, it was pitiful, Sahel had never seen her like that, it was revolting, he wanted to kill that man, to kill the master all over again.
“Please take him away from me, please take him away from me”, she said rolling her eyes like a demented.
“Don’t you recognize your savior”, the priest said half laughing.

WeWriWar 187: Rainbow catcher

Welcome to a new excerpt of Rainbow Catcher for the Weekend Writing Warrior and Snippet Sunday

Now let's go back to our story.

Summary of previous episodes: Clarissa is coughing and wanted to watch Everett Cooper on TV but Jason refused, she is due to get her rainbow the next day but she seems scared, to make her feel better Jason leave the TV on. Clarissa tried to explain about rainbows, she is a big fan of Everett Cooper but Jason is not too sure about it. Clarissa complained about her dialophone but Jason needs to go to work. Before completely leaving he is thinking about getting her her rainbow. We flashed back to the meeting Jason had with a rainbow seller at the black market. Jason left Clarissa's room to go to work. Jason was talking to his boss about the rainbow coming the next day. Jason prepared the money for the rainbow in a sport bag and went to the hospital. The rainbow seller arrived for the delivery. But it was a scam and Jason prepares to go get the rainbow himself in the desert. Markus has a last surprise for him.
We start just where we left off last week.

Jason didn’t try to remember all the information, he knew that his life was probably depending on it but he could do the same as the people around him in any case. Gena’s listing voice was making his head spin.
“Ok, I’ll do that,” he said not really knowing what that is but he knew they wouldn’t leaving him alone until he was acknowledging his knowledge of the desert. Gena continued some more about the people, the cities, the village, the different kind of encounter, the pirates. Jason wanted to close his eyes, there was no way he would see pirates, he would go straight to see Everett Cooper and and there would never be any pirates near his camp. He sight. He liked Markus and Gena but they were a little bit too scared about the world around them, as if everything and everybody were a potential threat to their life.

Vampire Friday: Vampire Heart 101

Welcome to a new part of Vampire Heart unedited. Have you been bitten yet?
Sign up to be part of our awesome Vampire Friday blog hop team! You know you want to!

Summary of the previous episodes: Viorel has been tortured by his supposed family who wanted to have him burn in the sun. Strangely enough the sun didn't burn him as expected but Viorel has no memory of who he is. Following the advises of his supposed father, he left Sighișoara and is now traveling to the West. After some skirmish in a previous city, he found refuge on a boat. Viorel is now in Vienna. The little problem is that the guy at the inn was a bit of an asshole and helped capture Viorel thinking he was a vampire, which he is but nobody needs to know. Now there is a huge man (which I call the colossi) taking care of Viorel and a priest. They brought a girl. Torture my holy water... Fail. Viorel managed to confuse everyone, now he would like to get out of here. But the girl seems pretty useless. They still managed to escape and he left the girl to the care of the boat lady before going back to have two words with his captors but his power of persuasion were failing him. The priest wanted to crack a deal but Viorel is not really up to help his enemies. He finally got some blood but he can't risk to stay in Vienna. He travel to Linz were he stays a bit to learn German.
Viorel wanted to go to Praha but redirect himself toward Augsburg instead where he wants to get a horse, except that the horses are a bit scared of his vampirism and maybe something else. Viorel is really not a horse expert. Then he comes into an altercation with couple of people, he wants some fear in his blood. The girl Viorel has found seemed to enjoy the game. Viorel prepares for the nightmares that come with a feast of blood, in a rush to leave, he cross the dukedom of Lorrain.
We introduced Sorina, three weeks after the beginning of Viorel's escape.
Viorel dreamed of Sorina and woke up not really remembering anything. Traveling to Paris, he arrives at "La cour des miracles". He is rescued by a stranger who turned out to be Nicolas Flamel, the alchemist he was looking for. Nicolas does some strange experiment without Viorel's agreement. Some people are looking for Nicolas's secrets. On the other side of Europe, Sorina awakes and Viorel's past in haunting him.

Now, let's continue with Vampire Heart, right where we left of last week

We need to go take a look at the bodies”, I finally said.
It had taken me a long time to read but it seemed that they were associating the murders to the same murderers. And they thought it was a group of them. All that I could think of was that there were other vampires in the city and that they didn’t want to stay calm and studying all day feeding on human food.
You haven’t seen enough of them last night”, Nicolas said angrily.
When he was in that state, there was no use trying to reason with him. He had been a great teacher when he was older now he was as impulsive as my vampire for. I could understand why it had taken him so long to finally find the philosopher stone, there was no way that such an impatient man could actually find anything. I wonder where all his years of wisdoms had gone and it reminded me to be careful with the stone. I wanted to save my memory with blood and I would but not before finding who were the other vampires in town.
I only bite one”, I said.
What difference does it make?” Nicolas said.
I looked straight at him. Part of me wanted to slap him to make him think straight again but I resisted it.
It means that I might not be the only vampire in town. It means that I have to see the body to figure out if they have been killed by vampire or by anything else.”
Is that all?” Nicolas asked leaving.
Yes”, I answered without even bothering looking at him.
