Wednesday Snippet: Demon World 153

Welcome to a new part of Demon World unedited, we start right where we left off last time.

 

She came closer to the wall and touched the surface of the vortex. It was cold. She wonder how it felt to go through. But if the Seraf had just done it, she could surely do it too.

“What if it’s full of Seraf on the other side”, she said venturing away again.

She wasn’t really sure that she wanted to go in there all alone.

“You better get a white cane before entering that’s for sure”, Dylan said smirking.

Evalynn took few steps away from the wall, turned around and suddenly ran through under everyone amazed eyes. If for one thing, she wanted to get away from that vampire.

“I think you pissed her off”, Gideon said.

“Me?” Dylan answered innocently.

“You pissed her off, you are so good at that”, Dacianna said caressing.

“I can’t believe she just walked in”, Gideon added.

“Actually, she ran in”, Dylan answered.

“Yes, you have that effect on people”, Viorel answered.

“Why does it always have to be my fault”, Dylan said laughing.

He was enjoying being suddenly the center of attention.

Wednesday Snippet: Demon World 152

Welcome to a new part of Demon World unedited, we start right where we left off last time.

“Really?” Daciana answered brightening.

“You better go wash your hands”, Evalynn said.

Viorel didn’t answered and just grabbed the nearby towel he had used to clean after the experiment.

“We gotta fix this, this is not good at all”, Gideon said coming closer to him without taking his eyes of the wall.

“So shall we go give that present to your boyfriend”, Dylan said smirking.

Evalynn looked at him.

“Azazel went through this?” she asked doubtfully.

“Yeah they both did”, Gideon answered.

“But we don’t even know what’s on the other side”, Evalynn answered.

“That’s life, until you cross you’ll never know what’s on the other side”, Viorel said.

For some reasons it seemed to Evalynn that he wasn’t only talking about the strange almost glittering and viscous wall he had just made his living room but about something a lot deeper.

Wednesday Snippet: Demon World 151

Welcome to a new part of Demon World unedited, we start right where we left off last time.

“That’s your chance to go get Brownie in the demon world, and you can give your little gift to your boyfriend, please be my guests”, Viorel said.

Dylan smirked. Vampire humor, you had to like it, but he knew that Viorel was really pissed off and that it was better not to get in his way now.

“If you think I’m going to enter that thing…” Evalynn started, but she was interrupted when something actually came out. The creature was really small and his skin was deep orange, he had huge rabbit-like ears on the top of his head but they were hair less and seemed to be rotating on themselves as to capture where the noise was coming from.

“What the hell is that?” Dylan said laughing.

“It’s cute”, Dacian answered, “can I keep it?”

Evalynn jumped as far away from creature as she could.

“Only if you want to go blind”, she answered.

The creature was looking at the room carefully while his ears were successively pointing in the direction of the person speaking.

Viorel grabbed it by the ears and threw it back in the vortex. It seemed to be moving in very slow motion becoming smaller and smaller.

“No, I said I wanted to keep it”, Daciana complained.

“It’s ok sweetie, I’ll get you a better one, with a fur, so that it’s softer to touch”, Dylan said cuddly.

Wednesday Snippet: Demon World 150

Welcome to a new part of Demon World unedited, we start right where we left off last time.
 

“Oh, oh!” Gideon said thinking that he should have walked out of the room earlier and pulling is wand out of his sleeve.

“Oh, oh”, Dylan repeated, “let’s see how good you are at protecting yourself against demons, really this time, it’s your chance.”

But Gideon wasn’t in the mood to laugh.

“What the hell is that?”

Evalynn took the bag of stone out of his hand precipitately, this house was the weirdest place she had ever been too and coming from a demon that wasn’t an easy thing to say.

“I think we miss calculated something”, Viorel said coming closer to the wall.

In his back they were all ready to fight and jump on the first thing coming out of the hole, but he didn’t seem to be alarmed at all.

They all looked at him as he touched the vortex, the very dark green substance stayed stuck to his finger when he pulled it back.

“Hum, I think we are going to have some company”, he said going back to look at the map and consciously folding it.

“That’s all! I told you that there are a bunch of demons ready to kill everyone on the loose and the only thing you have to say is “we are going to have some company”? close the damn thing”, Evalynn answered.

“I kind of agree with her on this one”, Gideon said. Suddenly he wasn’t so inclined to go to the demon world anymore, after all there ability to even keep the house safe had been tested a lot today and now it was failing.

Wednesday Snippet: Demon World 149

Welcome to a new part of Demon World unedited, we start right where we left off last time.

 

She was walking toward Dylan menacing. It seemed to Gideon that she was a lot scarier than the vampire, scarier than any demons he had ever met, maybe because she was a girl in a pretty unstable state, or maybe because she was just scary.

“Ok so go to find them yourself”, the vampire said standing up. “I’m really getting tired of all those demon stories really. You guys can’t ever do something by yourself, you always need help from others, Gideon can you do magic, Viorel can you fix this, Guys we have a problem.”

“Well I haven’t seen you do much except sitting on your ass here”, Evalynn answered.

“Oh, yeah, maybe I can clean up on annoying demon out of this world so that the air would be easier to breath”, Dylan answered.

“You don’t even breathe”, Viorel said, not even bothering to turn around to look at them. He was looking at the map of the area he had spread on the carpet trying to figure out where a large group of demon could be hiding.

“What’s just a way of speaking”, Dylan answered.

Evalynn strugged giving all her attention to Viorel, he seemed to be the most reasonable of the pack, even though she didn’t like vampire very much.

“Any idea!”

For all answer Viorel sighed.

“I’ll go get Saphira”, Gideon said feeling that he needed to get a bit of fresh air before the situation started to

“I don’t think that will be necessary”, Dylan said.

The vortex in the wall was opening slowly.

Wednesday Snippet: Demon World 148

Welcome to a new part of Demon World unedited, we start right where we left off last time.

“What happened to you?” Gideon asked.

She was looking so strong and masculine somehow with her big wings flapping in her back uncontrollably that it was a bit difficult for Gideon to sympathize with her, he felt like treating her like one of the boys, it was a really strange feeling and it was making him uncomfortable.

“The sanctuary has been attacked, several of my friends disappeared. They had powers like crazy, they were wearing weird robes as if they were from some weird organization, they got kicked out, finally, but there are lots of damages, they were using, I don’t know how to call it but it forbids us to heal so I got that.”

She pushed the bag toward Gideon pushing it strongly in his chest.

Gide on cough

“Do you know who they actually are?” He said opening the bag. It was filled with black stone which seemed to emit there one light in the back..

“No idea, I wasn’t there, it happened fast, between the moment we left and the moment I came back. I need to go back there to help, but Azazel need those, if he is going there on his own.” She seemed to calm down a little.

“He is not on his own, there are plenty of people with him, too many for Gideon to go play”, Dylan said.

“They need this, all of them, those people can neutralize our Eather power, which means no healing people are dying around, they need those stones, do you get it?”

Wednesday Snippet: Demon World 147

Welcome to a new part of Demon World unedited, we start right where we left off last time.

“They don’t need you, at best you’ll just get in the way, and the truth is, I don’t know how to get there”, Viorel answered.

“Then why did you said it was in a flying distance”, Gideon answered suspicious.

“Because Sahel didn’t wait for us to open the vortex, if you want to get there, do a location spell or ask Saphira to find Brownie she might be able too but at best you’ll be a burden for them, think about it, we don’t know how many demons are around Brownie and ours have even of one human to protect”, Viorel answered.

“I’m not just human, I can do Magick”, Gideon answered a bit annoyed.

Viorel had a tendency to consider him like a child and he wasn’t a child anymore he was good at Magick, not ancient Magick or alchemy like Viorel was able to do but he knew what he knew stuff, a lot of stuff. Viorel was clearly underestimating him, even though being older by few centuries was probably a good reason to feel that way.

“I’m going anyway”, Gideon said walking to the door.

Evalynn interrupted him running in. Her hair was totally electrified, she had probably hurt the magical protective barrier straight while coming in, it was happening from time to time with demons and vampire, the barrier had a rejecting effect.

“Where is Azazel?” she said. She looks almost panicked.

“No idea, I was just about to go find out”, Gideon said.

“Good!”, she said trying to get her breath back.

She must have been running or flying as fast as she could to come back here. She was holding a bag against her chest as if it was the most precious thing she possessed and needed to protect it no matter what.

Wednesday Snippet: Demon World 146

Welcome to a new part of Demon World unedited, we start right where we left off last time.

Gideon was looking at the wall wondering what the boundary of friendship was. He was also afraid for Brownie but it didn’t mean that he would have sent other people to get hurt to get her back. But he knew he had just done it and somehow the idea repulsed him even thought they were demons. He had learned long ago that where you were coming from and what you were supposed to be didn’t really apply, especially in this house.

“Can’t we do something to help?” he said.

“We’ve already done enough, they could have flew there but it was interesting to open the vortex, it’s my first”, Viorel said.

Gideon looked at him puzzled. No matter what was happening around he would never change, no worries, no extreme fear or join or feeling was ever to be seen on the vampire’s face.

“Tell me how to go there”, Gideon said.

“No”, Viorel answered.

“I want to get Brownie back as much as they do, and I can protect myself, tell me how to get there”, Gideon said again.

“You know how to protect yourself, la la la”, Dylan said singing coming closer to Gideon liking his upper lips.

Gideon was unimpressed.

“So…” he said.

Wednesday Snippet: Demon World 145

Welcome to a new part of Demon World unedited, we start right where we left off last time.

 

“Yeah, I’m going”, Azazel answered not really reassured. He first touched the substance moving on the wall with his hand, it was cold and disagreeable, not really sticky but moving in a way that gave him a shiver. He had a move to windrow but the wall attracted him inside of it. His feet left the ground of the room and he felt like he was falling into something deep and that he was never going to stop. He had difficulty to breath before realizing that he didn’t need to breath, the substance all around his was breathing for him, it was like being in very thick water but at the same time the substance was as light as air. He was moving fast, he couldn’t define how fast but he could feel the substance moving fast on his check. He wondered why Seti had been moving so slowly. He finally reached the other side. He was pushed away from the wall of a cave with the same almost sticky substance spread on it. Seti was walking around. As Azazel’s feet touched the ground, he managed to maintain his equilibrium and not to bump in the other demon. He turned around to see the vortex closing behind him. He put his hand on the wall but couldn’t feel anything more than a little change of temperature. He realized that he had forgotten to ask how they were supposed to get back.

“Are they going to be ok?” Gideon asked looking at the wall where the vortex had disappeared.

“I seriously doubt it”, Viorel answered arranging his tools. He needed to tidy up the room, creating the potion had made such a mess.

“Why did you make them go then?” Gideon asked.

“Because I care more for Brownie’s safety”, Viorel answered.

“I’m still not good with those humans we can’t bite” Dylan answered.

“They are interesting”, Viorel answered.

Welcome to a new part of Demon World unedited, we start right where we left off last time.

 

“He is already there”, Viorel answered.

“How do you know that?”, Azazel asked getting more and more annoyed by the vampire.

“Because where else could he be” Viorel answered throwing a glass containing a strange glowing green mixture against the wall, exactly where the demons had appear previously. The ground started to shake a little and a dark red spot, almost black appeared on the wall, it was getting bigger and bigger, darker and darker, and it seemed to be getting deeper as well. Finally, the center started to move in and out of the room.

“Time to go”, Viorel said smirking.

“I guess it’s just the two of us, don’t do anything stupid”, Seti said looking at Azazel.

“You better hurry, we don’t know how long it’s going to stay open this way”, Gideon said pressing them.

“If you think I’m going to enter that thing…” Azazel started but he didn’t have time to finish that Seti had already jumped in the dark vortex, he seemed to be moving in really slow motion inside. Azazel looked at him amazed.

“How long is he…” he started again.

“I want to have fun as well”, Dylan said coming close to the vortex himself.

“It’s not our time”, Viorel answer taking him firmly by the hand.

“Why is it that we can’t have any fun anymore”, Dylan said.

“You don’t want to fight with demons, they would burn you like the sun”, Daciana said dancing behind him.

Dylan turned around to grab her.

“Are you going?” Viorel asked to Azazel.

Seti was still moving in slow motion but he seemed to be walking now and the hole in the wall was becoming smaller and smaller.

Wednesday Snippet: Demon World 143

Welcome to a new part of Demon World unedited, we start right where we left off last time.

“Finally!” Viorel exclammed.

“What?” Azazel said.

He was sitting on the bed for what seemed to him to be ages. Evalynn had gone home, Sahel was nowhere to be found, his shadow had proven more useless that any of them and Seti was playing the busy bee turning in circle in the room looking over everyone shoulders, not to forget the two crazy vampire making out shamelessly in one corner of the room and another one playing some sort of chemical Magick tricks with a human. In summary he had never been so bored in his entire life.

“Let’s give a little visit to our demon friends”, Viorel said.

“What?” Azazel said jumping on his feet.

“Are you deaf or just pretending?” Seti said. He at the contrary seemed fully awaken and ready to go.

“We should go get Sahel first”, Azazel said, remembering that every time there had been a fight he had been the one saving them. He wasn’t too confident about his own newly discovered powers yet, after all what could checking the floor a bit do against fully trained demons.

Wednesday Snippet: Demon World 142

Welcome to a new part of Demon World unedited, we start right where we left off last time.

  

The three demons stopped in front of a room.

“How hard did you punch her? She is not waking up yet”, one of them said.

“She will be up soon”, the one with the longer hair answered.

“We better check that everything is fine before she wakes up, I don’t want to be interrupted again”, the third one said.

They started to walk away. Yue stopped hiding to get closer to the room.

“How many of them will die this time?” one of the demon asked.

“I would say none, most likely they will find the way out and disperse within the wood”, another answered.

The others started to laugh.

Yue progressed slowly not to be seen, he reached the entrance of the room as they were turning in the corridor.

She was there, lying on the ground, in a purple dressed. Suddenly something seemed familiar to him. Something in seeing her like that was imprinted in his memory. He entered the room without more precaution. Kion started to sing. He was happy, everything was progressing as planned, now he only needed the red fire to arrive and it would be done, he would finally be liberated from his pain.

Wednesday Snippet: Demon World 141

Welcome to a new part of Demon World unedited, we start right where we left off last time.

 

The fight started again. There was no way demons would leave themselves be punished guilty or not. If one had died, he had probably asked for it, and if not, he should have fought better. They knew that if one of them had managed to get out, even for a little bit, it was possible for them to do the same. And now that they had what they had come for, none of them wanted to rest here any longer than necessary. The demons in robes were trying to retreat but they were under attack.

“What if one of them dies again?” one of the three demons asked.

“Yue killed some, nothing happened”, another answered.

“We will get the formula soon enough”, the other answered. “The witch must be awaken and ready to talk now.”

Yue stopped playing with his adversary and burned him to ashes, the black fire was leaking out of his hand more easily than ever, he didn’t bother to turn around, he just followed the three of them down the corridor, they were going to lead him to the witch. He had been waiting for that forever.

“Let’s go out of here”, Torsti said turning around to Odeon. Lonan was already playing with a demon in robe, jumping on his stomach, making him spit blood every time he was landing, water and fire was getting out of the hand of the demon alternatively, he was unable to control his powers anymore.

“I want to know where Yue went”, Odeon said.

“We don’t have time for that”, Torsti answered grabbing his arm.

“Tell me what happened?”

“You were the one telling me that I was going to put this family in danger for revenge. No it’s my turn to tell that to you, we got to get out of here as soon as possible, trust me, just this once”, Torsti said.

Odeon turned to Lonan one second, he seemed to be having fun but Odeon knew that it wasn’t going to last too long before he was bored again.

“Let’s play some game outside”, he said.

Torsti smiled, now it was his turn to cut their way out.

Wednesday Snippet: Demon World 140

Welcome to a new part of Demon World unedited, we start right where we left off last time.

A ball of fire passed just near his hear and landing somewhere in his room. Using fire against him was the better way to defy him. The smallest of the three demons was the one standing in front, his hand still in position. Yue looked at him above his shoulder smirking. The atmosphere suddenly felt hot and heavy, everyone was waiting for them to move, to know who would be the one dictating the rules after their fight, everyone except the demon standing on his table, he started to read again.

“Earlier today, one of you went out for a bit of fresh air and killed one of us creating a breach in the energy barrier. We want to know who it is. Until the guilty guy is found, you will be punished one after the other.” He claimed.

“Try that”, Kamaril said.

“If someone managed to get out, I seriously doubt he’ll be here waiting for you to punish him, he is probably out there ruling the world with his new powers which is exactly what all of us should do”, one of the other demons answered.

They seized the demon on the table and punched him in the face.

“Enough!” the voice of the demon with long hair resonated in the room. He didn’t seem so involved at the beginning but he seemed passable mad now.

“We have important things to do, we will let you to starve in here”, he said turning around followed by the two others.

Wednesday Snippet: Demon World 139

Welcome to a new part of Demon World unedited, we start right where we left off last time.

The three of them were here. They didn’t look that almighty once they had gone down of their pedestal and weren’t sitting on their throne anymore. They were just normal demons just like the rest of them, maybe a little older and with more killing experience but Torsti had given up on aiming at harboring big large horns like his father had long ago. The horns wouldn’t grow on him, no matter how many demons he had kill and it seemed to be the same for the rest of them today. After the fight earlier, they should all have some by now.

“Yue!” the demon repeated.

Two demons in robe walked to Yue’s door and used their powers to open it. They entered in the dark and Yue felt on them. They didn’t have time to cry before being projected out of the room, dead, both of them.

“I understand why Davon wouldn’t let us sleep in there”, Kamaril said laughing.

“Get him!” the tallest of the three demons said.

Two other demons entered the room slowly looking everywhere. Yue felt down behind them near the door fire going out of his hands, they were roasted before they could do one more step.

“What do you want?” he said yawning.

His eyes were darker than ever, there was absolutely nothing white remaining in them.

The three demons didn’t answer to him. They didn’t even look at him. One of the demons in robe walked in the middle of the room and jump standing on the table. He held a manuscript in his hand.

“Earlier today”, he started.

“If you are going to lecture us, I’m not interested, call me when I can go see the witch”, Yue said turning around.

There was no doubt about it, the hunters had come for him and he knew it.

“That’s the moment when our fate will be decided”, Odeon said calmly.

“I’m so impatient”, Lonan said jumping around.

“Don’t do anything unnecessary”, Torsti answered, “as soon as we can we are out of the battle field.”

“What’s wrong with you? Did you see a ghost?” Lonan answered.

Torsti seized him violently.

“I’m tired of you behaving like a restless kid all the time, it’s time for you to grow up, this world is dangerous and you are not helping you’ll do exactly as I say”, he said shaking him.

“I’ll do what I want, I know better than you what is good for me, I want to enjoy myself again”, Lonan said defying.

Torsti threw him on the floor.

“Deal with him”, he said to Odeon opening the door.

The voice of the demons outside was becoming more and more impatient as the time past. They were all gathered in the room, all the survivor, all except Yue. Odeon walked behind Torsti, Lonan hiding behind them, he had left the door open, he was ready to jump back in the room and to get their bag before leaving after all they always carried all their possessions with them.

“Yue!” the voice of the demon resonated in the room.

Wednesday Snippet: Demon World 137

Welcome to a new part of Demon World unedited, we start right where we left off last time.

Torsti was back down with his brother packing his bag as fast as he could.

“I don’t know what is this place but we gotta get out of here as soon as possible”, he said for the third time.

Odeon was looking at him unimpressed.

“I would like to know what made you change your mind so drastically. Are you scared of something? What about you taking care of Yue first?” he said.

Torsti looked at him.

“I’m going to repeat myself one more time, they bound you when you die and they suck up your dead energy, now let’s get the hell out of here.” He said.

“But we are not dead yet”, Lonan answered jumping on one of the bed.

“I thought about it carefully and I don’t want to wait until we are to see what happen to us”, Torsti said picking him up and putting him back on the ground.

“What did you saw exactly?” Odeon asked again.

He was getting tired of this little game and of people changing their minds all the freaking time. He wanted to get out but he also wanted to bring down the hunters with him.

“I don’t know” Torsti answered. He didn’t want to tell them about the clouds of spirit and about their parents’ soul probably prisoners of the hunters. If Odeon knew about that he would want to stay and look for them he had been the one the more touched by their deaths. He wanted to free them too but there was no way to do it, they might not even be there and if they were not he couldn’t imagine Odeon’s reaction but he knew that it would be even more frightening then a bunch of ghosts going through his body. He didn’t have time to answer to Odeon’s next question that noises resonated in the dining room.

“Get out of your room now!” the strong voice exclaimed.

Wednesday Snippet: Demon World 136

Welcome to a new part of Demon World unedited, we start right where we left off last time.

 

“We asked specifically not to be disturbed”, one of the demons with the big horns said turning over to him. The two others didn’t move, Brownie wondered if they had shared the tasks so well that each of them only had a very specific function and this one was the one taking care of the interruption. Her demon was looking at her intensely. He seemed to be trying really hard not to break her throat. She was playing with fire and she knew it.

“She knows something”, the demon looking at Kion said, he walked toward him and lowered himself near him. Kion had that kind of power, he could probably ask anything from them if he wanted too, he had what they needed most, he could sense what she knew.

But Brownie still didn’t understand. She wasn’t even close of thinking about a formula not even talking about what the right one could be.

“Little girl, give me the formula”, the demon said smiling at her.

The other was shaking Kion but Kion didn’t react, he was somewhere else, away from his body and away from Brownie’s mind.

The demon wearing the robe was on the floor, begging for his life, and giving his information.

“We need to go”, the demon taking care of him said kicking him throwing him out of the way before walking out.

“We are not finished here”, the one kneeling near Kion answered without stopping to shake him.

“We are close to get our answer”, the demon in front of Brownie answered looking back toward the hole.

Brownie couldn’t have disagreed more but she wasn’t going to tell. They had something to take care between them.

“You heard him like I did, one of them died and there is a breach in the soul plan, if we don’t take care of it, the formula won’t matter anymore we will have no soul left to use it”, the demon said.

Brownie’s brain was racing. They wanted to do something to the souls but what, what had she ever done with souls.

“She knows something more”, the demon taking care of Kion said still shaking him to make him come back from his trance.

“And she won’t forget about it anytime soon”, the demon with the long hair said slapping Brownie across the face. She thought that her lower jaw was going to quit her face before her head hit the wall next to her and she lost consciousness.

“Let’s go, and I hope they really needed us or I will took care of them personally” the demon said.

The other stood up.

“I’m not done with you”, he said to Kion.

They walked out of the room.
